  1. It will count just as much as any other season and certainly worth it if safe to do so.
  2. I agree that Simmons should be in the Walk of Fame but also think Jenkins deserved it. The voters have always done a poor job with it, probably should reduce the numbers of voters so there are only people who actually know Brewers history. Yes Simmons is known for being a Cardinal but five years is a decent amount of time for a Hall of Fame player to be with the Brewers. Agree with Fingers as well, although getting his number retired appears to be a bit of a stretch.
  3. I have been to a couple of Wal Marts in the Madison area by home and work this week and while they are limiting people and only have one entrance they have not shut down any departments.
  4. Really, I drive the beltline every day for work it and has been one of the few positives. Usually bumper to bumper to and from work and has been smooth sailing for the last week or so.

  6. Well as of now most places are limited to gatherings of 10 so it doesn't really make sense to keep a theater open.
  7. No matter if it is 1918 or 2020 going outside should be done by all and helps the immune system. Hopefully people are not just staying inside all day. One of the few benefits for me with this is going on more bike rides with the kids.
  8. Hopefully never, driving is one thing you can do safely.
  9. I would agree that giving weekly Spring Training updates on Shaw is kind of overkill and doesn't necessarily translate to regular season performance. I hope he turns it around, appears that he has kind words about the Brewers organization even if his time here didn't end well.
  10. Bumping since Ted Simmons was elected to the Hall of Fame recently and will be inducted this summer. The extension of Yelich and his play since 2018 certainly increases the chances that he will be the next player to go in as a Brewer. Greinke has also increased his chances since the initial post in 2018, Sabathia is probably about the same. Aramis Ramirez will appear on the next ballot to be released in January 2021.
  11. I would.probably say the Yount catch since it is the team's only no hitter with Gomez robbing Votto second and Jeffress Matrix like catch against the Twins 3rd.
  12. The Athletic did a breakdown of a few contracts last January at https://theathletic.com/756032/2019/01/08/what-we-can-learn-from-the-history-of-10-year-mlb-contracts-from-garland-and-zisk-to-cano-and-stanton/ but it is a pay site. To quote one sentence from it though: Still, those first two seasons were so good that —based on his bWAR total and the average value of a marginal win (one win of bWAR) over the course of his contract to this point — with two years still remaining on his contract, he has already earned far more than the $145.5 million the Brewers committed to him from 2011 through 2020.
  13. Maybe I have missed it but I always assumed Gyroko would make the roster. Still don't know how Morrison really fits in.
  14. Keith Law has him at number 2. It is a pay site but his top 5 is Turang/Feliciano/Brown/Smal/Ashby. Kind of surprised he still has Brown at 3 but he still only thinks of him as a back end starter. There are other guys like Ray/Taylor/Erceg that are higher ranked by Law than others but he still doesn't think much of them so kind of indicative of the farm as a whole. Unlike Pipeline that has Perez/Medina/Quero in their top 20, Law has none in his top 20.
  15. According to Rosenthal he doesn't know if it is an additional 7 years or if the contract will replace the 3 years left on the contract. So at this point can be under contract anywhere from 2026-2029.
  16. Right, we do not know if MLB will be on the same system. The 5 year deal may end up buying out a year of free agency. If Stearns believes free agency could occur at 5 years of less then it may make sense to make more deals like this.
  17. Interesting how the first time the Astros are on the road it is against the Athletics and Fiers may be pitching.
  18. It is hard to take seriously firing Bud after failing to make the finals one time. I guess in theory if he failed to make the finals in three more consecutive years with a healthy Giannis then yes he would be fired no doubt.
  19. The Brewers do go to Boston this year so hopefully he can visit some of them again this year. Either way he will likely stay involved with the Jimmy Fund.
  20. Just curious, is this your personal list or does Brew Crew Review have a panel that makes up the list? Hedbert Perez appears to be a popular prospect, looking forward to seeing what he actually does at the professional level. Also, Ray Black certainly isn't rookie eligible.
  21. Right, that whole Patriots thing just disappeared.
  22. The players would have to be compensated, how much is a different matter.
  23. Finally got around to seeing the Joker and it was bizarre watching as it was like somebody wanted to combine The King of Comedy and Taxi Driver into one movie while making the main character the eventual Joker. Add in the fact that Robert De niro was in this movie as well and I now can't blame Scorsese for not liking comic book movies as even comic book movies that are more artsy are just rip offs of a couple of his movies.
  24. Nobody claimed Hammer and he was outrighted. Often times surprised who clears and who gets claimed, would have thought Hammer would be a good depth guy to have at AAA to call up/down for some team out there. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/02/phillies-outright-j-d-hammer.html
  25. I doubt the Brewers feel Erceg is anywhere near ready since they didn't put him on the 40 man.
