  1. What do you mean "what is going on in these practices?" Baseball is going on. This kind of thing happens all the time, spring training, regular season, and even in the playoffs. Not sure what your angle is here other than to suggest they don't practice at all? That is the only thing that can assure their health come opening day. "Losing him to a Batting practice seems like it should not be possible in 2025 but instead of the game becoming safer in the modern age we hear time and time again that players are being injured in these meaningless moments way more than they ever get hurt in games." Got anything to back up a statement like this? "What is going on with live Batting practice these days? It seems a majority of injuries that teams deal with come in these practices..." Again, where does this come from? majority of team injuries come in batting practice? Dude...
  2. I'm pulling hard for him! Such a nice kid while in Appleton!
  3. I watched this series for the first time a couple years ago and actually hated it. I stuck with it though, and even watched the reboot, which was horrendous. I know that show has a lot of fans, I'm not one of them.
  4. Interesting scenario, but I'll take the World Series championship. I want one in my lifetime, I can take the losing, but I want the one glorious season so I can see what it feels like.
  5. Meh Nothing but depth at this point.
  6. Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports that the Brewers are signing Manuel Margot. Margot hit .238/.289/.337 with four homers and five steals over 129 games with Minnesota in 2024. The former top prospect had his $12 million mutual option declined by the Twins, with Margot instead getting a $2 million buyout. He’ll battle for a backup outfield gig this spring. Source: Dan Hayes
  7. Oh, that's inevitable. Arnold will be leaving, it's just a matter of when.
  8. Seriously, get some help on perspective in your life. Seriously. Your ups and downs on this board are truly amazing.
  9. It might just be me, but the OP absolutely wears me out as a contributor to this board. It's either OVER the top rainbows and unicorns optimism, or what we have here. Geez...
  10. It's really quite simple. The Brewers have priced me out. That is just a fact. If I lived an hour closer, I may still attend a few games, but living in the T-Rats back yard, I get just as much satisfaction attending those games as Brewers games, so it's an easier and much cheaper option.
  11. Extremely likeable dude! He'll be easy to root for!
  12. Thanks, I know he has applied in Montana, still waiting to hear from them. I just can't imagine being able to draw from a state you no longer live in...
  13. Ticket prices, parking prices, concessions prices, the 1.5 hour drive hassle and gas prices, etc had me NOT going to a Brewers game in person last season for the first time since I was a little kid. They priced me out when I went to purchase my favorite tickets last season, which cost $50 each in 2023, and got jacked up to $80 each for 2024. That was what it took for me to give the Brewers a giant "screw you, I'm just not going to go to a game this year." I got by just fine tuning into probably 95% of the games on TV. I do plan to go to a game this year with friends. but that will probably be the extent of my live game viewing experience this season.
  14. My son left his job in Montana in September to take a new job in Nevada as a federal government employee. This means that as of last Friday, he has been fired/layed off/let go, or whatever our current administration is calling it today. He has insurance for 30 days, after that, he is on his own. Can't get unemployment until he finds another job because he hasn't been in the state of Nevada long enough to draw unemployment. Just a really crappy way to do things. No notice at all, just see ya later.
  15. That's a REALLY big stretch thinking Black can play 2B and 3B at the MLB level.. That ain't happening, that ship has sailed.
  16. Ok, but dominating? That word is different to me I guess...
  17. I don't see Henderson starting out with the team right out of the gate. I'd think Ashby would get the chance at our #5 before Henderson, unless they have already made the announcement that Ashby with be long relief. Even then, I don't think Henderson is quite that high in the pecking order just yet.
  18. Fanduel carries my new favorite show! Foul Territory. Found it a few weeks ago, and it is now in my daily viewing routine. I like the fact that the panel really does say what they feel about all things baseball. I don't like the fact that they are against a salary cap in general. Eric Kratz is a fun watch, so is AJ Priesinski (probably murdered that spelling) Took me a few episodes to get used to Scott Braun, but he has grown on me. Great show that fills my offseason baseball needs.
  19. I guess not, can't find what I thought I read yesterday...I guess I'm just making things up now. :(
  20. I thought the Mets signed him yesterday?
  21. Question: Overlooked by who? Freddy is Freddy. I think we have seen exactly what he brings, and I truly hope he has another level to step up to. NO ONE is overlooking Freddy, EVERYONE is looking to him to provide the ace to our staff that we desperately need. So far, he hasn't been able to provide us with that. Far from overlooked. Bauers? Jake Bauers? THE Jake Bauers? Nah, not a chance, not even a remote chance... The fact you include him on a list like this makes me question your motives. lol Durbin. No clue, absolutely no clue what this tiny little guy will bring us. Haase. Has never dominated, has never given any indication of dominating. Again, I think you are just reaching for names to put on this list. Hoskins. He has no where to go but up. After last years total disappointment of a season, all we can do is hope he finds himself again after a full season post injury. At his peak, he was not dominating, I doubt that suddenly kicks in now.
  22. Ty France only got 1 million? I know he isn't great, but for that price, he would have been worth a shot over a guy like Bauers. Twins signed 1B Ty France to a one-year contract. The non-guaranteed deal is worth a reported $1 million. According to the Pioneer Press’s Betsy Helfand, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said today that France is “going to play a lot. That’s really the best way to put it.” It seems like bad news for fellow right-handed hitter José Miranda, who looked like the favorite to start at first base a few days ago.
  23. Christian Yelich said there’s no concern about his status for Opening Day following back surgery. Yelich seemed a little annoyed that GM Matt Arnold labeled him a question mark earlier this week. He’s been gearing up normally and said he feels good. The Brewers will surely go slowly with him at the beginning of the spring, but that’s pretty typical, too; he’s totaled between 11-14 games each of the last four springs. Source: Adam McCalvy
  24. My biggest issue is that while we have sat quietly the Cubs and Reds have not. I don't think anyone can look at our roster and say that we are comfortably on the top of the Central. That just isn't the case. We could finish 3rd as easily at 1st. If we don't win the division outright, there is probably a pretty good chance we don't get a wildcard either. The National league is full of really good teams, so to me it feels like it's win the division, or bust. Are we good enough to win the division? I think it's a crapshoot, and adding a big bat to replace Adames was paramount to our chances. We didn't do that, so it will be interesting to see what happens. (I am not saying that we should have paid Adames, I don't think I have seen anyone say that here. I think the Giants are going to regret the hell out of that contract to be honest. I do however, think we should have done a lot better at attempting to replace his production.) If I have to watch Counsell take the Cubs to the Central title, I'm going to puke my guts out.
  25. Well, he's not wrong... I'm ready to stop thinking about what we should have done, and start concentrating on the upcoming season and what we do have. It isn't a done deal yet that they don't go out and get another player via trade.
