  1. According to the introductory presser, there will be changes: "There has to be..."
  2. I was a little concerned when the Badgers had 71 points from 8:41 until 3:24. They were jacking up threes, not touching the post, and seemed to be almost lazy on offense. I understand that they were up by 18 when that started, but it was a little frustrating.
  3. I saw an interesting tidbit on a TNT broadcast that said the Bucks have had one of the easiest Strength of Schedules up to this point. From now on, it will be one of the toughest. According to this site, they have the toughest road: https://www.tankathon.com/remaining_schedule_strength Here is ESPN stating they have had the easiest so far: https://www.espn.com/nba/stats/rpi/_/sort/SOS So, Griffin is 30-13 with the easiest schedule. Knowing that the SOS was going to get much tougher helped them make the decision.
  4. I was hoping this would be a guy they would bring on. Let's GOOOOOOO!
  5. Hopefully whoever they bring in (Doc Rivers is apparently at the top of the list) can wave a magic wand and have them play defense.
  6. Ron Rivera? The only problem is that he might be gone after one year taking a new HC job. Jim Leonard? Not sure if he is ready for prime time at the NFL level, though. Matt Patricia? DC for a really good Patriots defense before he took the Lions HC position.
  7. I have a feeling the conditions of the roads in Milwaukee is comparable. ☹️
  8. After seeing the post on the What's Bugging You board about AAA and the wait for car batteries, I thought of a question: What happens if a person "runs out of power" (akin to running out of gas)? Would they need to get towed? Is there a service that would have a generator or something that would allow them to charge the EV for a 20 mile trip to get to a charging station?
  9. We were without power for 12 hours. This is the first time we had a power outage like this in the 25 years I lived in my suburban Milwaukee home. I had done a little bit of research. One thing I found is only for members of Costco. https://www.costco.com/generac-home-standby-generators.html There are some other solutions where you can have an electrician add circuits to the house that identify key systems as critical. Then, there is a connection on the back of the house with a switch. You would plug in a portable generator and flip the switch. Only the key items would be powered. As associate of my wife had put in a full-home Generac solution, but did not disclose the price. My guess it was well above 10K.
  10. In all fairness to Joe Barry, if the Packers get destroyed this weekend, the 9ers have a lot more talent at the skill positions than Dallas. We are led to believe Dallas is better because of the following formula: [Player Skill] * [Dallas Coefficient] = [Perceived Value] Even so, I would expect to see a competitive game which means Joe Barry is doing his job. As soon as we need to employ James Webb to find the secondary, then the writing is on the wall.
  11. The grass isn't always greener (e.g. new coach).
  12. I certainly want to echo this sentiment. This is why I don't post as often on certain Badger sites as I used to. Thank you, mods, for slapping people on the wrist privately when needed (I was the recipient of one such slap, btw).
  13. I think the standalone subscription is 19.99 a month now, isn't it. We get it with Fubo. If Bally Sports goes away, we will probably get rid of Fubo and go back to YoutubeTV.
  14. Isn't it obvious? Mark A actually has control of almost every team in MLB. Since he is so cheap, nobody is spending frivolously. or... As other people have mentioned, the financial aspect of baseball isn't as cut and dry as the lay person thinks it is.
  15. How much would you be willing to pay on top of the existing Prime Video subscription cost to get RSNs? I'm curious if the other programming would just go away and they would only focus on the sports events.
  16. Mrs. Samurai and I were talking about this very thing last night. Not only are batteries not as efficient as in warmer climates, but it is impossible to charge one when we lose power. We lost power for a little over 12 hours during the last storm in the Milwaukee area. If I had let my EV battery level get too low, it wouldn't have charged. I might have had to decide between my EV or my electric snowblower. Of course the response would be "get solar." Not sure how solar performs when it is under a foot of snow and it is cloudy. Like you said: "Widespread EVs for personal use have a purpose in the near future...just not everywhere and definitely not for everyone." It frustrates me when there are incentives to purchase items like EVs, and they are either not practical or simply not usable for everybody.
  17. A much different storyline for the the Alabama / Wisconsin game this fall now that Saban is gone.
  18. I don't disagree with his assessment. However, there is inconsistency on both sides of the ball. The game is so much different than what it was 20 years ago.
  19. A good transfer portal tracker: https://wisconsin.rivals.com/news/wisconsin-badgers-transfer-portal-tracker
  20. Peeps -- I am torn. I recently said that Joe Barry has to be fired. Then, there are two good defensive efforts. Yes, the Vikings and Bears aren't on the same level as a Bills, Dolphins, or 9'ers offense, but the defense did show up. What am I missing? Hello everybody: My name is Samurai Bucky and I am a waffler...
  21. Nice win... and great singing during the medal presentation 😉
