  1. The Red Sox lost a series to the White Sox this year. Good teams lose games in baseball. It happens all the time. It sucks, but it does, and will happen.
  2. Stop running on a guy that throws out 55% of attempted base stealers. Just stooooop.
  3. I wonder if fans of other teams say the exact same thing? They definitely do.
  4. Same! I hate the "We deserve to lose!" posts. Ziegler threw the right pitches. Mattingly pulled the right strings. Yeesh. SOmetimes the other guys do the things they are trying to do. So go out in the 11th and get a run, and win the game.
  5. Papi roided. Who cares. That's not the topic.
  6. Perez is a nice bench guy but four million per year for a small market club for a guy who will never OBP 300 is outrageous. He's a decent Defender, he's versatile and he has a little bit of Pop. Those are not the types of players you give multi-year deals to. Perez is easily replaceable year-to-year.
  7. Braun had been a combined 8.2 WAR in 15/16 and Puig had been a combined 2.4 WAR in those same 2 years. Hindsight is amazing.
  8. With the OBP skills, I expect he will stay up, and Sogard will be DFAed when Saladino is ready. I'd be surprised if Orf OPS'd anything over .650, but will be pleasantly suprised if he proves me wrong. Of course I have absolutely no problem with him replacing Sogard, starting immediately. He literally can't do worse, so I'm absolutely ok with them giving him a shot. If he hits. .225 and plays passable defense, he's an upgrade over Sogard, right now.
  9. I still have no illusions that Orf is going to do much while he's up here, but that was awesome! Happy for the guy.
  10. Why is he a moron for chasing a ring? We talk all the time about how players are in it just for the money, so what's wrong with a player wanting to win a ring? The only thing that matters to fans is loyalty. They dont care if players get rings or money.
  11. That is still bothering me 7 innings later. All he had to do was ask... You and me both. I dont dwell on bad ball/strike calls, but thats a pitch that a guy swung at and missed by 6 inches and an ump called a foul ball, and now it has had a direct impact on the outcome of the game. Even if the brewers win, theyre burning bullpen innings that they wouldnt have had to otherwise.
  12. I don't think ilyasova is a bad player per se. But I think this contract is indicative once again that this ownership and leadership group just as content to sit and backfill around Giannis with a bunch of mediocre to average guys. I will add that Tony Snell is a really really really bad player. They seem to be of the mindset that one super star plus a bunch of average guys equals a good team and that just isn't the case in today's NBA.
  13. only slightly. the celts will be improved next season with Hayward for a full season. the sixers will continue to improve and the raptors haven't lost anything from last season. right now i think the ceiling for the bucks is 4th. The Raptors lost a good coach.
  14. To be fair, if the roster was being managed properly, we wouldn't have had a 1st baseman playing lf to misplay that ball. This all goes back to roster management.
  15. Like others, starting to get puzzled and a little bit frustrated with the 25-man roster management. The Brewers are always playing two or three or even four men down lately. Stearns's habit of rotating that 7/8 spot in the bullpen bit us today. Theres no way there werent better organizational options than a 35 year old journeyman with a career 7+ era. When your option in a 1 run game is a 35 year old making his season debut after 5 years away, youre doing something wrong with roster management.
  16. Stearns micromanages a bit too much. Moving guys up and down. Bringing up a guy like zagurski when youre in a playoff race should NEVER happen unless you have no other options, and there are other options. Get your best 25 guys up, quit playing 2 and 3 guus short everyday, and quit futzing around with the last 2 bullpen spots just to do it.
  17. I just finished season 1 of Lost in Space on Netflix, and I liked (didn't love) it. They made a few changes to the formula, enough to make it fresh. Definitely worth checking out. I binged season 4 of Peaky Blinders this week, and that's made its way into my top 5 favorite shows of all time. The ending of Season 4 pretty much left me speechless. Cillian Murphy's portrayal of Tommy Shelby is brutal and amazing. Adding Aidan Gillen and Adrian Brody to the cast for season 4 was fantastic.
  18. Just a reminder that if you sign up with multiple accounts you're going to get a perma ban. Thanks.
