  1. Love that BrewerWorld got this correct on Twitter.
  2. I am excited to watch the left handed hitting on base machine Yelich play at Miller Park for the next few years. I may cringe if any one of Brinson/Diaz/Harrison turn into All Stars but Yelich in his prime should be fun.
  3. It also depends on the cost of the items because the cost isn't less for the team but they are selling more of it. If sales were $100 before and cost was 20, maybe sales are $116 now with cost of 50. So even though overall revenue could go up, the profit can still be lower.
  4. I think it is pretty silly Clemens/Bonds are not in when they are on the actual ballot. If Rose made it to the ballot and still wasn't elected I would think that was odd as well. You know they will get in so why wait until year 10 and take away votes from others in the process.
  5. I would like a baseball team to try that out where there are 81 home games. An 8 game football season sample might be too small. I might buy a $3 pizza at first but then realize $3 is still too much for a pizza slice so would overall revenue be down or up with a baseball team.
  6. If Perez played defense as bad as Yuni he wouldn't be on the team. He plays solid defense at 2B, 3B, LR, RF. Also those stats are deceiving because Perez has played much better here than Detroit and Yuni B played much worse in Milwaukee. Updated for Brewers plaY: Perez: Brewers Line .266/.292/.409/.701 Yuni B: Brewers Line .235/.258/.371/.628
  7. I see Walker and McGriff having the biggest jumps next year especially with 2019 year being McGriff's last year on the ballot and Walker second to last.
  8. Hall of fame members that don't meet the other requirements go to the Wall of Honor so he will be added sometime this summer.
  9. That......works in........movies..........not...........in real.............life. It happens in real life all the time, I don't know specifically about baseball, but in the business world deals are called off all the time for the dumbest reasons.
  10. It was noted in the podcast how Jeffress made it known how much he likes playing in Milwaukee and wanted to stay. Do you ever discourage players from making those kinds of comments. Kind of reminds me when the actress Michelle Williams said she would do reshoots for free because she loves the director and the project so much and she did basically end up working for free.
  11. I agree with you that the list really isn't as long as it appears sometimes when a long list is given and many really don't deserve 40 man spots. However, it goes back to the fact that the Brewers need a major league 25 man roster and then 13 or 14 minor leaguers that will be on the 40 man and probably 1 or two guys on the DL to make up the remaining 40 man in season. You listed 12 guys, that leaves 1 or 2 minor leaguers currently on the 40 man. Current minor leaguers or the guys on your list will have to make significant jumps to be on the 2019 Brewers opening day roster. If not, then some of those 12 you listed will have to be left unprotected/traded or current minor leaguers on the 40 man will have to be DFA/traded.
  12. Kind of odd that an established major leaguer in Josh Hader is still free and doing signings in the morning and afternoon
  13. All of this stuff is very interesting and if it indeed comes true then the rumored interest for guys like Cain and Moustakas starts to make some sense. Certainly think the possibility exists that none of these big trade/free agent pickups happen but the off season goes from boring to a well thought out plan.
  14. I think that is reading too much into the move. Trading Thames to play Choi is a significant downgrade at the position.
  15. I doubt that will be said. If a Darvish or Arrieta type is signed payroll suddenly jumps from 70 to 90-100 million. If he said $100 million then fans will expect a large signing.
  16. Disney has really done a great job with Star Wars thus far. Solo looks like it could have issues but three quality ones to start it out.
  17. 1 or more of them might be removed at the end of spring training for a NRI that makes the team... Could be but Nelson to the 60 day DL would happen first.
  18. I really hope they don't go with an eight man rotation, would much rather have Perez/Aguilar as options vs another pitcher. They have a number of guys including Suter, Wang, Webb, Wilkerson, Williams, Houser, Lopez and even Barnes if need be to rotate between Milwaukee and the minors as the 7th bullpen guy. I think if Walker is re-signed I think Villar is the one to go because Perez is a better utility guy and a solid player at 2B, 3B and corner outfield. They obviously can't go long term with Sogar/Perez as SS but they are okay to fill in.
  19. MLB Pipeline hasn't been updated in a while so could be anybody on that list but the Baseball America Brewers top 10 was updated early November so based on that I would think Brinson, Woodruff, Burnes, Hiura, Harrison and Ortiz are in the top 100. Possibly Philips.
  20. I kind of like Nick Gordon but nowhere near what the Brewers would want for Hader. The author even notes the Brewers are looking at an upgrade at second but don't know how a AA 2B would help the major league team.
  21. Yeah, the most ludicrous was the Burnes for Archer and that wasn't a fan from the other team.
  22. Like previously said they are just trying to be inclusive to all. They have also had faith nights with postgame concert. I don't recall marriage days but they have plenty of family days, they do have singles nights as well and try to connect single Brewers fans. They usually have ladies night that some complain about. Have also honored other heritages, which made me realize we had a fan from Italy on this site. They have had days where you can bring your dog to the park for animal lovers and the list goes on.
  23. Bummer, I think there are guys less talented on the 40 man. I understand why they thought he might clear since he made it through most of MLB last time around but the Dodgers are one of the teams that didn't have a chance to claim him last time.
  24. Well with a $18 million bonus that will probably result in a low base in 2018. 4.5 protated bonus plus say $1 million base is only 5.5 cap hit.
  25. You also have to add Monte Harrison and Carlos Herrera to the potential 40 man/exposed to rule 5. Adding those two probably takes off a couple of pitching prospects in addition to the DFA/trade of Webb, Wilkerson, Wang, Lopez and Guerra that you did.
