I'm not disagreeing for the most part with your post, but 5 deep in the OF?
In my opinion, they are 2 deep, with a bunch of filler for 3-8, and are in desperate need of another bat in their starting OF.
Yelich - can't even count him really, since he is our daily DH.
Perkins - can't be projected as a starter due to his bat, he's a good #4 or 5 guy, but any extended playing time just means something went wrong.
Baddoo - yuk, I hope whatever the Brewers think they see in this guy pays off.
Lockridge - Not a fan, he's fast, blah blah blah. No way we can count on him for an extended period of time.
Bauers - below average defense, and probably more in the "sucks at defense in the OF" category.
Mitchell - injury concern..............................not really a concern, just a matter of when the injury happens.(sorry BrewerFan)
To compete in the playoffs in 2026, we are going to have to add a bat in the OF, it's really as simple as that. We can go into 2026 thinking we can repeat 2025, but even if we do, we see how far that gets us in the playoffs.
This line-up NEEDS another dependable bat that can hit for some power. We can't think we are going to take another step forward in 2026 with Perkins/Baddoo/etc and Joey hitting 8 and 9 in the line-up.
We can hope to see 2024 Joey, and we can hope that Mitchell stays healthy and doesn't strike out 38% of the time, but that is just a hope and a prayer.
All opinions of course.
