  1. I'm still trying to decide which was more fun to watch Hamilton's Little League HR, or the Prince Fielder inside the park HR at the Metrodome. I think Fielder wins by a nose but mostly because I was at that game in person.
  2. I end up listening on the radio a lot, so North Shore Adult Diapers are the official sponsor of all pitching changes, so every night has the chance for good chuckles on the radio. Somewhere Ueck is having a heck of a laugh at it all.
  3. Winning makes it a little bit easier to wait, but Super 2 status or not I want to stop feeling like we are throwing away quite so many ABs
  4. Load management is almost certainly going to be a thing as well as the season goes on, so would I rather have him throw that 1 more inning now or in October and then decision makes a lot of sense. In the moment I certainly wanted him to go out for 1 more, but I have no issue with the decision not to force it. Hopefully we have another good RISP game today and can use the back end guys to mop up the sweep.
  5. It is entirely possible the team is not quite fully embracing piggyback starters but has found enough arms that can go more than an inning at a time that Patrick along with Drohan are in these new roles where sometimes they are traditional come in for an inning guys, but also there when you need a longer stint and you can still remain in the game. It's hard to argue with the results at the moment. And while Sproat may eventually end up in a similar role he is young enough it is worth trying to see if you can build him up because he has the stuff to absolutely match Miz and Harrison as weapons in the rotation.
  6. So I was intrigued on the scoring for Made's walk off. Even with it being a ground rule double they still only credited him with a single. I had seen plenty of other doubles get down graded in walk-off situations but I don't recall a ground rule one happening before.
  7. Imagine how low that pitch count would be without that error in the first
  8. Give Mitchell credit for staying in the AB long enough for the wild pitch
  9. Yes things look way ahead on this trade, but for me a big part of trusting the process is understanding from time to time we will 'lose' a trade like this. The mid career guys we trade away may well go on to have some more good years, and the young guys may not develop or suffer unfortunate injuries. On some level it's not different than acknowledging if money was no object everyone would have been excited to sign Bo Bichette, but it's hard to look at this poor of a start as a problem with the decision to give him a contract.
  10. It's good to see some evidence that he is trying to make adjustments, but especially with the defense seemingly having taken a step back I agree that he only has a limited window before the team needs to look at other internal options.
  11. Imagine how much fun it will be when Miz goes 7 no hit innings today.
  12. Ashby available for games 1 and 3, with Miz in game 2 excellent strategy.
  13. i wouldn't mind a Jett Williams call-up on the road to shake things up a bit. Gives some more options to reduce ABs from Ortiz, Hamilton, Rengifo, and Perkins. Can't say for sure if he will hit better, but at the moment it is hard to hit much worse...
  14. With Woodruff and Priester down, that makes Crow our '7th' starter. I'll take that for sure
  15. There's a pretty solid chance the division still has everyone over .500 on June 1st. Pirates and Reds only need 6 more wins the rest of the month. Pirates schedule looks very manageable, Reds is a little tougher, but only because they play Atlanta at the end of the month, so I can see them getting swept and that pushing them under. Cubs, Cards, and Brewers would need a big losing streak to fall below .500 by then. It's also possible that with everyone having built up a big interleague record already that unless one of the Central teams starts dominating everyone else in the head to head playing each other more doesn't push the division under .500 just towards it. You figure at some point 1 of the teams will likely hit a rough patch, but at some point the reality may well be that everyone in the Central has at least a respectable team this year.
  16. Still crazy that the worst teams in the Central are 3 games over .500 on May 16th.
  17. I can't reliably get CBS, ABC, or Fox to come in over the air where I live. Which is weird because they used to work fairly well. I also have very mediocre internet options.
  18. I hope so, finding just a league average bat between SS or 3rd really would go along way towards rounding out the team.
  19. As improbable as it seems some days, this line-up doesn't need Chourio to think he is Joe Carter. Just take what the pitcher gives you, and his talent will put up the numbers.
  20. Well I hope Harrison can get through 5 at this point and turn it over to the Woodford
  21. He is like the guy who gets HR happy after hitting a clutch one, only he got all those hits coming off the DL and is now just swinging at everything
  22. Oh I agree Gameday would say Canning has only thrown 1 pitch in the zone this inning
  23. The App hasn't caught up yet, how did Hamilton get to 3rd?
