  1. He only went 5 1/3. That's early leaving 3 2/3 to be covered.
  2. I'd rather see Corey 5th from the get go, but he has been a slow starter at least in his AAA and MLB seasons, not heating up until mid-May or so, and he has had a so-so spring. Of course this will be his 1st year at MLB starting the season as a full time player. It won't matter much in runs scored and when he does get it going they'll probably be flipped.
  3. I gave up on TN-LV with about 15:00 left in the 2nd half. Too much chaos and too many turnovers with what appears to be no plan. It's the way both teams play and they're good at it but with 2 teams like that facing each other I found it very frustrating and not enjoyable.
  4. As I recall the story, he threw a pitch and felt strong pain. He tried another pitch, threw it into the ground and came out of the game. It was examined and determined it needed surgical repair. It could have been deteriorating, fraying or whatever prior to that but I don't remember reports that he was having pain prior to that.
  5. This is from Kiplinger.com: I had a baby in August 2007. Will I still get the full $300 bonus rebate? Yes. As long as the baby was born by December 31, 2007, then she counts as a qualifying child for the extra $300 (if you otherwise qualify for the rebate). Parents of babies born in 2008 will have to wait until next year to claim the $300 credit.
  6. Whether you got a refund or not has nothing to do with it. I suspect you'll get $1200. The calculator link Samwise posted above is quite easy to use.
  7. & Eveland at AAA Do we know that Dana has options left? He was called up 7/05, not sure if he was on the 40 man prior to that or if he was sent down after, then spent time in the minors in 06 & 07.
  8. 0 to 1 with 3 kids that may be eligible for the child tax credit? Here's a withholding calculator that is more detailed but may be more straight forward to follow. You can adjust more than once a year.
  9. Have you looked at the W-4? It's pretty self explanatory if you go through it line by line. For each allowance, X number of dollars less will be withheld from your paycheck. Allowances have nothing to do with how much tax you pay, only how much is withheld to cover your taxes. But they should match closely with how much tax you will owe. According to the W-4 you can take one allowance for each dependent but depending on your income, you can take 1 or 2 additional allowances for each child due to the child tax credit if your kids are eligible for it. You can also take 1 for yourself and an additional 1 or 2 if your wife doesn't work. On the other hand, if you have interest or dividend income or other income where taxes aren't being withheld, you need to reduce your allowances to allow for the tax due on this income. I wouldn't make a big change all at once, maybe 2 to start. It depends on how many allowances you are claiming now and how big your refund was. Estimate how much tax you will owe next April and make your allowance change. Then estimate how much will have been withheld by the end of the year at the new allowance level. That would include your wife's withholding if she does work. If it's still more than you will owe, increase your allowances a little more. In the end it comes down to having enough withheld to cover your taxes but not too much. The magic W-4 formulas don't always work so you have to do some estimating on your own for your situation.
  10. You've set the direction. She'll be expecting a Beamer on her 16th birthday.
  11. I'm one of those drivers that forgets to turn off the brights when we meet. I really don't mind it much when others do it to me One of those times you forget could be the last. Most people get more sensitive to light as they age and there are visual problems that can make it even worse yet don't disqualify one from getting a license. Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it won't blind the oncoming driver and they cross the center line. It's not just a courtesy. I dim mine any time I can see a car coming or when I'm following.
  12. Now if Memorial wins, the two high schools I attended will both be champs. Never a chance http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. I could care less what words and phrases bug you guys.
  14. their lone boys' basketball claim to fame was the undefeated season of 1964-65 Yeah, I remember that team. I was a sophomore at Tosa East and when we beat Milwaukee North and Rufus King to get to state we were favored to win it all, then got blown out in the first round by Cumberland of all teams. Won the consolation championship. I still remember Keith Burrington from that Monroe team. Didn't we have a glorious logo: http://images.yuku.com/image/gif/b6025ed9b58780ed9a6525b90701142ec119d06_t.gif
  15. I only plan to use it once or twice a month. Basically for "HELP!" or "I'm running ten minutes late" or "Where are you?". Also, I don't plan on moving soon. If I have to, I'll be having much larger issues than cell phone plans. I've had the AT&T .25 cent per minute prepaid for 3 years. If I use it 15 minutes a month that's a lot. For $100 a year I have a very basic phone that meets my needs. It works fine in the extended metro area. It should work fine in other cities across the US and along major highways. It's all I need. I buy $25 worth every 90 days, you just need to have a surefire way to remember when to buy more so they rollover and don't expire.
  16. Nelson Dewey, first governor of Wisconsin.
  17. Please, God, NO! As a product of the 50s and 60s there are two things I always hoped for but never dreamed they would happen in my lifetime: 1) the fall of the Berlin wall; 2) the Brewers moving to the NL. Any rumors of unusual construction activity in eastern Germany? My interest in the Brewers really waned in the mid-90s and was totally revived by the move. Hated the DH from the start when it was just a gimmick to give the sagging AL a boost. There's something special to me about playing the old 8 NL teams: Cards, Dodgers, Cubs, Braves, Giants, Reds, Phillies and yes, even the Pirates, that I never felt for the Yankees, Red Sox or any of the AL teams.
  18. The only test is interleague play. The last 2 years haven't been good for the NL. Up until then it was even.
  19. Hey, all I am saying, is that the data is there real-time. Pump it into a spread-sheet and show us how wrong we were. Anyone who posts something different from what Ned does is never wrong because it's never tested and it's assumed to be right. The data isn't there. And there are plenty of times Ned's choice works out but of course a poster's choice would always have worked out too.
  20. Jeffress is under a team controlled suspension for non PEDs. That's not a part of minor league baseballs drug policy and the rules aren't the same necessarily.
  21. Is he allowed to be in a team camp or play in those leagues while suspended? I don't think the 50 games are up yet.
  22. How soon we forget Nomura.
  23. I hope not. He had a sore arm last spring. Probably can't overdo fielding balls but throwing you can.
  24. Not in a row. The vocab level in the lower right. It goes up as you get them right and down when you're wrong. I take it as the peak people have gotten to. 44 here so far.
