  1. There sure are a lot of people on Brewerfan with pensions. I can't imagine retiring before 65 which is another 25 years, accounting pays well but health insurance costs are too much and want to delay eating into the 401k.
  2. Yes but Santander can be looked at as guy that could potentially play every day. QTC is kind of limited in that he may only be a LOOGY, could be better than that but the ceiling isn't really t here.
  3. Don't care about the Dodgers but it will hurt on Friday knowing I could be going to the World Series that night.
  4. Burdi joined the Pirates in September so will have to be on the Pirates for the first two months or so. I guess that is the advantage of being on the DL, Burdi doesn't have to be in the majors all year, just has to get to his 90 days and then can be optioned.
  5. For the acquiring team QTC would get a full MLB salary in 2019 and a year of service then would have to remain on the 40 man all off season before getting his 90 days in 2020. Plus it is still risky for any pitcher to have TJ surgery. I don't think that is all that attractive.
  6. With Moose/Schoop/Soria there is $35 million dollars that can go one way or the other so it is hard to tell how much flexibility they really have right now. Really can have anywhere between 95-135 million payroll before free agency begins.
  7. Very small sample but right handers Dozier/Machado/Puig and Taylor are 0/6 with 4 strikeouts and 4 walks against him. So looking at that the walks are a real risk but really shouldn't have him on the roster if they don't trust him. He has been dominant against right handed hitters all year.
  8. I do wish that they showed some confidence in Peralta against some of these tough right handed hitters. Yes, he is a rookie but so is Burnes and he has been put in some high leverage spots.
  9. I have been real impressed with the ability of this team to come back when they face adversity. There have been plenty of times this season when fans and media said they couldn't win the division any longer and they did. Really looking forward to see how they play tonight.
  10. As prices go down on Stubhub the prices rise on the Brewers site. Terrace is up to $115 face.
  11. It seems that Miller Park has more standing room tickets than other stadiums so that is what I will be looking for, hopefully under $600. I had SRO once and vowed I would never do that again but just want to be in the door if the World Series is in Milwaukee.
  12. Should be around the same as last time. 10 AM cutoff day the series starts.
  13. I'll have to look for that, thanks Hawing. I have now lived in Madison a few years and it has felt like sometimes I was the only Brewers fan around here. However, the last couple of weeks I have seen Brewers gear everywhere and tons of interest at bars and restaurants for the tiebreaker and playoff games.
  14. Storming the field in baseball really died down in the mid to late 80's. The last time I can recall was when the Mariners won a tie breaker game to get to the post season for the first time. Not a big fan of storming the field especially in college basketball where it happens all the time but wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again if the Brewers made the World Series.
  15. I talked to a ticket rep from the Brewers and they are selling full NLCS strips with season ticket deposits now but don't guarantee anything for the World Series. Apparently a third of the tickets for each game of the World Series is taken by MLB, leaving only about 28,000 or so seats to everybody else. There might be a SSH presale for whatever remaining World Series tickets are remaining but can't say for sure.
  16. Well Schoop did hit a Grand Slam off Madison Bumgarner a few weeks back so he has shown he can deliver against big time pitchers in critical situations. Not so confident in Saladino.
  17. But didn't those long time SShs already have the opportunity to buy full playoff strips that included every World Series Game? I believe even 20 pack holders had that opportunity.
  18. Tried to get tickets again today as the Brewers indicated there would be some with no success. I imagine demand will be quite high from here on out on the secondary market as these games will all be on the weekend, including the World Series if they make it.
  19. I actually still think there is a lot of pressure on the Brewers because of home field. Really think the Brewers need to set the tone with the series and win the first one. If they lose the first then there is a ton of pressure the second game because the next three are in LA.
  20. One of the coolest moments last night for me was when Jimmy Nelson was introduced as part of the team before the game. Didn't get too much of a reaction and probably most like me assumed he wouldn't be there but was nice to see him back with everybody. Was a big part of the celebration at the end as well. Have been following him on Twitter and real impressed with the work he is putting in to get back. Odds are still against him to return to previous form but wouldn't be able to tell him that. Something to really look forward to next year no matter how far this team gets this year.
  21. I got to the Molitor lot around 3 with heavy traffic on Bluemound and we were way toward the back of the lot. Not sure where they put the rest of the long line of cars.
  22. No Cedeno or Jennings but Broxton and Santana both make it. As expected by many the last couple of days Peralta also makes it.
  23. I'm excited to see how this plays out Thursday. The Brewers have solid pitchers that are good against righties but they can also throw Gonzalez/Miley/Cedeno(or Jennings) and of course Hader against the lefties.
  24. Sometimes depends on the opponent. Rockies have Blackmon batting leadoff and then Parra/Dahl but their big time guys Story and Arenado are right handed. Probably shouldn't have Peralta facing too many lefties but Peralta can be an asset in this series.
  25. You can't just drive in and pay the attendants? From what I read, no, everything on ballpark app. I am guessing they are limited on employees these days since this isn't exactly planned. The Brewers had a press release stating parking day of game would be "very limited" so beware if you don't buy in advance.
