  1. Do you use any other computers regularly to access the board? Have you seen the issue on them?
  2. The dropdown issue has been known to happen, but nowhere near as often as you describe (unless you're on a mobile device, then it's constant). Do things improve if you clear your cache? Botched up reply and page numbering is a known Yuku bug. We're all likely to see it at one time or another. That's why you might see something like "reply #46ish" in thread titles. I asked about this a few weeks ago, but staff didn't have any news to provide.
  3. On DirecTV I think ExtraInnings is free for the first week of the season, and for the first week (or 4-5 days) after the All Star break. Yep. It's also free during those weeks on the other systems that offer it. I'm trying to piece together a national broadcast schedule to determine whether or not it is worth getting MLB Extra Innings. For comparison's sake, here are the non-WGN national games.
  4. I'm wondering if there are any stat sites out on the 'net that will let users pick a date and see player stats as they were as of that date. I'm looking for the basics rather than any fancy stats. Ideally, the format I'm looking for would display by team, e.g. Milwaukee Brewers as of July 12th. As an example of what I'm looking for, ESPN's standings let users see standings as of particular dates throughout the season. I'd like to find something that does the same for players. I know I'm being clear as mud, so please bear with me.
  5. Firefox issues are almost always profile-related and almost never related to the program installation. That's why I suggested testing PayPal in Firefox safe mode; it bypasses your profile. If it comes down to a profile replacement, that's easy, especially with only three extensions. You'd need to create a new profile, import your old bookmarks, reinstall the three extensions, and tweak your preferences. Managing profiles Transferring data to a new profile
  6. However, I would recommend adding the Sports Pack, too. Sure, it's another $12/month (something like that) but then you DO get the pre- and post-game shows on the FSN channel (669 for the Brewers--at least it was last year). I'm glad you confirmed that. I was just about to speculate in response to TLB's post. I remember getting pre-and post-game shows when I had the sports package years ago, but I couldn't speak to the issue definitively given the lapse in time. I suppose it's set up this way because pre- and post-game shows aren't blacked out like the games are. Still, it'd be a nice bonus to duplicate the pre-and post-game programming as part of Extra Innings. One thing that's nice if you have both packages... instead of watching a game on the Extra Innings channel (in the 700s), you can watch the game on the Sports Package channel (in the 600s). That way, as pitchleague says, you're not interrupted when the Extra Innings channel shuts off. On the other hand, during games, if you like to flip between different games, choosing to watch in the 700s is handy. The games are basically on consecutive channels, so you can easily use your up and down button.
  7. For those on Directv out of Wisconsin, the WMLW games are usually on, but not on 669. They're usually found in the 680s or so. That's the same for us here in Wisconsin. I'd estimate that about half of the WMLW games are on odd channels, though. I believe the FSN contract ends after the 2012 season.
  8. Are you using NoScript or anything that blocks cookies? I'm not sure that NoScript would have any effect, but cookie settings surely could. Try starting Firefox in Safe Mode (no connection to Windows Safe Mode). This lets you run Firefox with its "factory" settings. It's a good starting point for pinning down a problem.
  9. Peña would be off the 40-man roster, so he wouldn't use an option until he's called up and sent back down.
  10. I'm actually ok with starting (Gamel's) service time if he starts rackin in ST. If we need him, then use him.... What about this McGehee kid... Spring training sample sizes are too small to judge anything with the bat. However, defensive strides (if there are any) could be observable. Re McGehee... Casey's a bit old to be a "kid," which would be part of the reason for the low ceiling.
  11. You can get bluetooth dongles that stick no more than a quarter of an inch out of your USB port. Check at Best Buy.
  12. When you post a thread with news, please include some kind of synopsis so people don't have to click through if all they want are the basic facts.
  13. Is it possible for the team that controls him to trade him? Sure. The arby offers will simply be traded to the new team along with the player.
  14. Yes. Rickie signed a Major League contract right out of college; but in his case, it was used as a perk.
  15. 2009 one-year arby signings can be posted here. Along with a link, please post terms (if available) so people don't necessarily have to click through.
  16. Before this gets all closed up, are you going to be installing the proper cabling to have a TV by your new urinal?
  17. The frequency of the times I hear "I mean" bugs me. The words are supposed to signify that one is correcting a mistake. I'd hate to think that people are correcting as many mistakes as the number of "I means" that we hear would indicate.
  18. Beerambassador, how about putting a rooftop-style antenna in your attic? If you'd like to add amplification to it, adding an electrical outlet near the antenna would be a snap.
  19. Its to give early free agency to players that pretty much spent the whole year in the major league level but not quite the whole year. Free agency requirements stay the same: 6 years (1,032 days) of Major League service. As others have said, super-two adds a year of arby eligibility for a few players with less than three years. From Brewerfan's Free Agency and Arbitration FAQ:

  21. I talked to a sales person at Best Buy about digital-capable antennas today. Capability varies from antenna to antenna: some are amplified, some are simply little boxes, some have rabbit ears, etc. When purchasing one, we agreed that starting with the cheapest and exchanging until you're satisfied a good way to go. At home, this shouldn't be an issue for me; I have an excellent outdoor antenna. I'm checking this out for my dad. For him, I'd like to find the least obtrusive option possible. I'm hoping that one of the tiny boxes, about the size of a small router, will work for him.
  22. Let me use this analogy. Do you worry about a car salesman getting an adequate commission or the dealer making money off of your purchase? (My brother does; therefore, my sister-in-law buys their cars.) It isn't lousy etiquette to ask for the pot to be sweetened. Try to stay realistic, though. I don't think your ideas are outrageous.
  23. BrewCityBadger, you should see it now. Holler if you don't.
  24. It's odd hearing what sounds like a gunshot at 1:10 AM in February. I guess someone's looking for some after-bar entertainment.
  25. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a244/casey1992/boardpics/bfnet/lastpost_iphone.png It's interesting that the member "last post" information is showing up on the main board page. Brewerfan members asked that we hide it at the board level to cut down on vertical scrolling. Putting it back, of course, causes more scrolling. That would be worth avoiding on an iPhone. (As an aside, Firefox, Flock, and Opera users can put back "last post" information at the browser level if they choose.). I see the "LambeauLeap.net Forum Jump" and the "Brewerfan.net Forum Jump" at the top of the page hang open. If I remember correctly, the links worked, though. What happens with the other menus (e.g. the Forum Jump by the page numbers and "Share This")? Are they open or closed? Do they work at all? The post editor that Toby points out is the plain text editor; it's the same as the Quick Reply editor. It's what you're gonna get if you use Safari, Safari variants like Google Chrome, or older browsers. Unless you're typing something very simple, it's a pain on a full-fledged computer. I can imagine what it's like to use on a mobile device. I wonder what happens with the bbcode editor on mobile devices. You can try that preference by hitting the Account link in the navigation bar, hitting the Preferences link in the Settings box, choosing bbcode as your editor type, and hitting the Submit button.
