  1. Call it a "fan crush" section and it accommodates everyone.
  2. I really don't think I have a taunting personality (quite the opposite), but sheethead's quote above compels, nay, forces me to post this: http://images.amazon.com/images/G/01/video/stills/muppets5-large.jpg And I've got to agree with earlier posts tonight: I'm often ambivalent about Ryan's reactions to home runs, but against the Cubs, he can strut all he wants, and I'll have his back. I doubt he needs me to have his back, but I'm there. Nice work, Brewers. Don't let up.
  3. My first thought upon hearing about this deal on the radio: "Ryan Freel, Brewer Killer?" I'd like to be wrong, but that phrase sounds distressingly plausible.
  4. If ever there were a Brewerfan.net Legend, it would be Russell. It's hard to imagine you not agreeing, Brian.
  5. We sold our tickets (to a Brewers fan, fear not), so I fully expect that something extraordinary will happen tonight.
  6. After the extreme depth of familiarity with Major League (shown by so many of you in a thread earlier this season), I think we should have a special Brewerfan screening of that classic 1989 baseball flick.
  7. Well, with a Cubs series starting tonight, for the sake of our collective health, I'll kill pitchleague's joy and edit the subject line. Besides, he's been fired, so "to be fired" is no longer quite accurate. Edit: And his successor has been named.
  8. Considering how often Anchorman is quoted/referenced on this forum, I thought you guys would be all over that movie selection. Given our distance from Milwaukee, I don't think this will be workable for us, since we're kind of past the age of all-nighters. But if I lived closer, I'd be pumped about the Sandlot/Major League set, at least. Seems it would be smart for the Brewers to allow tailgating. I can't imagine they'd search vehicles for other carry-in food.
  9. Yeah, had you shown me the two final scores in this series and the pitching matchups, much as I like Manny, I would have matched the 15-3 win with tonight's game and the 7-6 loss with Wednesday's. This is not to say that I can't accept a 3-1 mini-road trip.
  10. So...Votto and Phillips have the flu? Is it that flu? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  11. There have been racing sausage keychain giveaways the last three seasons. The Italian was in 2008, Polish in '07 and the Brat in '06. The next keychain giveaway is July 12 (Sunday of the Dodgers series). I'm going out on a limb and guessing Hot Dog. This eBay link has a photo of the Italian from last year.
  12. I can't believe I'm the first to make a "Brewers, Brewers, keep turning up the heat!" post in this thread.
  13. http://www.fangraphs.com/lgraphs/20090506_Brewers_Reds_126235946_home.png
  14. OK, done. It can be modified again if a link becomes available.
  15. You are a communist.Well, then diskono and I are both communists, because I dislike ketchup too. However, I do like secret stadium sauce. Does that have any redemptive value?
  16. I look at the dejected forum posts (excluding the cuss- and hate-filled ones), and see the nearly empty PNC Park and recall the extent to which that matched our fan lives in 2003. So I have some empathy for Pirate fans...but it's a finite amount. Thanks, Pittsburgh, you've been swell, see you in July. Brewers, Brewers, keep turning up the heat.
  17. As a May 14 ticket holder, I think I could find a silver lining in skipping a start for Manny that week. But I'm open to seeing anyone in the starting rotation.
  18. I'm pretty sure I have had Ting somewhere in my life, and I remember liking it There was (maybe still is? I could hope) Ting soda (or Ting pop, whichever way you roll) in Wisconsin: Link The Jamaican beverage is different. Besides my congratulations to the recently/soon to be married posters, that's all I can contribute to this thread.
  19. Gah, Rick Ankiel collided with the outfield wall, as he caught a long drive from Philadelphia's Pedro Feliz. He left on a stretcher and in a neck brace. ESPN link I don't know if I'll ever be a STL fan, but I certainly hope he's OK.
  20. The Sunday (5/10) tickets are sold. The Friday tickets are still available. Edit: The Friday tickets are now sold too.
  21. Another small detail I noted during Sunday's game: Cory Provus was wearing glasses that made him look 15 years older than he is.
  22. Link from brewers.com The S.O. and I each have employees graduating this time, so we might go check it out. Is anyone here graduating from UW-Madison this May?
