  1. Add the starting LG to that list
  2. 80's too...
  3. Some freezing cold takes the first couple of pages in this thread...
  4. According to some we should have DFA'd Canha after he got off to a slow start his first week with the Brewers.
  5. Maybe Wisconsin needs an opener to play the first half? First half and first drive of the 2nd half were terrible. Rest of the game was a great offensive performance. Saw big improvements in play calling and blocking in the 2nd half, more using play action to open up the passing game as well as have the TEs come back across the line to seal off the OLB/S who were crashing down on run plays. Ashcraft had an awful first half, whiffed on several blocks that blew up plays. LG missed a safety blitz that blew up another 3rd down play, but to the safety's credit, it looked like he used the umpire to hide himself before blitzing. That being said, the LG was too quick to double on the DE because nobody was lining up in front of him instead of backing up, looking around, then doubling. Need to figure out their pass defense. Going to be a 2011 type of defense where they will have to figure it out without a lot of good pass rushers.
  6. Other than have an .830 OPS and be on pace for another 35 HR season as of June 1st? Other than have a .991 OPS the first 21 PA's after coming back from the DL?
  7. 1) Because Abraham Toro isn't going to put up a .886 OPS over 100 plate appearances like Tellez did in March/April of this season. B) Tellez put up a .991 OPS over his first 21 plate appearances in August after coming off of the DL.
  8. If you DFA players every time someone has a bad month or two you will have a lot of players who will go on to have success with other teams.
  9. 11, we hardly knew ye...
  10. An L is an L, even if it's ugly. 5.5 up now.
  11. Welp, when you're up 6-0 in the 9th you throw strikes and make the other team hit their way back in it. And to their credit, the Cubs have done just that. Now get two damn outs without giving up two more runs.
  12. And with only 3 outs left. Edit: and Stroman pitching out of the bullpen. Stroman not ready to go back to the rotation is huge.
  13. With the trade deadline being relatively early in football (10/31, 4pm Eastern this year), they might be clearing cap space to be able to acquire someone at the deadline. A player who is making, say, $10M this year might fit under the cap after week 8 on 10/31 if they only need to pay him $5.6M the rest of the way.
  14. True. Lauer, then. Junk and Small are the only other options.
  15. The converse is the reason for not bringing up Chourio - you don't want to kill his confidence by having him jump two levels to the majors when he may not be ready. Chourio's OPS in August was .718 and in September is .705. Doesn't scream "significant upgrade" over Wiemer. In fact, Chourio's OPS this season has been under .800 every month except for a scorching hot July. Wiemer's not going anywhere until both Canha and Perkins are ready to go. And at this point, no reason to send him down to burn an option.
  16. He can't come back up for 15 days, though, and the Brewers have 10 more in a row. I think we see Gasser on 9/19 in place of Vieira.
  17. Every team has games they lost that they should have won. ATL recently lost a series at home to STL, and ATL scored 20 runs over the three games. One of the games they lost was started by Strider, and they scored 6 runs.
  18. An FDA advisory panel voted 16-0 that the main ingredient in Sudafed, Nyquil, and Benadryl is ineffective. Very little of the drug actually get to the nose and sinuses to relieve congestion. Anyone who has ever taken Sudafed, Nyquil, or Benadryl already knows this.
  19. I don't think Rodgers is wrong about that. Bakh never cut block anyone. Maybe that's because he was just that damn good. Maybe Rodgers is just used to having one of the best in the business on his blind side. Maybe it's because the Packers have had better OCs/line coaches than they've been given credit for.
  20. The tempo "check with me" offense they run/ran at Ohio State doesn't help either. It doesn't teach players to read defenses and make decisions coming up to the line. They just look over at the cards being held up and do what the card says.
  21. In 1991 the Bears had the #22 overall pick. They drafted Stan Thomas, OT, Texas. He started seven games in his career. Eleven picks later, the Atlanta Falcons drafted Brett Favre. In 2005 the Bears had the #4 overall pick. They drafted Cedric Benson, RB, Texas. He lasted three season there before being released. Twenty picks later, the Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers. In 2020 the Bears had the #19 overall pick, but they traded it to the Raiders for Khalil Mack. Seven picks later, the Packers drafted Jordan Love. Meanwhile, during that time the Bears drafted Will Furrer, Cade McNown, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Mitch Trubisky, and Justin Fields in the top four rounds. The Bears had a chance to draft all three of them.
  22. Some have given Megill the nickname "Sasquatch".
  23. Every day Northwestern thanks their lucky stars that the Big Ten has historically been very good at football.
