  1. Scherzer had a 17K 0 BB No hitter https://www.statmuse.com/mlb/ask/most-strikeouts-in-a-no-hitter
  2. For comparison in terms of dominant games here is the box score for the Kerry Wood game. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199805060.shtml
  3. Given the quality of the opposition, I think it rates ahead of the Sheets game and the Burnes no hitter.
  4. Miz throwing so much heat all our computers shut down
  5. Clearly Schwarber's ex-Cub status is why he is responsible for depriving us of a no-hitter.
  6. 3 innings, 8Ks, only 34 pitches. That has to be on the short list of most dominant ways to start a game.
  7. It's nice to score a win in life every so often well done
  8. Are the later year buyouts guaranteed? Specifically if the Brewers declined the 33 option would they still have to pay them? It doesn't have a huge impact on the value of the deal. The 'front loading' I would think is part of the appeal for sure. Yes he had a good signing bonus, but he is going to have millions more in the bank then he would have if he waited for Arbitration and then the big FA deal. Looking at the breakdown and its almost certainly more raw income until at least 2031 this way.
  9. Pretty sure no besides his mother thought Sproat could pitch 6 innings and only give up 1 run tonight.
  10. I was looking for IHOP vs. Country Kitchen myself.
  11. There is so little info it sure seems like complete guesswork.
  12. I mean one part of me looks at the HR disparity and go with this park everyone should swing for the fences. But as much as we worried about the pitching staff it's probably equally as important that guys don't screw up their swings for these few games and get into a 2 week funk.
  13. While I'd just bring up Lara at this point, as it stands right now regardless of how that unfolds holding onto Garrett is the most likely move. He is providing good actual production for us at the moment, and because of his history with us having a lot of OF options it is easy to give him off days and spread the playing time around, so in some ways that's actually valuable to us. He still has an unusual enough profile that he likely hasn't answered enough questions to bring back a really good return (now again if the Tigers are desperate for us to include him in a Skubal trade that's completely different). Offseason is more often when the club likes to deal position players and at that point if he stays relatively healthy for a whole season and keep producing that value might be very different. Alternatively year 2 of arbitration next year still means he isn't expensive to bring back, or if he falls off you can still move on relatively painlessly.
  14. Radio just mentioned the new stadium location will be almost 1000 ft lower in elevation which helps
  15. 85 mph exit velocity at a 51 degree launch angle goes an average of 239 feet. Gelof just did that and it went 282 feet. Google AI suggests that 239 feet would have only carried an extra 24 at Coors on average.
  16. This feels more over the top than pre-humidor Coors, its early so maybe it won't be so ridiculous over time.
  17. Would anyone notice if you put a jersey on the pitching machine and just hoped for the best?
  18. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/what-are-teams-paying-for-a-win-in-free-agency-2026-edition/ Lists the going Free Agent rate for bench players at 6.5 million per WAR. Blake Perkins currently has 3.4 WAR. So roughly speaking Perkins has produced 22 million in value for the Crew and that is probably about the worst case scenario for Lara at this stage, so yes this is a fantastic deal given the breakout he has had on offense this year.
  19. Except that would be 3 days in a row for Patrick. No game is worth risking his health at this point
  20. I also vote for instant classic, I saw it had 21 pages this morning and my first thought was cheese sandwich.
  21. Well maybe it started with that bug going around. Maybe Lara was laid low and in his suffering called his agent and said "I need that Pratt deal"
  22. By time you are done handing out off days to everyone Lara getting a full time shot in CF doesn't cost Bauers too many ABs. Spell Jackson a bit, give Yelich a few more days here and there off from DHing.
  23. I don't know Chapman might be real expensive Perkins, and I'm hearing they are demanding Rengifo and Carlos Rodriguez
