  1. If the appeal is reversed and he has a no-hitter, yes. If it isn't, and he throws a(nother) no-hitter later this season, yes. If neither of those things happens, then maybe. If a valid exception exists to wallus' statement a few posts up, CC might be it.
  2. actually I can't wait to see craig counsell in a playoff at bat for the brewers I think most of us can't wait to see a playoff at bat for the Brewers, period. But to steer back to topic...Arizona members and those with Extra Innings access, be sure to let us know how Daron reacts with the plucky Eckstein actually on his team.
  3. Even if Sunday's game remains as scored, having the 6th one-hitter in Brewers history is nothing to sneeze at.
  4. But yah... sucks that we got jobbed out of the experience by an official scorer. Announcing a reversal (were one to happen) during a home game could take some of that particular sting away. Throwing the sixth one-hitter in Brewers history isn't shameful or anything (if that's what it comes down to).
  5. The only exception is that a player on the 60-day disabled list may be replaced by another player from the team's 40-man roster (as of August 31) who plays the same position. Has Yovani been on the 60-day DL? I remember he started on the 15-day DL in May. (just wondering, in case the exception noted above is literally limited to the 60-day DL) If he really could be "playoff race effective" this year yet, we'd surely have to nickname him Wolverine.
  6. It would make a lot of sense for the fluid to be coming from sunburn blisters. I assume that, other than the sunburn pain, you feel more or less normal. For more knowledgeable reassurance, if you have health insurance that includes an on-call nurse service or something like that, it couldn't hurt to call and ask. Tell them you'd hate to take up their time and yours on an actual appointment. They'll tell you if it really warrants more attention. I've had sunburn along my part before, so I feel your pain. Maybe that green aloe gel they sell at Walgreens could double as a styling gel for you, for a few days. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  7. Yeah, that was last Sunday's slugfest (that still managed to be a low scoring game). He didn't seem sharp, but I think in part that's compared to his other ultra stellar outings. Was CC still recovering from his 130-pitch outing on the 18th? Do the Pirates have CC's number (relatively speaking)? I guess time will tell. The one thing that gives me a little pause is that today is the first time in CC's Brewers tenure that he's faced a team twice. Still, I'm not looking to be a downer. Go Brewers!
  8. Ooh Ooh, Jim Powell with the brewerfan.net mention just now. I was only half listening, but it sounds like our September callup thread is his source for who's getting called up.
  9. Jason with the sweet stroke! I would love to see the Brewers change Jason's walkup music to "Hey Bulldog."
  10. Houston scores 6 in the first without making an out. How dare they? Have they no respect for the game?
  11. East Gorham St., one over from Johnson, was closed most of the summer. I thought I'd heard on the radio that it reopened Thursday or so. I haven't been there to verify yet. FTJ, if you were asking at 9:57 for someone hoping to make today's 11:00 game...that close to a kickoff, there's no fast way. East Washington has been the suggested detour for Gorham St, but I wouldn't take it to the Capitol on a Saturday morning, due to the Farmers' Market. Instead, turn left (from E. Wash) onto Blair St, follow Blair to where it becomes John Nolen Drive, and take John Nolen (including the lanes under Monona Terrace) to a right turn onto Proudfit...which eventually becomes Regent St. I don't know if that's a fast route. The 'best' route depends a bit, I think, on where you intend to park for a game. With that information, I could maybe give better tips.
  12. Sucks to be Gorzo. Only one bad frame tonight, yet, he gets the L.
  13. Lance Berkman goes yard. Walkoff jack beats S-T-L. A Cardinal sin?
  14. Aw, man, just one more reason to be worried about the Phillies series...and I'm not putting that in blue. Matt Stairs doesn't particularly annoy me, but I would definitely place him in that category of "ex-Brewers more than capable of biting the Brewers in the butt."
  15. If the Brewers win out from this point, I'll chip in for the fruit basket for Bernie and Co.
  16. How many current Brewers fans got hooked in the early 80s by seeing that team in the postseason? (Raises hand.) Me too (though if the notes I made in my 1982 diary are any indication, I followed the Brewers that whole season, not just at the end). I acknowledge having started off as more or less a bandwagon fan. I certainly wasn't paying attention to stats and stuff then (not that I wasn't capable - I was 16 - but I really think I was just looking for something different from the football that everyone else in my life was following), but I kept paying attention even after the dreadful 1984 campaign. That's when I figured I was a long-term fan of the Brewers. I've gleaned my share of stathead information from this site, but I'll always post more about "fan issues" and game experiences than numbers; yet I don't think many posters here would consider me less of a fan as a result. Every hardcore fan has to start somewhere, and while many of us wish it weren't, say, by doing the wave at MP during a nailbiter game, better to have casual interest than none at all.
  17. I'll bet it is few Members who first posted here during Haiku Night.
  18. Speaking as one who has had trouble sleeping since literally my first week of life, if I thought separate bedrooms would help, I'd move out in a flash. Actually, our current bedroom is the dark quiet one, so I'd move the S.O. out, but you get the idea.
  19. I know you're not kidding, but two years? Wow. So, I guess it bugs me that I didn't realize we've been living with this thread for two years. And while I'm at it...UW-Madison could open its dorms up even a day or two sooner than they do anymore. I'm trying to staff my office so we can be ready for the start of classes (Tuesday morning), and the dormsters are only arriving now. I'll have time for like one interview tomorrow and that's not enough to fill my schedule. So I'll have to hire/orient/train people mostly next week, when it'll be busy. /shakes fist at University Housing/
  20. Charter Channel 73 in Madison (and that is with stodgy, 20th-century, non-digital expanded basic and a 1996 TV).
  21. If we lose tonight I won't be very happy. So, don't you lose, Crew! It's still Thursday, pitch. Brewers' next game is Friday. Happiness tonight! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. I'm totally wearing my Villanueva jersey T-shirt to Monday's game.
  23. What did Carlos say? "This one's for your mom, Albert!"? Overreaction. Fortunately we Can entertain ourselves with Haiku 'til Friday.
  24. The place RyDogg's thinking of at Gorham and Henry is Vientiane Palace. Mmm. His list also reminds me to give props to Kabul and Himal Chuli, both on State. I believe El Dorado Grill is also a Food Fight venue. I still have to try that, and Tex Tubb's. In fact, I think we have a Food Fight gift card at home.../drooling/
  25. Yeah, Albert's on the charts, with a bullet.
