  1. What about a catcher with an OPS of .744, .724, .702, and .751 over the last four seasons and plus defense? If so, he's already on the team. Oh you mean the guy with one hit in the last month? And an OPS+ of 51 through this season? I’m just not convinced he isn’t starting to fall off. That would be nice if he could get back to being a decent hitter though Yelich had one hit over 28 PAs last July. Narvaez had a .568 OPS all of last year. Guys have slumps over small samples. Might this be a small sample for Pina?

  3. Let's run with Iglesias for a bit. The Angels are 5.5 back of the wild card, with four teams ahead of them. Probably the best reliever that will be available, but a free agent and making over $9M this year will dampen his value a bit. What would it take to get Iglesias? They definitely need starting pitching and have nothing at the upper levels for prospects other than last year's #10 overall pick Detmers. Bettinger + one of Cantrelle/Rodriguez? Bettinger + Zamora?
  4. I was very surprised to see that he's listed at 5'8", 161. Shocked that a catcher is that small.
  5. 'zactly. They're 8 games up; make the Reds and Cubs burn through their rotation and bullpen trying to catch up. Plenty of off days once they get to the All-Star break and the 3 weeks after where a 6th starter won't be needed in order to have 5 days rest between starts.
  6. For veggies, I'd recommend starting with the peeled-ready-to-eat baby carrots (to get them to last longer, put them in a sealed container with water - they'll last for two weeks). I'd also recommend getting some celery (like carrots, cut them up into ~3" pieces and put them in a container with water to keep them fresh/firm/crisp) and putting a little peanut butter on them. I recommend the Skippy Natural Super Chunk for low sugar content and not having to stir it. Both are great ways to snack on veggies.
  7. I've seen lining into an unassisted double play, but how do you ground into an unassisted double play?
  8. Now Hader with the bottom half of the lineup due... liking our chances
  9. Don't know how wise it is to put a guy who prior to this year had never pitched above A-ball in a situation like this...
  10. At least Woodruff is keeping the Brewers in the game despite not having his best stuff. Can't say the same about any of the Bucks.
  11. I don't know that Hummel needs to be a starter; there will definitely be an open spot for a backup corner OF. Cain will be a FA in 2023 and Mitchell is a centerfielder so he will slide into that role. I wouldn't put Ray ahead of Hummel; Ray's value is only as a CF and it says something that Taylor has been called up and not him. Ward is a ways off; after a hot start, he's cooled off. Barring any acquisitions, in 2022 they'll have Yelich/Cain/Taylor/JBJ, leaving a backup corner OF spot. In 2023 they'll have Yelich/Mitchell/Taylor, leaving two backup roles. Since Taylor can be the backup CF, it could be two corner OF roles.
  12. Don't want to see another 2014 where they pass on a Trea Turner to draft a Kodi Medeiros and save $400k to spend on HS picks in the later rounds.
  13. Short-term fix until prices for LHRP come down later in July? Or are the Brewers going Johnny Wholestaff for Wednesday and they need a multi-inning arm for reinforcements?
  14. After pouring on 14 runs last night, the Brewers seasonal runs per game went from 4.09 (20th) to 4.22 (18th), so it took all of eight games for our seasonal mark to close that gap. Brewers now at 25-10 post trade scoring 4.91 runs per games with a position player wRC+ of 104 in the Adames era. Given the much less use of the DH in the NL, would ranking vs. the rest of the NL in terms of runs/game be more appropriate?
  15. Well, in their defense, HE WAS! lol It's the ones who were calling for him to be non-tendered who are looking pretty foolish.
  16. Jared Walsh of the Angels is tied for 6th in the AL with 18 home runs. Walsh was a 39th round pick of the Angels back in 2015 out of the University of Georgia, where his best season was his senior year when he had a .827 OPS and in 171 career games he hit a total of 7 home runs. I wonder what odds Vegas would have given back in 2015 of him even hitting one home run in the majors.
  17. Looks like pitch 6 to Baez was so good it even fooled the ump. That was strike 3.
