  1. I heard on Golic and Wingo (fka Mike and Mike) yesterday how there may be a push to allow these kids to hire agents before going to college. Sorry, but that would be a bad idea. I have an idea that "agents" or "AAU Coaches" have agreements with these top-tier schools. The reason -- Duke, Kentucky, etc. will be able to get you to the NBA via the one-and-done rule. I have a relationship with , so go to that school. Just remember me when you get to the NBA, ok?
  2. I guess there is only one thing for them to do. Win the whole f*****' thing... (B1G Tourney) I spoke to a Gopher fan and he complained that Happ constantly shoulders, chicken wings, and creates space with his arms and never gets called. However, if somebody from an opposing team sneezes, it gets called. I look at the charges taken by Davidson. There was one foul called against him where the NW guard put down his shoulder. That same play was later called a charge. There was also a foul where Davidson obviously flopped. The result? He got called for the foul. I have Cardinal-colored glasses, I guess.
  3. So... are you going to delete your twitter account? Let's get Cobb on the payroll!
  4. That is three straight losses for Purdon't. Not a good time to start to choke. Penn State had OSU's number... again! Go figure.
  5. What happens when you are one of the bosses? You know, one of those "owners" who is out to screw over the little guy?
  6. What the freaking world???? Please don't always hit "Reply to All" when you get an email sent to the entire (athletic) team! GAME -- sorry to hear...
  7. I still have my T-Shirt of the Bleacher Creatures from the late 80's with Dickie V. It has him talking to Steve Yoder about how the Badgers will actually make the Big Dance -- and he doesn't mean the NIT... Back then, it was an accomplishment when they made the NIT. That said, the poor play and lack of talent on this team has caused me to spend my time doing things that are more productive. You know, like washing out my water pik...
  8. I may be missing the boat, but are the Brewers part of this "collusion?" It seems like they are willing to increase the salary of their club for their players from $63M (http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm) to possibly around $87M (https://www.brewcrewball.com/2018/1/30/16943418/milwaukee-brewers-2018-payroll-projection-update-3). That is a 37.5% increase! I'm guessing the players are complaining more about the big market teams. Let me guess... the owners should take a loss or break even? I suppose Arte Moreno shouldn't make more than Albert Pujols, right? What's a cool $25M a year amongst friends? I didn't realize how little minor league players make. Isn't it something like $12K/year? I don't think they should be making $100K, but $12K? I'm sure the players union doesn't give a rat's back side about them. I work in a struggling business that due to many circumstances, is forcing some of the ownership to not take a paycheck. I have also not taken a paycheck at times. Neither side -- especially the players -- have any sympathy from me. I certainly won't cry over this as I'm working extra hours this weekend to keep the company going. Perspective...
  9. I'll give Brad Soderberg Greg Gard until the end of next year. I can understand that there are defensive schemes that won't be understood by young players, so if he can't teach them by next year, it is time to get somebody else. Number of turnovers? Crazy bad Lack of defense? Uggh... Put Ethan Happ in bubble wrap, otherwise we are in even more trouble.
  10. I think they call them "cooked links": http://www.johnsonville.com/lines/smoked.html Brat selections: http://www.johnsonville.com/lines/brats.html All products: http://www.johnsonville.com/products.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAnabTBRA6EiwAemvBd77f7KTyIXOjJhVncgqrP5VZepJ-0Uq1_5SCPoXegasaE8OG2fvuJRoCcNQQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  11. I don't know if this would help or not. When I had Vonage, I disconnected my existing phone wiring from the "outside" in the basement. I then plugged in my RJ11 from the Out jack on the Vonage box to one of the jacks on the house. Voila! It worked. I don't remember if I had to get a cross connect or not. I'm probably getting it mixed up with RJ45 connections.
  12. Considered this, I have not. A good theory you have proposed.
  13. +1 After seeing it a second time, I was able to notice a few other details. Of course, I had seen a number of YouTube videos between the viewings which helped, too. I have read people arguing that the casino scene was support do point out social injustice. Perhaps I'm numb to it, but how would that be different than Indiana Jones, or many other movies. I believe that Snoke is not dead. How did Rey and Kylo keep their force connection after Snoke died (gotta love the tongue sticking out after he was chopped in half). Using the Yoda puppet was cool, as well.
  14. Finished up (for the most part) Assassin's Creed: Origins on the XBox One. Now moving onto COD WWII. Very busy, lately, and my son doesn't always want to play multiplayer. LOL
  15. Will that overcome the fact that Frost is heading to Nebraska?
  16. This is not your father's batting lineup...
  17. I can't remember if it was Colin Cowherd or Joel Klatt that said: "It is an invitational, not a playoff." Then you have others that say that the 7-1 Big Ten record is not reflective of the Big Ten being a better conference than the SEC. Sure, Alabama might be the best team in the country, but once you get to the fourth or fifth best member of the SEC, it becomes a joke. Hopefully, Leonard can keep the defense at a high level. I think they are losing 9-10 starters on defense?
  18. My kids were watching season 1 (maybe episode 5 or 8?). I walk by and hear the background music. "Hey, that is Green Desert from Tangerine Dream!" I'm such a dork... but I was right LOL
  19. ... and only playing 8 conference games as opposed to 9...
  20. Well done...
  21. I think it has been around 9 months since we left Dish Network. Our 12-year experience was great, but our price was around $110/month. It was certainly something different, but it was one of the best decisions we made. We now have a Roku Streaming Stick on our three TVs. We did something similar as one poster listed above to use an OTA antenna. We do notice that when watching sporting events via the Internet, it may be 30 - 60 seconds behind. Funny when you receive a notice on your phone about a play, but it hasn't happened on TV, yet.
  22. Yea, Mich State should be a great team. Indiana, Michigan, and Purdue will be really good. Wisconsin, of course, will be better than predicted. Then there could be a couple surprises like Minnesota, Maryland, Iowa. Indiana lost by 21 to a Larry Bird-less Indiana State. They are currently 86 in Pomeroy. Really good is relative, but Im not seeing it. Speaking of Pomeroy, this may be my favorite rankings site: https://www.mratings.com/cb/compare.htm
  23. If you are strictly talking from a "number of games" and physicality standpoint, you are correct. However a D3 school doesn't have the travel requirements of a D1 program. UW Whitewater Destinations: (http://www.uwwsports.com/schedule.aspx?path=football): Bloomington, ILL Moorhead, Minn St. Louis, MO Oshkosh River Falls Stevens Point Wisconsin Destinations: (http://www.uwbadgers.com/schedule.aspx?path=football) Provo, UT Lincoln, NB Champaign, ILL Bloomington, IN Minneapolis, MN Indianapolis, IN I am not sure about the D1 schedule, but I am sure that nobody goes to class the day before away games due to travel requirements. So from the academic standpoint, I believe a D1 schedule is more demanding.
