  1. The deadline to add players to the 40 man and protect them from the rule 5 draft is tomorrow. Real interested to see what they do. Maybe learned to not protect borderline guys like Stokes because they could be let go with no restrictions during the season if there is a roster crunch. Appears now that they have a lot of room but that could change in August when trying to secure a playoff spot.
  2. Once the game starts I likely won't care but I am probably more in the camp of why honor the past with these 70's, 80's and I guess 90's with the gray when the past has historically been bad. Somewhere in here or elsewhere it was mentioned Stearns didn't change the uniforms in 2015 because he didn't want the make the change when the team was expected to be bad but that was probably the time to do it. Now they have had years of success and dump the uniforms when they have actually been winning. Would have been fine with just changing the hat but even the hat has grown on me.
  3. Well Garrett was suspended for at least the rest of the season and playoffs, Pouncey 3 games.
  4. This is an easy rest of season suspension, no doubt.
  5. She was really abused and she was angry her abusive husband would see her talking about it on tv and feared her life and more abuse. Her then husband committed suicide before the episode aired. There was a fairly long gap between filming and airing of the show. So not a real good time in her life but that was like 8 years ago at this point.
  6. It's kind of hard to laugh at an abused woman so yeah I hate it too.
  7. Based on the first episode you don't really have to know or care much about what happened in any of the other movies/shows so the Mandalorian may be the way go.
  8. Yeah, we locked into that three year deal late August. Sometimes tough to wake up the kids but woke up right away to watch the Mandalorian, episode 1 which was around 35 minutes. Unlike Netflix they will not be releasing new series all at once which I won't mind so I don't get spoiled.
  9. I'd rather have Minnesota beat Iowa, and have the Badgers spoil Minnesota's unbeaten season, get back the axe, then sit back and watch as they get pummeled by Ohio State. I want no part of a rematch with Ohio State which is far and away the best team in the country (and it's not close, sorry LSU fans, Ohio State will hang 50 on you). It's unfathomable to me that several of you are so afraid of facing OSU that you would actually prefer to NOT win the division and NOT play for the B10 Championship just to avoid facing them. It's like rooting for the Packers to lose the NFC Championship because you think they'll get destroyed by the Patriots. Ohio State is great, but we did hang with them for most of the first half last game before things completely fell apart. Obviously, we'd need to play a much better game and hope they played a poor game, but you always want that chance. You always want that opportunity to face #1. It's really not a good comparison. In the Packers scenario you are rooting for a Packers loss, in the Badgers scenario you still want them to win every game. It is completely out of the Badgers control if they go to the Big Ten championship game. The Packers can win a championship if they go to the Super Bowl. There is no scenario where the Badgers win the national championship
  10. What were you expecting for Chase Anderson? Spanberger is at least an actual honest-to-goodness prospect. Not really as he wasn't even in the Blue Jays top 30 but also didn't expect much for Chase.
  11. But every team is subject to the TBD pitcher limit so everybody can't be designated a pitcher. Still probably not a big deal but neither rule is necessary IMHO. Let the GM figure out the number of pitchers needed on the roster and let the manager decide who should hit and pitch. It is not something that needs to be regulated.
  12. I hope Stearns isn't as socially clueless as some of these Astros guys and it didn't rub off him: Astros GM Jeff Luhnow was asked whether he had personally reached out to @stephapstein to apologize. Luhnow said he’s been busy and hasn’t had the time. Stephanie was sitting in the room. — Hazel Mae (@thehazelmae) October 24, 2019
  13. Right, in this case Mike Olt was put on the DL and Bryant recalled so they were giving Olt a shot until it was necessary to call up Bryant due to injury. However, I'm sure Bryant's team will argue that the Cubs waited to put Olt on the DL until there was no longer a service time issue with Bryant. Olt wasn't put on the DL right after he got injured and even played after injury.
  14. When teams hold back players for super 2 I think it is harder to prove any wrong doing. However, Bryant might have a case since he missed the one year service time by a single day. I do think the collectively bargained agreement will still make it a tough but it is not a slam dunk that Bryant will be denied free agency next year.
  15. I think we have and that is why his career has a good chance of being over.
  16. Seems like Feyereisen would be a pitcher the Brewers would like to protect since they traded for him just makes me wonder why the Yankees never gave him a shot. Guess I would protect Brown, Bickford and Ray still just for potential. Have a feeling somebody would take Bickford even though he was only in A+. I am interested in how Cooper Hummel performs in 2020 but don't think he gets selected. Could maybe see Hinojosa be the next Perez/Spangenberg but only cheaper with options.
  17. I think the pick win fairly easy, maybe not a huge blowout but never really in doubt, 26-10 or something like that. Trent Brown and his domestic abuse issues may lead to him not playing and could be an overall team distraction for the Raiders as well.
  18. Will still be difficult to make this team with others like Faria, Black, Junior Guerra, Taylor Williams having no options and only 8 total spots in the bullpen.
  19. Definitely have not given up on Nottingham, a lot has Bern made of Yasmani being 31 next year but Pina will be 33 so would be nice to have a younger catcher to take over the reserve role in 2021.
  20. The Brewers Wall of Honor is a set criteria so unless your name is K-Rod there is no will he or won't he make it. Perez doesn't meet the set criteria.
  21. I don't think he will regret the opt out clause, there should be plenty of teams willing to offer him a 40 man spot. His numbers post DFA were quite a bit better, teams can do much worse at the back end of the pen especially with options remaining.
  22. No I am with you, college OT is horrible. The NFL for its faults is still played like a regular game. Placing the ball at the opponents 25 and making it an arena football game is bad.
  23. Taylor Williams as well so that may be why they added a guy like this. He could potentially be a shuttle guy.
  24. The Brewers wouldn't get away with demoting Hiura to start the year. Plus, he has to be down a couple of weeks just to impact 1 day of service time. Being down 2 weeks does nothing.
  25. That is weird, wouldn't think Jay Jackson would have the leverage to ask for that when he signed a minor league contract that he would become a free agent even if he was on the major league roster.
