  1. With two surgeries and coming off of the second one, I see Episcope being just like Woodward in 2023 and signing for about $250K. Very unlikely that he gets full slot coming off of a second surgery.
  2. For a system that is short on OF prospects, I was surprised that they only drafted one, and one with a relatively low ceiling. Would have liked to see one or two power corner OF bats. Maybe Fischer has more athleticism than the scouting reports give him credit for. Maybe that's a backup plan for Brock. I guess you can always trade pitching for hitting.

  4. $447K slot value, don't see them giving him full slot with that injury history. Probably ~$200K saved here with some upside when he's healthy.
  5. Peter Kussow from Arrowhead goes #133 overall to the Mets. Last name sounded familiar, so I had to look him up. Sure enough, his dad was among the group of friends I had (and partied a lot with) in undergrad. Both of his parents are/were quite the athletes.
  6. Jacob Morrison - I had him as one of my 4th rounders. Me like.
  7. Bauer and Appenzeller still on the board. So are Mason Neville and Korbyn Dickerson. At least one of those guys will get to the Brewers.
  8. Yeah, I think they go a little over slot with him. A nice, round number of $1.5M would be really hard for a kid to pass up.
  9. Bauer and Appenzeller still on the board. Brewers certainly have some underslot from the first few picks, could be buying one of these guys down.
  10. Wow. They must really have this guy on a number to take a HS guy at 68.
  11. On a 5-man rotation that lines up Peralta to pitch the last game of the Cubs series on 7/30. I'm guessing Mis is the 5th starter post ASB, as that lines him up to pitch the 1st game of the Cubs series on 7/28. That leaves Priester to pitch the 2nd game of the Cubs series, in which I'll bet they use Hall as the opener so that it isn't three RHP three days in a row.
  12. I think anyone forced to be on the White Sox this year is one of the unluckiest hitters in MLB.
  13. Mutual option. While they rarely get mutually accepted, it has happened. And, technically, not a free agent.
  14. The #1 thing that reduces WiFi range is interference from other WiFi signals, followed by concrete walls. If the cabins are off in the woods, then there shouldn't be other WiFi interference and thus a mesh system might work, provided the cabins don't have concrete walls. How does your wife's aunt and uncle currently get WiFi in their cabin? Cable, fiber optic, satellite? If cable, you can just split the cable outside and run that cable to the other cabin, but that cable will need to get inside grandma's cabin. If grandma's cabin doesn't currently have cable going into it... then that's going to require professional installation, unless there's a garage that has electrical power you can run the cable into. But for the time and effort it would take to dig a 200' ditch to bury the cable... why not just get internet installed at grandma's cabin by the same provider at her aunt/uncle's cabin and put it on her aunt/uncle's bill?
  15. Megill hitting 101.9 and 101.6. Might be a little friendly competition in the clubhouse with Miz.
  16. And that's why he hasn't been used in many high leverage situations. He still has bouts of wildness.
  17. WAR is a counting stat. It has a direct correlation with plate appearances. Some players have fewer plate appearances than others because of injuries or being behind another better player at the same position. That doesn't make them a worse player because they have a lower WAR. wRC+ normalizes for plate appearances. And I'd argue that what a player is doing today is what's important, not what a player did 4-6 years ago when he had a 63 and 82 wRC+, lowering his career wRC+ (or WAR, whatever the preferred measure is).
