  1. Fixed. Yup. Provided you don't allow the facts to get in the way. I'm just saying, most of the comments I am seeing about what it will take to win this game can be said for both teams. It's going to be awesome!
  2. I would think he has a specific target or 3 that are free agents, but I wouldn't be surprised if his trade feelers are out there too.
  3. You don't think that Brady leaving New England, and landing in the Super Bowl in his first year in Tampa, without Belichek is compelling to the sports world? How many fans were around when Super Bowl I took place? The only reference to that game for most is media coverage and the history books. Everyone who is currently an NFL fan knows Tom Brady and his accomplishments. Having him leave the team he won numerous Super Bowls with, then go to the Super Bowl with another team the very next season, is monumentous sports coverage fodder. It will be covered relentlessly on the National Media, where as a Super Bowl I rematch will get a mention, but won't be as important or interesting nationally. I realize you are all Packer fans, and there is nothing more important than the Packers in WI, but if anyone questions the interest level nationally of Brady back in the super bowl without the Pats and Bill B. over the rematch of Super Bowl I which took place 53 years ago, I think maybe the homerism has been taken too far. I think it's homerism to think that the vast majority of fans nationally aren't sick of Brady and have no desire to see him in another Super Bowl. I won't disagree with that in the least. Before he went to Tampa, the last thing in the world I wanted to see was he and the Pats in another super bowl. This is different, and to think it wouldn't be a bigger story than a rematch of Super Bowl I that tool place 53 years ago, when most fans weren't born, is just blatant homerism............................imo. Like it or not, Brady in a Super Bowl without the Pats and Bill B is a HUGE sports story. That doesn't mean the average fan wants to see it, just that it is a gigantic national sports news story given Brady's past accomplishments.
  4. Yup, he'll be back either way imo... Question is, will Gronk be back and willing to take a pay cut to stay with Brady?

  6. Wait a minute, did you just anoint Mahomes as one of the best two QBs in NFL history? That might be a little premature maybe? If you said Brady and Rodgers, that wouldn't have made me cringe, that is at least a formative argument, but Mahomes top two, EVER?
  7. I guess we need a new thread for 2021... Nationals signed INF/OF Hernan Perez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training. Perez was with the Cubs in 2020 but appeared in only three major league games. The versatile 29-year-old holds a career .252/.281/.386 batting line in 1,825 total plate appearances at the big league level. SOURCE: Daniel Alvarez on Twitter Jan 21, 2021, 10:33 AM ET
  8. So basically, we could be masked up for eternity. Lovely.
  9. I'd be fine with bringing Gyroko back, but I also feel that if we don't act relatively soon, someone else will grab him up on us. I'm sure DS is exhausting other options first, but if he waits too long, it could be too late. As far as Arcia being a trade candidate, in all seriousness, what could we expect back for him? I think he would have negative value on the trade market.
  10. So many people longing for LaStella... If he is the be all, end all at 3B, someone will snatch him up for a higher number than we will be willing to pay. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of broken hearts at brewerfan.net once he signs...
  11. How disappointing it will be to finally produce some pitchers, then to trade them away. The haul better be immense!!! SUPR IMMENSE!
  12. I still don't think that we will know until Cease and Jimenez are further along in their careers to be honest.

    Pizza

Absolutely! I enjoy that, and I also enjoy pouring salsa on as well. This helps especially with cheap frozen pizzas. I wouldn't necessarily do it on a take out pizza, but frozen pizzas for sure!
  14. True, and if Fingers would have been able to pitch in that World Series, I think we would remember 1982 a little differently as well...
  15. It's an act of desperation imo...
  16. I'd be on board with this...
  17. You won't be disappointed, every time I plug another dvd in, it seems to fly by, so interesting. Kind of makes you long to be around in the 20's-60's to experience it all in person. I was born in 65, and my first baseball memories are tied to Hank Aaron as a Brewer. He started my lifelong love for all that is baseball.
  18. My district has been in person all year, every day, 5 days per week... 20-24 kids per classroom, some more depending on seating arrangement and space. Our kids travel to 6 seperate classes per day in different classrooms, 6 different teachers, and frequent the cafeteria 2 times to boot. (breakfast break and lunch) Teachers in my building are exposed to 80 - 100 kids per day, not counting speacial duties like lunch supervision, coaching, etc... Teachers are definately at risk, but I still think old people should get the vaccine first. I am fine with being in 1B as far as the pecking order. That sounds like business as usual and seems insane to me. Pretty much, but many safety precautions are taken, and added to our hourly workload... On top of everything else, we do have virtual kids who chose that option vs in person. I have 16 total sprinkled throughout each hour of the day, so meeting with them and the in person kids at the same time is a challenge, a BIG challenge. What is insane is how teachers in this environment are stretched to the limits daily. This is NOT the job I signed up for, however, I have 1.5 years until retirement, so I'm riding it out.
  19. Looking forward to this one! Go Bucs!

  21. It's really too bad that Kenesaw Mountain Landis was so against blacks playing in MLB. If he had allowed it, guys like Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige (along with countless other stars of the Negro Leagues) would have had much different carreer paths, and would probably be mentioned in the same sentance with Babe Ruth and the other early stars of the game. Hard to believe that so many people back in the day were ok with such blatant racism tied to the commish office. He did a lot of great things for the game too, but hard to get past his racism... I have really enjoyed the Negro League pieces in this series. What might have been...
  22. Well, yeah. Many state legislatures and the outgoing administration haven't hid the fact that they consider in-person school an extremely high priority. Sure. The only problem with that is giving the vaccine to healthy 28 year old teachers before 1A is even close to being completed. Having teachers being included in 1B is debatable to begin with, but including them as de facto 1A population is another story. Why is having teachers included in 1B debatable? Especially those teaching in-person. Just curious...
  23. I have accepted the fact that Hader will not be traded this off season. Maybe at the deadline in July. I just don't see it happening.
