  1. Due to the Gallardo bobbleheads being in customs, I received 5 vouchers for them today (I actually received vouchers 496, 497, 498, 499. 500!). I will want to keep at least 1, possibly 2. I am willing to trade the extras that I have. I would certainly like to get a Braun Bobblehead from today's game. I will pick them up when they arrive, and will ship them afterwards. If you're interested, shoot me an offer.
  2. I am interested in the Braun bobblehead from today. I will be getting 5 Gallardo's from Beloit (I was actually number 496, 497, 498, 499, 500!) If anyone is interested in the Gallardo, let me know, as I will pick up the Gallardo when it arrives and send it to you.
  3. Very interested...count me in. Edit: Nevermind...I have a prior obligation...shoot. Count me out.
  4. I've said this elsewhere before: if you're expecting him to duplicate or expound on his 50 home run season of a year ago, you'll be sorely disappointed, and believe that he lost his power. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, Fielder is being pitched to much differently this year than last. No one is or will be grooving him any pitches over the plate, and if they come inside, it is way inside. If you haven't noticed, catchers are setting up outside. Until Fielder consistently hits to the opposite field, he won't be getting a whole lot to hit. Ultimately, he's going to have to start capitalizing on pitchers mistakes, something all superstar hitters do well. At the moment he is still trying to adjust. Once he does, he'll start hitting more home runs. I just refuse to believe that removing meat from his diet has caused him to lose power.
  5. Those are the three true outcomes that don't involve fielders.
  6. Brewerfan.net: Take me to Pleasure Town. Russell Branyan: Oh, we're going there. "Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention. I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. 3TO!" Today we spell "redemption"... 3-T-O.
  7. "There was a time, a time before a .500 record, when a local baseball player reigned supreme. When people believed everything they heard on TV. This was an age when only men were allowed to attend baseball games. And in Milwaukee, one baseball player was more man then the rest. His name was Russell Branyan. He was like a god walking amongst mere mortals. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr and a swing so fine it made Griffey Jr. look like a hobo. In other words, Russell Branyan was the balls."
  8. You can't stop Branyan...you can only hope to contain him. T-minus 14 hours until the Muscle is unleashed! Russell Branyan is like Redbull...he'll give this team wings.
  9. Considering the state of our pitching, I certainly do. Yes, Estrada netted us Mota, who has been serviceable. But at the same time, we gave up Eveland who has been decent for Oakland. Perhaps it is the proverbial change of scenery that has benefited Dana. But would this team be stronger if Melvin didn't make that trade? If this is a rehashing of old debate, then this thread ought to be locked. However, I feel that this is a relevant topic considering the state of the Brewers pitching at present.
  10. I don't think the baggy uniform helps his appearance. I can't tell if he's the same or different, but the uniform is baggier.
  11. How often do teams get sufficient value for superstars? As fans, we completely overvalue our own players, expecting to get a huge return, when in reality it isn't likely to happen, because the player(s) received in exchange won't likely have the impact that the player traded had. Would St. Louis get sufficient value in return for Pujols? Highly unlikely, as the players hypothetically fetched for Pujols wouldn't likely have the impact that he has. Did Minnesota get sufficient value for Santana? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not sure that we or anyone is truly able to assess whether or not a team gets sufficient value for any player. And if we certainly expect the players received in return to be equal to or greater than the player traded away, we are setting ourselves up for an enormous dissapointment. To me, this is apples to oranges. While Sexson and Fielder are both first basemen, their games are different, at least in my opinion, and thus their value would be viewed differently.
  12. Braun...earning his paycheck. Too bad Hardy had to ground into a DP.
  13. Besides gazing at the sweet mullets, contemplate the words and let them touch your heart!
  14. <----------- Preacher
  15. I would answer "yes" to the thread title. I've watched the majority of games, and it seems as if most pitchers are pitching the Brewers outside or way in. Yet, the players seem so adamant about pulling the ball. Is it because they are home run hitters? Dead pull hitters? I think those are certainly reasons. It's frustrating to me why they can't just swallow their pride a bit and hit a ball opposite field, even if it is only a single. It would be nice to see them take the ball to where it is pitched more often. Is it just me, or did Prince seem to hit the ball to the opposite field more last year? I don't recall seeing many of his hits (even outs) going to the opposite field so far this year. It just seems the team is way to pull happy at the moment and refuses to take what is given them. I'm sure that if they start doing that on a consistent basis, then the pitchers will come middle-half more than they have been.
  16. I think I'd rather add Bonds, as he would add a much needed lefty bat, would likely provide decent OBP, and could sock out a few more home runs as well. Of course, it's never gonna happen, but if I had to choose between the lesser of two evils, it'd be Bonds.
  17. Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy they broadcast them too. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't watch the Brewers. But that doesn't mean the production should be this bad.
  18. The production at the end of tonight's game was atrocious. Not only did they miss two pitches to Joe Dillon, they completely missed the final at bat. They come back only to show the Brewers cleaning out the dugout. Throughout the season so far I thought it was poor, but tonight, the ninth inning especially, was absolutely unacceptable. FSN has no business broadcasting baseball games.
  19. I debated starting a thread on Jones. I'm not familiar with his situation in Detroit. Was he starting or coming off the bench? I think he could be a valuable 4th outfielder. He certainly has more power than Gwynn, but again, going off memory, seems to strike out a lot. We seem to have a lot of guys who strikeout a lot. But it wouldn't hurt to take a look.
  20. I think I understand what you're saying, but I don't view this as having any validity. Perhaps it would if Gagne picked whom he faces in save situations. He throws to whoever is at bat. And lets not be naive, all these players on MLB teams can hit. They have talent. Otherwise they wouldn't be there. They are professional hitters paid to get on base.
  21. I started out driving a 1986 Buick Electra Station Wagon (it was powder blue instead of white) http://www.stationwagon.com/gallery/pictures/1986_Buick_Electra_Estate.jpg Then toward the end of High School I drove a 1979 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, like this one, but it was white with the black top and had white walled wheels. Needless to say, it was my favorite car to drive, considering it was a Caddy and had a 5.7 L V8 engine too. http://clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/longislanddreamboats/imgs/Joann.jpg
  22. I grew up watching ESPN, so that's what I gravitate toward. It doesn't mean I like all of their content, but I still like Sportscenter. I've watched FSN highlight shows, and I must say, I'm not impressed. I just don't care much for FSN period. What I have found in watching the Brewers, and Bucks (less frequently) is that their picture is of poor quality (maybe it's just me), and I find it unwatchable. One thing I like about ESPN Sportscenter, and ESPN in general, is that the picture quality is crisp, clean, and bright; it's not dull and dark like FSN. Perhaps I put too much emphasis in that, but at least when I watch ESPN I don't have to squint to see what they are showing. Perhaps I'm the only one with this viewpoint, but it is what it is.
  23. Before the Brewers come up to bat the song that is played is from Carl Orff - "O Fortuna" I believe.
  24. Case in point: Counsell in the 8th let two straight meat fastballs go only to swing and weakly ground out. In the 9th, Braun let a meat fastball go (maybe 2), only to swing at a garbage slider. Maybe this is the curse of Johnny Estrada.
