  1. Boy, is that cool. After decades of feeling geeky for being the only one (in my immediate world) into the Brewers, it's nice to have company, even beyond this site.
  2. Beer truck overturns on Hwy 151 Somehow, it seems like Homer Simpson should be alerted to this.
  3. /rubbing eyes/ Is this a rally? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: Woah, 3 hits for the Loop? Nice. Real nice.
  4. Oh, wow. Have a fun and safe trip!
  5. Well, Prince showed the FOX audience that he can do more than hit dingers. I'm pleased by that. Edit: Thanks, uecker9. I keep forgetting about 100.5. I've already got Gameday Audio on, though.
  6. I wish I could stay to comment more tonight, but I have to mention a few things: Starting lineups: How long was that Pujols ovation/lovefest? I know Brewers fans gave it up similarly for Big Richie, but Joe Buck wasn't encouraging us to do it. Boos: Not sure who got more, Braun or the President. I'm afraid I'm not surprised either way. First pitch: Did they decide not to show the ball being caught in case the President totally missed the plate? National anthem: I don't even have music training like craigharmann, but I thought the same thing - "did she just change keys?" Awesome showing by Lincecum and Pujols in the top of the first: I'll say nothing. Edit: And I still can't believe no Madison station is carrying the radio broadcast of this game. That is disappointing.
  7. Fair or not, I'll never be able to take chef Jerry Garcia seriously again. Ever.
  8. My facebook page has a link to a Brewers' press release that says the 5000 tickets sold in 12 minutes - to a combination of phone, internet and in-person customers. That's a heck of a response.
  9. Does this site count as a hobby?
  10. On the radio this morning the sports guy said that Manny Acta "was relieved of his duties" as Nationals manager. That seemed apt.
  11. I'm posting here just to highlight my new, special all-star break edition signature, courtesy of zzzmanwitz and the in-derby chat. Good night, everybody.
  12. Heir to the throne, baby.
  13. I would like to humbly point out that I made a similar zinger earlier tonight in the chat.
  14. Point taken, but I'd rather watch Prince hit without a picture-in-picture of Baseball Jesus in the corner of the screen. Anyone game for an in-derby chat? I'm in there, at least until Prince's next round (hawing said hopefully).
  15. The S.O. commented on the very same thing today, MNoD. Not that we have any answers for you, but you weren't alone in wondering. In the "things I noticed" department, it looked like Manny (theirs) and Cameron were jawing some after Manny's first hit of the day.
  16. Will the day ever come when the Brewers' entire starting rotation is made up of former Cardinals? (I'm not saying the Mulder idea is without merit)
  17. Well...it was amusing when Ken Macha presented Ryan and Prince with their all-star jerseys before the game, then presented one to Hoffman, only to have it be another Braun jersey, which Trevor promptly turned around. Then things headed south. It's not that I can't handle losses - got plenty of experience watching those - but when the Brewers are down almost immediately out of the gate, it's disheartening. So I guess I'm glad for a break, and hope it clears the Brewers' heads or whatever is messed up. Also, happy birthday, davego.
  18. Not to burst your balloon (or beach ball), but they also played the "Excellent!" clip during Mike's start on June 30.
  19. Good effort all around. It would have been nicer yet to maintain the shutout, but considering how rare that's been for Brewers pitching this year, I'm satisfied with Burns' outing. Keep up the good work on Sunday, Brewers, and end the so-called first half on a brighter note.
  20. Mota's in...baseballs taking flight. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  21. Given that he's here in an emergency role, he has generally met my expectations, and occasionally exceeded them. After last night, I'm not sure I want to see the bullpen in the mid-5th.
  22. Were the side panels open? I wasn't at the HRD (gave up my ticket for the S.O.'s nephew) and remember watching from my air conditioned living room as it stormed like mad in Milwaukee.
