  1. Fortunately, Mrs. Samurai told me this week's game is on Friday. Zoinks!
  2. Yeah... but we all know that any Quarterback out of THE Ohio State University is automatically going to be a super star, right? https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/justin-fields-ohio-state-qbs-nfl-draft-history/hu5wl7fz7k8s17n9f3w5ioero
  3. Apart from his "Prime" schtick, he says the right things. I was not going to watch the 60 minutes interview, but ended up watching. The line to me was something similar to, "I don't only want them to success on the field, but off the field and in the classroom." We will see how long that goes. I am pulling for him to be successful as a coach and leader of young men.
  4. I couldn't find a Rodney Dangerfield gif... but when / if they get to two... 😎
  5. I don't remember after which play early in the third quarter I heard this, but the offensive finally got lit up. Lots of f-bombs from the coaches. They finally played smarter after that.
  6. I got to sit towards the bottom on the home side in the game against Ga. Southern. I observed a few things I thought were interesting. Braelon Allen was in the medical tent before the game. I had heard rumors that he had tweaked something during the week and he did get additional tape before the game. I believe that is why he was not in the first series and why he didn't get as many carries early in the game. I am not sure that Mordecai has good chemistry with his receivers. There was one time in particular where Williams must have not run the right route and you could hear Mordecai yell at him. The next play, Williams was wide open for a 5-7 yard hook on the right side, and Mordecai threw into coverage instead. Back to Mordecai -- I believe chemistry is one big reason why the passing game isn't what we are expecting. Also, there are things that are clear from the 12th row over and over and over and he either doesn't see it, or chooses not to hit the easier routes. Actually, I don't recall seeing Mordecai sitting with the other quarterbacks at all (that was literally right in front of us). This might carry to communicating with the receivers, too. I can't say for sure. I would like to see Mordecai keep the ball on the quick handoff option. He could have run for another 100 yards if he did. The defensive backs do not talk. They do not "hand off" receivers. They do not anticipate the quick pass because they know they are going to get beat deep. If they are defending, they rarely look back to the ball. I think the last part was evident on TV. The turning point was indeed in the 3rd quarter when one of the coaches finally yelled at the offensive line: "You need to get your F****** S*** together." I do not think that Tressel has his guys prepared at the beginning of the game. Sure -- they made adjustments at halftime, but what is going to happen against OSU, Illinois, or <gasp> Minnesota? I understand Tressel has his system and "needs his guys," but an exceptional Defensive Coordinator would be able to adapt his defense to the personnel he has. The jury is out for me, but consider me unimpressed and uninspired. All in all, it was a lot of fun on Saturday.
  7. It isn't like his swing suddenly "got weird." Perhaps they were OK with him moving his hands all over the place as the pitcher is delivering the pitch. That is why they are there, and I'm sitting in a chair posting on Brewerfanatic 😉
  8. Don Hudson (Didn't know he wore #14)
  9. I am not sure if the following site is reliable. It does agree with your number of 13. Playoff Status Link
  10. I was wondering if the surface might have had something to do with the injury. MetLife Stadium has Fieldturf. However, M&T Bank Stadium, where Dobbins was playing, has a natural Bermuda grass. Freak injuries for both.
  11. The reply (excuse) is that they would simply walk the bases loaded anyway. If the Brewers were hitting the ball today, I could understand not bunting (ok... not really). Small ball is very rarely used by the Brewers.
  12. The Brewers haven't been able to hit well, either, today. 1st and 2nd with nobody out might have warranted a bunt?
  13. I was actually very disappointed at how the Yankees were playing. This is the second game in a row where they were extremely sloppy and almost seemed like they didn't really want to be out there. I can see why there was a dumpster fire of players on the waiver wire. What an embarrassment. On the other hand, I'm glad they are playing that way against the Brewers 😉
  14. Yeah... I'm disappointed with the game. Even if the officiating was bad, Wisconsin beat themselves. Stupid penalties Two... ok... three turnovers. The fumbles by Mordecai were squarely on the left side of his offensive line. Mrs. Samurai and I were both calling for Tressel to be fired in the first half. Zero ingenuity on the pass rush. Defensive backs completely clueless on what to do. In the second half, Turner came back. If he made that much of a difference, then he should be a first-round draft pick. The defense seemed to not be ready. Another term would be ill-prepared. The zone got picked apart. When blitzing a mobile quarterback, keep the vertical containment along with the horizontal containment. Geesch! Too many missed tackles. There were times where the tackling was good, but overall, it was not good. I was encouraged by a few things, though: Mordecai showed that he can move the ball quickly. The defense did show signs of playing well. Maybe the defensive backs are understanding how to pass off receivers? The Field Goal kicker was solid. The Punter did a 180 from last week. Will be in attendance for the game next week. Hopefully they come out and dominate.
  15. Seems like the MLB pitchers found his weakness -- throw him a hook.
  16. Didn't Clemson have the ball 1st and Goal at the 1 twice and not score? Ball security be damned!
  17. Regarding the defense: It appeared the DBs were not quite on the same page earlier in the game. There is definitely a different pace in a live game vs. a scrimmage. They will need to do better next week. Blitzing seemed to be a little plain Jane. That might be because I have been used to seeing Leonard do some complex things along with it being the first time they were playing under Tressell. To me, the defense is going to be the weak point of this team -- not the offense. QB Play: I don't remember too many times where Mordecai was moved out of the pocket. I don't know if Longo typically moves his QBs or not. The decisions he made on the two interceptions were not only poor, but very poor. Special teams: Is this punter for real? Maybe that is an area where Fickell needs to focus his recruiting efforts.
  18. Was he a needle-mover?
  19. Is it the 2023 USAU Triple Crown Tour Pro Championships at Uihlein?
  20. It appears that it is also coming from third world countries from which the materials are being mined. It seems a little disingenuous to disregard the mining effects. Oil companies are willing to look the other way to make sure they are getting what they want. EV companies and its subsidiaries do that, too. I would agree, though, that it isn't to the extent of the oil companies.
  21. I saw this video that shows how lithium mining may not be the best for the environment, either.
  22. Be careful when mentioning The Athletic. I was expecting to get slapped by a paywall... 😉
  23. I have a feeling his new found ownership in Norwich City is what is keeping him out of his seats at AmFam field.
