  1. Unless somebody in the bullpen gets hurt I don't see how Guerra gets back to Milwaukee until September. They have stuck with Torres this long, not likely to DFA him the last week of August and as long as Barnes keeps hitting 100 not going to send him down. Also, Sogard was mentioned as a possible option but he can refuse an assignment and the Brewers do still seem to like him even after the addition of Walker.
  2. If Woodruff is optioned after Saturday's game they can just go with a four man rotation of Davies, Nelson, Garza, Anderson until September call up due to all of the off days.
  3. Maybe the Mets want to make sure the player isn't picked up in the rule 5 draft kind of like how the Pina trade wasn't finalized until after the draft.
  4. I think it can, the 2008 team was 4-15 during September until they had that amazing last home stand which of course lead to a playoff appearance. They still have time to turn this around and if they could get Phillips for not much of anything then why not.
  5. Not sure why Humans Need Water is getting so upset about this. Yeah, Villar has a better ceiling and had a nice year in 2016 but right now the Brewers are still in it and Villar stinks, you can't just ignore that at this point in the season. I don't think anybody is saying Dejesus is the long term answer, just that right now the Brewers need better play at the 2B position and they have no other options at the big league level. I'm not usually a change for change sake type of guy but the Brewers are at a crossroads now and desperate times call for desperate measures.
  6. Thanks Reilly, a couple of things I found interesting: Our 9-11 ranked players (Ray/Clark/Dubon) were each left off a ballot. Stokes had the lowest amount of people voting for him than any player in the top 25 and he ended up at #22. 33 of 61 ballots. Lara went from being on 58 ballots last summer to 1 ballot this summer.
  7. 2015 skews that quite a bit, why not include 2014 with the Brewers then it is an easy call. I think how he finishes up the year will determine if he has value. Easy to say he doesn't after yesterday.
  8. Braun is getting hot and is about to carry this team to a nice winning streak.
  9. Results oriented is the best way to evaluate a trade/signing/draft pick. Ultimately results is the difference between getting fired or getting an extension and why they get paid the big bucks. Doesn't matter that most of us would have gotten rid of Scooter, in the end it was a bad move by Stearns.
  10. Something to consider for the next poll is going back to the MLB rules for eligibility because it results in too many relievers remaining eligible. It sure looks like Hader will be under 50 at year end and seems silly to keep him eligible when he is such an important piece to the MLB team. I know the rules were kind of changed because of Wang but he isn't getting many votes anymore and hopefully we don't have to worry about rule 5 picks in the near future.
  11. The rays are a good team but hopefully the Brewers dominance of the AL East continues. Nice pitching matchup tonight with a couple of young promising pitchers.
  12. I love the Brewers but think it would drive me crazy trying to go to every game and see every pitch. Am kind of jealous though that he retired in 2001 at 43 years old.
  13. 1. Lewis Brinson 2. Josh Hader 3. Brandon Woodruff 4. Keston Hiura 5. Luis Ortiz 6. Corbin Burnes 7. Isan Diaz 8. Mauricio Dubon 9. Trent Clark 10. Brett Phillips 11. Corey Ray 12. Troy Stokes 13. Freddy Peralta 14. Tristen Lutz 15. Phil Bickford 16. Jake Gatewood 17. Lucas Erceg 18. Jacob Nottingham 19. Cody Ponce 20. Trey Supak 21. Monte Harrison 22. Marcos Diplan 23. Kodi Medeiros 24. Carlos Herrera 25. Jordan Yamamoto 26. Taylor Williams 27. Gilbert Lara 28. Caden Lemons 29. Mario Feliciano 30. Zach Clark 31. Josh Pennington 32. Jorge Lopez 33. Bubba Derby 34. Kyle Wren 35. Nate Orf 36. Angel Ventura 37. Tristan Archer 38. Wei-Chung Wang 39. KJ Harrison 40. Aaron Wilkerson With Hader/Brinson graduating soon it should be interesting to see who gets the #1 spot the next time we do this.
  14. Since this team gets compared to the 2014 team all the time I will go with 19-8, the April record of that 2014 team and their best month.
  15. UPDATE: Nieuwenhuis DFA'd as well.
  16. I have my doubts that Jeffress will help much this year but hoping that with a couple of year of arbitration left he can have a bounce back year or two.
  17. Nottingham is still a guy that will be protected, they could trade him or another catcher(s) as well but he for sure would be picked.
  18. I think it is a fair point to have regarding Dubon. He has gone from a 689 OPS in AA to a 840 OPS in AAA and has already doubled the home run total he had in AA. Kind of did the same thing last year though when he went from high A to AA. Looking forward to next year and seeing if he can provide more offense at the big league level than Rivera has been able to show.
  19. I thought they might bring up Wang but then see that they didn't pitch Espino last night and still pitched Wang 1+ innings. Therefore I imagine Espino is up but don't know if they make a second move.
  20. Just for entertainment purposes if a position player pitched would like it to be Thames and see if Harper would charge the mound on him.
  21. The Brewers are currently in first and it is fact, why is this even being debated. You could argue you would rather have less losses but can't argue who is technically first.
  22. "My God! That's Brandon Woodruff's music!!!!" I know it is just a Jim Ross reference but Woodruff hasn't been down 10 days so couldn't start unless somebody else goes on the DL. It will be now fun to speculate who will take Garza's spot in the rotation though, could be anywhere from a trade acquisition to Wilkerson to giving Hader a start.
  23. My answer could change depending on if the Brewers are still in contention but would like the coaching staff to get a look at Wang, Barbosa, Ramirez and Webb so they and Stearns can make a decision on who has the best chance of helping this team going forward and if Wang/Ramirez/Barbosa should perhaps replace Webb on the 40 man. Would also like them to get a look at Angel Ventura, if not a MLB starter could he potentially be a decent option next year for the bullpen. Maybe call up Dejesus and he could be an utility guy next year.
  24. Yeah I don't see the similarity. They traded the 2, 11 and 25th best prospect on the power 50 at the time in the Linebrink trade. Would be more along the line of trading Woodruff, Clark and Pennington for a reliever rental.
  25. Taylor Williams wasn't on the previous list but Devin was, Hader graduated, Jorge Lopez dropped out, Demi O as well.
