  1. Just need a walk here to load the bases so Garret can join the grand slam club. Well that's what I get for typing slow
  2. Can't have too much range in Colorado in the OF
  3. Another West Coast road trip is not exciting, so I'll also go with the 13-11
  4. It's interpretive on my side, the maintenance is supposed to be lower largely based on a lot fewer parts in an EV. But there have been a lot of real use stories pointing to higher repair costs for the EVs. Without hardcore sourcing those stories it is possible that they are shoddy slant pieces, but I think there is truth in them and it is reflected by the fact that Tesla's dominated the early EV market and the entire design of those made repairs inherently more difficult and challenging compared to other EV brands. Hence my comparing it to a smartphone. It looks great at first has all kinds of bells and whistles, but it doesn't last/ isn't readily repairable. Not claiming to be definitive just my attempt to reconcile the different info out there.
  5. Well I think Tesla's bigger problem than the Cybertruck is designs that increase repair costs. Cheapish on the front end, but having to replace a car like a smartphone I don't see as a winning strategy. I haven't had any strong comparisons for my Bolt yet other than a $20 tire rotation less often than a $50+ oil change is a good trade off so far.
  6. I wonder with the minors off day on Monday if they are able to hold-off effectively until Tuesday on Mitchell?
  7. Odds are good the seller list will grow slightly, but if the NL stays as flat as it is right now I'm inclined to agree that not that many teams will be strong buyers either. If your a GM on the hot seat sure, or a few other cases but trading a bunch to try and grab that coveted 3rd wildcard? I don't think so and there doesn't look like a lot of other drama at the moment for the division races. Someone mentioned it in passing, but I wouldn't mind the Brewers being a little aggressive to try and snag the #2 seed and skip the wildcard round.
  8. Glad to see Mitchell back in the lineup already.
  9. As the Cards have at least for the time reemerged this is an important reminder to show no mercy today and during the Cubs series bury them as deep as you can in the standings.
  10. Off the main point of the article, but any insights into why Outs Above Average rates Turang so low?
  11. Contrearas needed the bigger spikes and he would've been safe
  12. Well atleast the CI balances out the walk Frelick was robbed of.
  13. Imagine how many walks the Brewers would have tonight with the correct zone.
  14. The wide strikes I saw in the first inning didn't look horrible, but that pitch first pitch to Black was super low and given Black's understanding of the zone it looked like that threw him off the entire AB and left him swinging at garbage.
  15. I want all the OFers to hit their ceilings, but the high OBP best defense of Perkins at this point is hard to straight trade out for the continued promise that Garret can keep being successful with all that swing and miss. If he keeps showing good things in his rehab at AAA he has absolutely earned the right to try with regular ABs and between the DH and general off days having 4 regular OFs is pretty doable even if Chourio or Mitchell really start to rake.
  16. Also nice to see Frelick not bailing out the pitcher.
  17. Nice to see that speed working on getting to home finally
  18. With as many changes to roster rules and the draft in recent years I have a hard time trying to figure out what collective strategy looks like. Having so many of your draft picks from last year performing well is a great problem but figuring out when to move players with relatively little experience and who and were others are released...
  19. I think there is something of a horse race between Mitchell, Chourio, Frelick, and Black. All of them could potentially stick if Black does enough to make Bauers go away, but outside of that the worst performing one likely gets sent down, though Chourio batting right handed makes that less likely if it is close. My guess is that Black probably goes back down. Perkins has just done too much to be in that category anytime soon. If Mitchell had Perkins OBP skills........
  20. What we really need is some good Statcast data collected from old footage. What was Prince's Home to Home speed on his Inside the Parker in the Metrodome or even farther back according to my 90 Donruss baseball cards White Sox catcher Ron Karkovice hit an inside the parker in 89.
  21. Being an OFer the floor on expected offense is higher, but he's basically had about as many MLB ABs now as Brice had all of last year and he has consistently produced a much better line than Turang did last year. I do think he needs to do some of that same soul searching Turang did to figure out how to get his swing back to what he was doing in the minors and maybe work on improving the base stealing rate.
  22. I went to bed in the 8th, imagine my surprise watching the condensed game this morning.
