Yes, I would feel comfortable investing with them because I've known them for 30 years and I know how they think. But they don't live anywhere near me and I have another family friend who is a financial advisor and my parents have referred so many people to him that he gives me free investment advice. I can't speak to company culture, but I'd ask any investment advisor why they went to work for EJ/Merrill Lynch/whoever as opposed to another firm and if they've worked for them their entire career.

What were you wrong about? How do I access to my account to be able to see my holdings & transactions? (If they say you can't, run.) Make sure you get account-generated statements and research where your funds are held. Here's my retirement number. How do I get there from here? What are your fees? How are they paid? They can go over the cap because they are still turning a profit due to revenue sharing. Each NFL team gets $250M/year in revenue from the national TV contracts. Makes it easy to go "all-in".

Bit of an overreaction, don't you think? You don't think that they can get eight wins from Western Michigan, South Dakota, Purdue, Rutgers, Northwestern, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota? If you watched USC towards the end of the season you would know that they are nothing to fear - they gave up 41 to Colorado, 41 to Arizona, 48 to Notre Dame, 34 to Utah, 49 to Cal(!), 52 to Washington, 36 to Oregon, and 38 to UCLA and lost 5 of their last 6. They're losing Williams to the NFL and at last check had 15 players in the transfer portal including a 5-star freshman QB. The remaining three are really tough but they are all at home. Last time they played Oregon they should have beat them in the 2019 Rose Bowl if it wasn't for a botched punt and a bad pass interference call.

I don't think that any defensive scheme was going to overcome the talent gap between their DL and OLB and LSU's offense. They were going to have to outscore them, and to their credit, they almost did. Heck of a lot better than being an Iowa fan today. Ooof.

The only thing I can think of is that they were down to essentially one RB the entire 2nd half and Acker was playing every play and was probably gassed and running on fumes. Otherwise, yeah, you need to run a draw somewhere there. Mordecai also tried to do too much - on 2nd and 2 if the quick read isn't there, throw it away right away or tuck it and run. That play, and then the hurry-up to lose five yards on the 1 yard line. Two plays cost them the game.

Right now the Packers are at ~$233M in allocated cap for 2024 with a projected salary cap of ~$242M. Bakhtiari release would clear $21M of cap space. Releasing Clark wouldn't do anything because of the void years on his contract pulling those years forward, resulting in a net savings of only $3M. Bakh is the only significant cap saver from a release standpoint; a Clark extension could create space. Perhaps the biggest problem that nobody is talking about is what if anything the networks are going to be willing to pay for these "bowl" games that aren't CFP playoff games moving forward if this is the quality of performance they will get. With so many players transferring or opting out you end up with what happened in the Orange Bowl. Or with Texas A&M having only 48 scholarship players available for their bowl game. Or Minnesota throwing for 26 yards... and winning. Who would have ever thought that the Orange Bowl between Georgia and Florida State would have ended up like this? Fan attendance is a fraction of what the conferences/schools receive for participating in that "bowl" game. Fan attendance will dwindle, but that won't have nearly the effect of what will happen if the TV revenue dwindles. The reason the NCAA has been so laissez-faire about this is because they are afraid of getting sued for anti-trust practices. But what will they do if that TV revenue goes away? Interesting that while Brock Bowers opted out, Carson Beck, Ladd McConkey, Javon Bullard, Tykee Smith, Sedrick Van Pran, and other draft-eligible Bulldogs played. Some of it comes down to player leadership.

OMG, I've sent them feedback five times. I think they, or possibly Ford/Lincoln, also made some changes to the vehicle app a couple of weeks ago which contributed to me getting into a "minor" accident that did $5,800 in damage to my vehicle. I was in a parking garage and I turned on my vehicle and it changed the channel on me and I couldn't change the channel with my steering wheel controls. Giants had a losing record last year. I don't see why they'd go all-in for one year with Burnes, especially with the Dodgers going all-in on Ohtani and Yamamoto. Strider had a 5.60 ERA in Sept/Oct last year; peripherals suggested better, .705 OPS-A, but he gave up 4 HRs in two starts in the playoffs. Fried only pitched twice after 9/12 and got rocked in the playoffs. Smith-Swawver didn't even throw 100 innings last year; can't count on him for 180 innings through the playoffs. Braves need a horse.

Yankees are probably a good bet. Hampton would need to be the headliner. Would think that George Lombard or Roderick Arias would need to be involved given the Brewers love for collecting SS. Given how far away Arias and Lombard are from the majors, the Brewers will likely need a 3rd piece to offset that risk, perhaps a Henry Lalane, Brock Selvidge, or Kyle Carr. Hampton, one of Lombard/Arias, one of Lalane/Selvidge/Carr. That would work. I still think the Braves are right there with the Yankees. Remember how their starting pitching wilted down the stretch; they need a horse they can ride through October. One of Smith-Shawver/Waldrep plus Owen Murphy and J.R. Ritchie would be a good return.

This misses the point - who is going to take over as DC after they fire him? Second, it's not "mid-season" - there's three games left. Third, if "nobody is ever safe"... then why would someone want to work for you?

1) What is firing Barry at this point of the season going to do? Yeah, maybe there's a slim chance they make the playoffs but they're not likely going anywhere, especially with such a young team that is inexperienced in the playoffs. They weren't making the Super Bowl short of a miracle no matter what they did this season. B) If they did fire him, who would replace him? At this point in the season any good replacement is going to be employed by someone else. Who on the current staff would be an upgrade? Who would they drag out of retirement for three games? I understand the sentiment and want him gone as well, but at this point in the season the time for that is the day after the season ends. Just because MLF says that he isn't firing him right now doesn't mean that he isn't going to. In leadership, there is a fine line between disloyalty and being too loyal. If you fire people too soon/frequently, nobody good will want to come there because they'd be afraid of being fired for one bad season and then you end up with the Carolina Panthers. The other end of the spectrum is just as dangerous as waiting too long.
