  1. I can't believe that after 12 years in the big leagues people want to keep handing hundred of PAs to Craig Counsell.
  2. But there is no more reason to expect Counsell to hit .300 for month than there is Weeks. You would think that Hardy's hot streak would have shown people this. Hardy was as hot as a baseball player could be and what did he do in the Cincy series?
  3. Going with the "hot hand" is like playing a slots machine that has been paying out recently.
  4. Well yes it is, its .477. But so what? His career it's .349 when combined with his terrible power isn't worth it. Why do we want to give the most ABs possible to the Brewers worst hitter?
  5. I think people need to realize how many injuries Parra has had. Sheets in his most injured filled year pitched more innings than Parra has ever done in a season. Now at age 25 you can hope the worst is behind him, but keeping Parra healthy is almost as important as keeping Sheets healthy and the one way we know how to do that is to keep him from having a huge jump in his workload.
  6. The FCC Chief is none too happy with Comcast. Hopefully his ruling doesn't get watered down and full access becomes a legal norm: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080711/ap_on_hi_te/internet_regulation
  7. How is making all your money through lease bonuses a good business model? Its not that they expanded too quickly, its that they couldn't expand anymore and their ponzi scheme fell apart.
  8. The Brewers probably killed any chance of a career Cruz could have had by hanging onto him for the full year like they did while not giving him any real playing time.
  9. Nelson hits left handed. Which makes Gamel really redundant. No real reason to add him to the 40 man so he can get maybe 5 ABs. The only one that's currently on the 40 man and who is healthy I don't see them bringing up is Cap'n Lou with Escobar a toss up.
  10. I guess the biggest evidence is that they decided to skip Parra's start instead of moving everyone back like they've done given off days in the past.
  11. You used the MS provided box right? Contact them and tell them you sent it in. They should have it insured if it doesn't show up soon.
  12. McClung should be the one because he tires at around 80 pitches and with his control issues that could be the third inning. And he just isn't that good.
  13. Something happen? Gameday froze on strike one to Dillon
  14. It was at 120 after Nix doubled. Yost must really want to give Cameron a full day off or something
  15. Harden makes AJ Burnett look robust
  16. When Corey Hart makes the All Star team and his arby award becomes bigger than Prince's do we have to trade him right away too?
  17. Yep, people are ignoring the fact that if Beane wanted major league ready pitching with upside the Brewers just have none. And the difference in innings is not small. Sabathia will pitch more innings before the All Star break than Harden has pitched since 2004 in a single season.
  18. Jay Mohr somehow was able to turn a Christopher Walken impersonation into a career...
  19. Xavier Nady .323/.383/.538 Ryan Braun .283/.322/.541 Ryan Braun-All Star and 4th OFer on the Pirates! Gorzelanny and Snell were both projected to be solid #2 pitchers and both have ERAs around 6, otherwise the Pirates would be a real force. The Pirates are closer than people realize.
  20. Pierre and Jones are not just bad contracts they are horrible contracts and deadweight. Suppan can at least pitch and has some value. Jones and Pierre have none.
  21. Ryan Braun couldn't crack the Pittsburgh outfield. The fact that Pittsburgh pitching for some reason decided to go away is a mystery and the only reason they aren't competing.
  22. Yes the Brewers really need another reliever with control issues. Taschner isn't that good and isn't better than present options.
  23. I think the Brewers can trade Suppan and his entire salary because the free agent market this year isn't really deep. After Sheets and Sabathia you next have Oliver Perez, Burnett, and John Garland and then you have the oft injured Randy Wolf and the 36 year old Derek Lowe. Given Suppan is only signed for two years they might rather have him then say signing Brandon Looper to a 4 year/$40m deal.
  24. Sure we could get Andruw Jones.... I was hoping Suppan would just keep giving up unearned runs so people didn't notice he was giving up over 5 runs a game. Hopefully he comes back rattles off some nice starts and get his ERA at around 4.5. At that I think a team would be willing to take him on.
