  1. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Orioles have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent shortstop Jose Iglesias. Feinsand also reports that the deal will have a 2021 mutual option that could make the contract two years for $6 million. A strong defender up the middle, the 30-year-old spent last year with the Reds, and he hit .288/.317/.407 with with 11 homers and 59 RBI in 146 games. Iglesias should be the everyday shortstop for Baltimore, and he could hit at or near the top of the lineup for the rebuilding Orioles in 2020. 2. I can't wait for Donaldson to sign someplace.
  3. I don't think that is it. I have purchased from grocery stores as well, and was disappointed in those for all the same reasons. I think Jacks are just not good anymore no matter where you purchase. Someone mentioned Roma pizzas. back in the 70's and 80's, they were excellent! Nothing tasted like them, and just loved that sauce. Sometime in the early 90's, they completely went the Jacks route, changed everything, fewer toppings, almost no cheese and changed that great sauce. I haven't looked back, and that was when I switched to Jacks...
  4. I add shredded mozzarella to the Jacks, have to now that they got so cheap. I bought a truckload of them at Menards a month ago when they were on sale for $1.88 plus 11% off. Bought 24 of them, so it will take a while to get them gone. I used to agree about the sauce on Jacks, but everything about them has slipped imo. I also do not cook them on a pan, just on the rack because I like a little crispier crust than most people. I'm telling you, if you want the Cadillac of frozen pizzas at a great price, Lotza Motza is the one. They were just on sale at Festival before the holidays for 5 for $20, that is only $4 each, and they are so gooooooood! Loaded with cheese (hence the name) and ingredients. They have some really cool ones too like "curds and sticks" which is cheese curds and beef sticks. Their Taco pizza is great, and the also have a really spicy one called Hotza Motza, or something like that. I only buy them on sale which is usually $4.99, but when Festival had their sale, I loaded up!!! lol They are big and filling. If I make them for just myself, I get two meals out of them. Agreed on hot pockets too. Stopped buying them all together a couple years ago. Maybe it's just the adult in my not liking them anymore, but I know Jacks made some changes, and they were for the worse.
  5. agreed. while we are on the subject of frozen pizzas, Jacks has really taken a tumble in quality over the past couple of years. They are getting smaller and smaller, fewer ingredients, and the amount of cheese on them now is a crime. Jacks used to be my go-to, but once my supply is gone, I'm done with them.
  6. Athletics signed INF/OF Nate Orf to a minor league contract. The 29-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his professional career in the Brewers' organization -- most recently slashing .272/.399/.410 with 11 homers, 54 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 125 games at Triple-A San Antonio in 2019. He'll add depth and versatility for the A's. Source: Baseball America Jan 4, 2020, 5:59 PM ET
  7. Ummmm, you can believe that if you want, but there is always a chance of injury, and at his age, the odds of him not having an injury the next 4 years is pretty slim. The key will be avoiding a serious injury, which is for from zero risk.
  8. More disappointing than Sogard or Healy? I'm not a Castro fan by any means, but we have to do better than what we currently have, right? I think we trade for our opening day third basemen, plenty of time left.
  9. The Mets are shopping a package of Jed Lowrie and Dom Smith in trade talks. The Mets owe Lowrie $10 million for the 2020 season and would like to unload that commitment if possible. Smith is out of options and doesn't have a clear path to a roster slot. The soon-to-be 36-year-old Lowrie missed all but nine games of the 2019 season. His trade value is likely under water given his health status and expensive contract. Packaging him with Smith could entice another team to take Lowrie's contract and send something of value to the Mets. The Athletics are rumored to have interest in a reunion with Lowrie, who played five seasons with the A's. Lowrie had a career year in 2018 when he delivered a .267 batting average with 23 home runs, 99 RBI and 78 runs scored. SOURCE: New York Post Jan 2, 2020, 9:56 PM ET
  10. If the Brewers are getting leery about paying Hader that kind of money, I doubt they are going to pay an arguably lesser pitcher in Harris that much. Of course, it's hard to read the tea leaves concerning the Brewers wishes with Hader. Are they considering moving him more because he'd getting expensive, or because he's got a crazy high value? I don't believe it's the $. I believe that they are thinking his value might be in it's peak right now. Rather than risk him taking a step back, now is the time to move him for the best value. My opinion of course, I don't claim to know anything more than anyone else here.
  11. Blue Jays signed INF Travis Shaw to a one-year, $4 million contract. The deal reportedly includes $675,000 in possible incentives. He'll also be under team control for 2021. Shaw is coming off a disastrous 2019 season where he batted .157/.281/.270 batting line with seven home runs and 16 RBI over 86 games, but this is a worthwhile buy-low for Toronto given his production from 2017-2018. The expectation is that he'll take over as the regular first baseman. Dec 30, 2019, 11:13 AM ET The regular 1B. Interesting.
  12. nope, no thanks.

  14. I dont have a link, but I know it has been reported that yelich is the one(possibly one of two, but I cant remember the other name) player we are not open to trading for the right price. Yelich is the only one who is off-limits for sure. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On the one hand, he is unique. On the other hand, if a team was offering a massive overpay for Yelich (say the Yankees offer Torres, Urshela, Stanton, Severino, and Sanchez), I'd be willing to listen, even if it's to say, "Thanks, but no." So, practically, I would have Yelich on a "not available for trade" list, but theoretically, there are packages I'd take for him. I doubt any GM would be willing to make them. Hiura may be almost on that list. I'd take him even up for Torres, but would the Yankees bite? If the Yankees offered that package for Yelich, I wouldn't be able to accept fast enough! YES please!!!!
  15. Just sitting here waiting for the "out of the blue" trade that brings us our 3B for the 2020 season...
  16. Saw it today, loved it! I don't pick apart every little thing in the SW series. If I enjoyed it, and it entertained me, I like it, simple as that!
  17. Difference is, the White Sox are starting their push with a lot of money to spend. The Brewers on the other hand, not so much. Pretty big difference imo.
  18. Castellanos is not a 3B. The attitude that Stearns can sign anyone and turn them into whatever position he wants them to be is ridiculous.
  19. Actually, by saying they are the first two pieces makes it sound like they are the BEST two pieces. Then following it up with the sweeteners are what is holding it up, makes it sound like sweeteners are the throw ins... Sweeteners is a term not used in describing the best part of a deal, but in fact, the opposite. Sweeteners usually means throw ins or lottery tickets...
  20. Nothing more than Twitter rumors but it sounds like those first two pieces (Garcia and Andujar) are agreed on. It's the sweeteners preventing a deal to this point. Also seems like other teams are jumping in to help drive the offers closer to what the Brewers are willing to accept. If true, that would be depressing. All out depressing, not just a little bumming out...
  21. My guess is that DS is going to run a sneak attack, and our new 3B is someone who no one else has even thought about yet...

  23. Well, to be fair to him, CC always pulled the plug after 4 - 5 innings, we really never got to see if that was all he could be counted on for.

  25. Or it means that he is already promised to us in a Hader deal...
