    The deal goes through the 2034 season, so I'm thinking longer than that.

    It's possible that agents for those players have contingency deals in place with those teams in the event that those teams do not sign Ohtani. $50M+/year, or whatever his market rate is, can buy multiple players if they strike out on Ohtani.

    Garver has played exactly one inning at 1B over the last two seasons, and a grand total of 14 innings over the last five seasons. He's not a 1B. That, and Yelich and Contreras combined for 53 games at DH last season and that number's not decreasing. Garver would be a waste of resources for either sitting on the bench or being a bad defender at 1B.

    The Brewers have not shown a propensity to let assets expire. I think some of the FA SPs need to come off of the market first, and then the teams who lose out on those FA's - or see the length and AAVs of those FA contracts and don't want to hamstring the org for years or go over the luxury tax - start to become more desperate.

    I don't believe that if a player declines his option that a team has to pay the buyout. I believe that the team only has to pay the buyout if the club option is declined.

    Four. Salt Lake City is the third and New Orleans is the fourth when going by metropolitan statistical area. Milwaukee is #40, OKC is #42, Memphis is #44, SLC is #46, New Orleans is #57. Portland is #26.

    But that "#1" team was widely regarded as having a weak schedule and beat nobody outside of their conference of any significance. That "#1" team's best non-conference win was against a 6-6 ACC team and won 31-23, hardly in dominant fashion. Again, rewind one week and would anyone have voted Alabama in after watching the game against Auburn?

    None of the Packers remaining opponents have a winning record. Viqueens are 6-6. There is a very real chance that they run the table and finish 11-6, very good chance they go at least 4-1 and finish 10-7.
