  1. Still seems a bit conservative looking in particular at the Run differential, I'd say 95 wins still gives us some regression, but not a huge amount. It's also a one that would make it very tough for another central team to catch us.
  2. Pratt in particular now gets paid the same regardless.
  3. So in terms of sheer dominance, which I tend to associate with confidence in winning the game, the only two somewhat similar stretches at this point are the post trade Sabathia performance and Eldred's campaign in 1992. Both had sub 2 ERAs. The other really great seasons by Milwaukee pitchers were all comfortably above 2.
  4. Miz going 7 again a nice help for the pen. And of course Hamilton showing some level of power again is very nice. His career high is 8HR, so he always had more power than he was showing the first 2 months. I'd love to see a break down on his approach the last few weeks. He seems to be balancing taking some better swings to do some damage while still being willing to slap it around and use his speed.
  5. And while the walks were certainly up in last year's time, the real ugliness in the stat line comes down to 1 blown-up appearance. Outside of that it was 2 runs in 7 innings for Yoho.
  6. Perfect day for a low pitch count no hitter from the Miz
  7. Fair confession I went to bed once the Rockies tied it up, I remember looking at the clock going into the 9th inning and at least being thankful that the game was only going to be slightly over 2 hours long.
  8. With likely having to raid AAA again after the Fitzpatrick injury it sure feels like there are opportunities for guys who are performing to move up all the way along.
  9. Not disputing the general trend of Sproat could use some AAA time, but 5 innings and 3 runs in Coors is at least acceptable for a 5th starter.
  10. Former Brewers really helped us out today, Adames with 2 HR and Milner gave up 6 runs in 1/3 of an inning. I appreciate their loyalty
  11. I regret only that for Yoho that means likely pitching in Colorado, it's hard for that to mean anything.
  12. Losing it is one thing, but after it drops just standing there pouting about it is a terrible look.
  13. Yes pitching had 3 excellent games, offense was great for 2, I only give today an OK because scoring 6 garbage time runs to make it look like a good day isn't the same.
  14. I suspect Gasser may have stole Crow's pitching magic.
  15. Haven't heard those guys mentioned in a long time... But dark times indeed A good excuse though to see how much the league has changed, Loretta's career OPS of .754 rated only an OPS+ of 98, but the same statline this year would be very comparable to JJ Wetherholt and come in at OPS+ of 119. Or Jose Hernandez's career line is right there with Cody Clemens now
  16. Is Oswing% calibrated to the ABS system? Just curious if the strike zone is being consistently measured.
  17. I expect the Pirates stay in 2nd place to be short lived. They have Atlanta and LA back to back starting this weekend
  18. I had forgotten the name of that one, Nilsson could have been one heck of a catcher..
  19. They just played a series at Coors field, so that may be a factor
  20. It's interesting that I thinking the timing of a potential move influences who makes more sense. A few weeks ago that slow start for Pratt had a bit more weight, and looking at William's positional flexibility also was a point in his favor. Now since Pratt has continued to sustain fairly well he has the edge in season numbers, and since he is already under contract Super 2 is not relevant. Ortiz has been moved to the bench sort of, and Rengifo has undermined his position on both sides of the ball. I would agree that at home against a mediocre appoint is a nice way to bring up a rookie. I think it also helps that no one is expecting ROY type performance, just be better than what we have had.
  21. So I'm guessing that Woodford is done once Koenig's rehab has gone far enough. And that would give them a pen full of guys with some reliability which as I've argued in a few other places with the number of options that can also go longer stints really gives you options for keeping folks fresh and managing workload while not having games like yesterday where you concede unless your offense has a day. Holding out for Lockridge works with the division lead, and much like the bullpen gives you some depth if you have an injury later in the season and then maybe Lara gets a chance. Hamilton may have the options, but he is doing the little things that would make him a solid fit as a true utility guy, so I'm guessing we are going to see Pratt or Williams here soon . Putting it together those moves could start to add up to really solidifying the team
