  1. Is it wrong to be dreaming of Corey Hart in center field for the next ten years? It would solve a lot of problems if he could play it well or if his offense made up for some shortcomings. Gorman played CF for some very good to excellent teams.
  2. Hart can play center? We're gonna find out. He's got the speed. We'll see how his instincts and routes are these days.
  3. but does being part of a championship team benefit the kids more? Since it can't be proved it does, it doesn't...I guess
  4. I don't think blackouts encourage anyone to go to games. No they encourage people to watch the local broadcast and protect FSN's investment.
  5. completely off topic - can you bring your own peanuts to a game? do they allow that? As has been said, yes you can and you don't have to hide it. You can also bring unopened plastic bottles of soda or water, no cans, in a softsided shoulder strap kind of cooler. The dimensions are on the Brewers site in the MP A-Z guide as well as a bunch of other good info.
  6. The ball hit the inside of his glove! Brady should have had it but look at it again. It caught too much of the thumb of the glove. That ball seemed to be slicing more than normal for where it was hit(only slightly left of straight away). I think too many people watch web gems and think other teams players are doing those things all the time. Not a routine play but catchable more times than not. There's a link to it here: sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/gameday_recap.jsp?ymd=20050729&content_id=1149993&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=sf
  7. does not bring Dana in to Face Ray Once again, Durham is a switch hitter with a .903 OPS against lefties vs. .795 against righties. He hits better righthanded.
  8. Was it just me, or did anyone else notice that the Brewers allowed Country Stadium to go to hell in a handbasket in order to make a better case for a new stadium? You could say that if you want to assign ulterior motives. But you could also say it's just not smart to put much money into something that's going to be demolished in a few years.
  9. It was also a way to limit Eveland's pitching load. He has already logged 109 innings this season and is coming up on the career-high 133 1/3 innings he threw last year between Huntsville and Class A Beloit. www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050715&content_id=15923&vkey=news_milb&fext=.jsp Can't tell if it's just McCalvy's thought or someone from the Brewers mentioned it to him.
  10. tsf.waymoresports.thestar.com/thestar/baseball/player.cgi?4699 Ontario, CA My first guess would be that Tommy's dad could have been in the military.
  11. I think Edmonds and Walker mostly haven't been starting against lefties all year.
  12. Man, it is like talking to a statue. Man, it's like listening to a broken record. Bill and Darron mentioned that Ned had said he didn't want to use Turnbow last night if he didn't have to because the bow had appeared in 5 of the last 6 games. He wasn't totally unavailable but it would seem Wise was being held back to close it until Ricky ran into trouble. You know, this wasn't the 7th game of the World Series so Ned has to plan for today and going forward also. The offense and defense blew this game. It's tough to ask a pitcher to get 6 outs in an inning.
  13. I know, but saying screwgie just sounds stupid Screwgie has been in use as far back as I can remember, back to Spahnie's: www.enlexica.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?v=screwgie&d=spbb&s=Q
  14. That's stupid. Ben's a big boy and can win or lose it on his own. He doesn't need protecting from himself. You at least let him face one more. It was a cheap hit.
  15. OPS against lefties: Lyle - .587, Helms - .917. Santana could be considered one of your tougher lefties.
  16. Carlos put one on the warning track in right to lead off that inning.
  17. All of these instantaneous judgements are starting to get on my nerves. Mine too, but they say a ton about the posters. Consider the source and just ignore them.
  18. If they'd put a weight around his neck once he's on base.
  19. Move it in 30 feet on the right field side at least (for Branyan and Fielder). You do have to do it for both teams, ya know.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif So it's for Burnitz, Ward, Edmonds, Berkman, Chipper, Bonds and Thome too.
  20. ``It happens to me all the time,'' Zambrano said, referring to the cramp. ``I have to drink more water. It has nothing to do with my elbow or shoulder.''
  21. That board sure was fast though. EZBoard's really dogging it for me right now.
