  1. Bullpen warming up in the first an error, great stuff already
  2. I would think looking at a few other projection systems would give some insight about whether the same teams were being consistently under or over estimated.
  3. A thought while thinking about Cleveland's surge. Are both teams getting the Uecker benefit? Worst to First after 2 of your better players get sidelined due to an investigation certainly could be the plot to Major League 4.
  4. Not a direct answer, but at this point for the Brewers I tend to not put as much weight on closeness to MLB as I used too. It is still a factor, but now that our player development is so much better those tools and ceiling are going to rate a little better for me.
  5. Probably, but the example isn't really important. All measurements have accuracy limits and trying to push technology into areas well beyond our own eyesight's accuracy leaves things open to very goof weird exploits that are not part of the game.
  6. I would prefer the team get at least 1 more win to set a new mark for best record. Would have loved to be able to get to 100 regular season wins too, but best record ever and #1 seed is a nice achievement to have in place headed into the playoffs.
  7. It was a hypothetical example of how imagining we have unlimited precision isn't really a thing. In this case maybe one team figures out an epoxy for pitchers to wear on their nails and they just pick at a seam a bit to raise it. The balls go out of play often enough that it would be a 1 sided benefit.
  8. I believe based on the example from tennis above that the concern over fake accuracy of the ABS system is real. It is generally more accurate than umpires of course, but just like every measurement tool it has a limit to it's accuracy. Do we really want seam-gate when a team finds a way to get the seams to stick out just a little more and see if the ABS system can pick up that extra mm?
  9. I do assume we will start to see some close challenges in later innings eventually. Certainly once you get into the 7th inning or so if you are talking about a close pitch on a full count with the bases loaded it's hard not to say you burn a challenge for example. My guess is that teams will tend to be conservative at first because they want to be able to challenge that if it comes up, but they will eventually want to be challenging some calls earlier in important situations.
  10. That works out to 21.6 Ks for 100 pitches. Or 111 pitches gets him a complete game 26K no hitter.
  11. That might even be a near perfect amount of lead. Far enough we can keep rotating guys to stay fresher, but not so much that we coast. Especially with the first round bye for a nice complete break.
  12. I don't think the pitchers need to be aware of it to be effective. While the clock is present for the actual signal the rule does force the pitcher to look at the batter, so if the Brewers really are messing with pitchers timing by being ready sooner than other teams the pitchers would probably be responding by starting their own internal timing clock for how long they have. Put another way as part of adapting to having a pitch clock in general it is hard to imagine that pitchers didn't develop an internal sense to avoid pitch clock violations.
  13. I'm OK going up 35-0 at halftime and letting Willis play in the second half.
  14. With the quality of the run game in general and the defense combined with the 17 game season. You need to hold onto the competent back-up QB unless it's a crazy draft pick offer.
  15. Vaughn is just saving them for the postseason to complete the legend.
  16. Yes the Brewers lead is very solid, but it's a little hard not to look at were we are right now, and just play what if we snagged 1 of the close games with the Cubs and 1 more from the Phillies. The #1 seed would be all but guaranteed with 19 to play
  17. Payamps is trying to help those who are frustrated at the idea of losing 1-0
  18. It's kind of crazy that new draft picks are struggling to get into the top 20.
  19. We can still get to 90 Wins before September!
  20. If the Pirates would trade Skenes to a contender so we can rough him up again good that would help.
