  1. I wouldn't be surprised if they do go more toward that route. They did it with the Bernie bobblehead and Lucroy jersey and backup. Could be moving away from the bobble and more kid only items.
  2. He wants to bring balance to the lineup so I can see where he is coming from since he has made that stance known. Not saying that Parra would bounce back but with all the below average outfielders that played this year and forcing Perez to play RF and even CF, I am pretty positive that Parra would get plenty of playing time. It is kind of strange how bad defensively Parra is now though still in his 20's when just a few years ago he was above average.
  3. Bronson is right handed FWIW. However, your overall point still stands.
  4. While doing the prospect rankings I saw how left handed hitting the future of this team is. While the likely #1 prospect Brinson is righty, the next top five positional players by many in Erceg, Ray, Phillips, Clark and Diaz all bat left handed. This lineup should be balanced in the next three years if things go as planned.
  5. 1. Lewis Brinson 2. Josh Hader 3. Luis Ortiz 4. Isan Diaz 5. Corey Ray 6. Brandon Woodruff 7. Phil Bickford 8. Brett Phillips 9. Marcos Diplan 10. Trent Clark 11. Gilbert Lara 12. Lucas Erceg 13. Cody Ponce 14. Jorge Lopez 15. Jacob Nottingham 16. Ryan Cordell 17. Freddy Peralta 18. Kodi Medeiros 19. Michael Reed 20. Troy Stokes 21. Brent Suter 22. Jake Gatewood 23. Clint Coulter 24. Devin Williams 25. Garrett Cooper
  6. No they are not and I have had an issue with the Walk of Fame in the past because the voters treat it like the Baseball Hall Of Fame, which is why I think it is great that the Brewers did add the Wall of Honor. I do think Jenkins does get into the Walk of Fame soon as he was over 50% last year. I think Sheets deserves it as well but don't think he has been eligible for a vote yet.
  7. Segura actually ended up only 73 short. Scooter may get in if not traded this off season. I actually think it is fine the way it is, it isn't an exclusive club but it is fun to look at the plaques outside Miller Park and recall players I used to watch but had not thought about in years. Sheets and Jenkins do have plaques outside the stadium.
  8. It is 250 appearances by a pitcher not 50. Yes, it is automatic entry after retirement but they try to get the player to show up at some point during the season for induction. I would expect Hart to show up next year but could be as long as a few years for Fielder until he is no longer a Ranger.
  9. My vote would to wait a little and get some AFL results but probably wouldn't wait much longer than the end of the World Series. Otherwise there probably will be some transactions while the voting is taking place. I do think there is a chance a top 25 player or borderline guy gets selected in the rule 5 draft depending on who they protect.
  10. I think anywhere from 10-14 will get removed this off season, possibly more if Stearns makes some waiver claims. My prediction: Capuano and Boyer (free agency), Goforth, Houser, Rowen, Pinto, Cecchini, Wilkins, Elmore, Liriano, Rivera, Blazek. Would have said Scahill a month ago but he earned a spot the last month. A good chance Goforth, Houser, Liriano, Rivera stick with the organization. ------------------------ Discussion continued here: 40-man roster discussion (part 2)
  11. Ultimately it only matters what Stearns and Counsell think. This weekend Counsell indicated that they would have been a much better offensive team with left handed options, however it doesn't mean Stearns will provide Counsell with that player or players. Maybe it is an indication however that Counsell will give Scooter plenty of playing time if he is still on the team.
  12. I agree with you LouisEly. I see that the Brewers still have 44 guys on the 40 man and in my estimate they will add 6 more to protect from the rule 5 draft so they will have to remove at least 10 players and think Rivera is one of them. I really don't think he gets claimed and therefore will get outrighted to the minors and a possible call up if they need a SS next year at some point.
  13. Flores is garbage, I have watched him plenty and see he will likely never hit at the big league level. I have stated you are wrong there and will continue to.
  14. with that prediction, one of four catchers will have to be removed from the 40-man. I don't really consider Pinto a catcher, under no circumstances will he be the backup at catcher. If he is kept he stays for his pinch hitting and playing first.
  15. I don't see the Brewers adding Wren or Orf, maybe Cooper. If they thought they were going to add them I think they would have seen time in Milwaukee in September especially since they are older. I would expect the Brewers to again pick at least one player in the rule 5 draft, maybe 2 again. Don't think they trade Garza until next summer if at all, do think Scooter has the best chance to be traded even more than Braun. Do think they will stick with all three catchers on the 40 man this winter, maybe optioning Susac to start 2017. Will be shopping Torres but not sure about the demand, maybe another summer trade. Carter has grown on me, hope he sticks around but if they get blown away with an offer then take it.
  16. That could be viewed in a negative light though. A fan base can be proud to say 2.3 millions fans have come to see the Brewers play since 2006. It doesn't sound as good to say something along the lines of we collected $70,000,000 in revenue from the fans this year. Especially if the payroll is low.
  17. Fat chance, he will be getting #1 ranking for at least the next two polls unless an age limit is created.
  18. I do think some view Chris Carter as underrated because there is certainly value in a guy hitting 40+ homers and still having an OBP around 320. I think Khris Davis still is more valuable though because Carter has pretty much hit his ceiling, he just swings and missed too much. Davis has shown in the minors he can get on base as shown by his career OBP being 100 points greater than his average, it just hasn't translated in the majors yet. Even last year people around here were saying 30 home runs is pretty much his ceiling but he obviously has done much better than that. I don't know why anyone would say Carter has a edge defensively, they both play a position in the field and both are considered below average. With all of that said I don't have any issue with Stearns trading Davis as I do think Santana can exceed Davis offensively, even though I will continue to claim he is just as bad defensively. Sure Davis would have more trade value now if Stearns held on to him but nobody could have predicted Santana's injury and as stated by someone previously it is certainly possible that Davis could have been injured again.
  19. So over the next 10 days all they have to do is find a spot for him to catch and pitch an inning during a blowout.
  20. In theory I don't mind Braun being traded but man there is a chance this team can be really pathetic and hard to watch without him next year. Especially if they hold back guys like Brinson and Hader.
  21. Correct, but there is no gaining of a year of service time by putting him I'm the minors as previously stated. He was already well over the three years point. For example the Brewers gained another year by sending Peralta to the minors.
  22. You are correct from what I have read.. Before they optioned him it was well talked about in the Dodgers forums/blogs sphere that they could gain an extra year...for themselves or an eventual trade. I think he can opt out for arbitration at any point, but that does matter in all honesty. Actually I would love for him to be traded here and do that since it means he is hitting well enough to get a raise. Baseball reference has him listed at 2.119 to start the year so don't see any way another year was gained since he played well over 53 games in the majors this year.
  23. 1993 was one of the worst years as a fan. Both of these teams were 90 win teams the previous year and totally collapsed the next year with both having win totals in the 60's. Both teams were probably filled with frustrated players and managers.
  24. Still think it is a longshot Braun puts up HOF type numbers but if he can stick around like a Beltre or Ortiz he has as chance.
  25. That would certainly help with the short bullpen if a starter is available to pitch in the bullpen every game. I just don't know how it would work in reality though since bullpen guys always seem to like defined rolls. Would the starter always be the 6 or 7th inning guy? Plus, what happens if they don't pitch, is a bullpen session the next day too late?
