  1. Fun fact, both JD Davis and Rowdy Tellez went to the same high school and graduated two years apart.
  2. Saw a stat that of all of the receivers that Rodgers has thrown a certain minimum number of targets, Cobb is the only one with a catch % of over 70%.
  3. One of Daniel Hudson, Raisel Iglesias, or a LHRP not on anyone's radar.
  4. Melvin always said that pitchers command more at the deadline, hitters command more in the off-season. I don't see the Brewers adding a starter. They can piggy-back until September, then call up two pitchers to help keep innings down. Like others have said, adding a veteran back-end guy helps push the less experienced arms out of high-leverage situations.
  5. Am I the only one who doesn't get the Nike "Play New" commercial?
  6. There's a difference between recruiting a guy to come there and being involved in making the decision to keep a guy there. Can we at least say that it really didn't have much to do with drafting Love?
  7. And even if they take massive pay cuts, the backups (especially at WR) have to play special teams. Would those guys have played special teams, and if they were slow/injured, would they have even been effective at special teams? (Although, an argument could be made that the special teams play couldn't have been any worse.) Curious how much Brady is consulted in personnel matters.
  8. Getting an early start on next year. Just glad he's staying in the AL.
  9. He is on quite the heater. Couldn't think of a better team to do that to. OK, maybe one.
  10. Votto just went yard again against the Cubs. After crossing home plate, gave a little double-thumbs "this guy" to the back of the jersey for the fans.
  11. One of those names is not like the others, one of those names does not belong Which one, Bowden?
  12. I think he'll see time in the OF, especially with Yelich out for the next 9 days. Doubt that Urias is going anywhere; he's the 3B for next year. Poor Clancy, put all that effort into the top prospect list and then Hummel doesn't make it past the trade deadline.
  13. I don't foresee the Brewers adding a starting pitcher, but one name that I haven't seen brought up that would be really interesting: Adam Wainwright Veteran presence, World Series experience, still pitching well, don't have to worry about innings limits, and at 39 and a free agent after the season won't cost nearly as much as others.
  14. I don't see how the Brewers bring back Garcia when Taylor provides similar if not better production at a fraction of the cost. They'll have Cain, JBJ, and Taylor who can play CF so they can focus on a bigger bat who can play corner OF, or go the cheap super-sub route with Hummel or Weston Wilson. Garcia's .750 OPS for a corner OF is very replaceable for a lot less than $10M.
  15. And resign Randall Cobb. And not cut Jake Kumerow. And give extensions to Sitton and Lang...
  16. Like corner OF? Milwaukee is 12th in the NL in Wins above Average from OF. While they are last at 1B and 13th for 3B, there are stark contrasts between the starters at those positions at the beginning of the year (Hiura, Shaw) and the current starters (Tellez: 0.2 WAR in 12 games, Urias: 1.4 WAR).
  17. If Woodruff throws a slider to Lynn this is a whole different game.
  18. Bears dump 2018 2nd round pick WR Anthony Miller to the Texans for reportedly an exchange of late round picks in the 2022 draft. The Bears traded a 4th round pick to move up five spots in the 2nd round to draft Miller.
  19. If I'm handicapping potential acquisitions, he and Caleb Thielbar I think are the two best bets along with Daniel Hudson and Brad Hand if Washington chooses to sell. I think the Brewers may be waiting to pull the trigger on a RHRP though depending on what they see from Topa on his rehab appearances and Williams' progress. If all goes well, Williams will replace Perdomo and Topa will replace Sanchez leaving room for one acquisition to replace Gustave.
  20. Yes and no. I think it had more to do with the QB locking in on him when he was in the game and ignoring other options, and when he wasn't there it forced the QB to operate within the strategy of the offense.
