  1. Woodruff and Burnes are both controlled by the Brewers four more season.
  2. It's not that hard to figure out, he can't hit and has never shown the ability to hit. He can walk, which is certainly a plus but not a guy you want getting too many at bats. Of course he isn't making much so doesn't deserve much criticism, guys like Garcia and Sogard making much more than him and playing worse certainly deserve more criticism than Jace.
  3. I find it real hard to believe that the Rams can keep up with the Packers. Only chance for them is getting the Packers to start slow and Akers running a bunch and winning the time of possession. If the Rams fall behind they are done, Goff is pretty bad right now. Pack by 7 seems fair but imagine they win by at least twice that.
  4. I don't know if Cobb was racist or not but Al Stump made up a lot of stuff over his lifetime and certainly not hard to believe he made up a lot of stuff about Cobb. Not a lot out there supporting Stump's claims but a movie was made about Cobb based on the Stump's writings and Ken Burns Baseball piggy backed on that.
  5. How so? You could say that after the Yelich trade a number of years ago but if the Brewers are void of premium talent now it isn't because of previous trades. In hindsight they didn't give up much of anything, certainly not premium talent.
  6. It will be interesting to see what they do with Grogu down the line. If he survived what happened in Revenge of the Sith and after I don't see why he couldn't survive Ben Solo. Would have still been a kid during episodes 7-9 so would almost have to set a television show/movie a couple hundred years in to the future to show Gorgu in his prime.
  7. I still visited the one by us with the family. It is connected to a Marco's Pizza and would browse the aisles while waiting for the pizza. Kids videos were free so never very expensive. Certainly liked them more than Blockbuster.
  8. Absolutely, if the Packers really want to extend Jones it is attainable, especially since year 1 is always the lowest cap number in a long term contract. Certainly more feasible than giving Jones the franchise tax as has been suggested. With that said, I do think they move on. Also agree that it is a difficult subject to debate and lay out a plan because nobody does know what the cap will be in 2021. Any expert saying with certainty that it will be $175 is blowing smoke.
  9. I can't imagine the Packers being fine with Jones playing with the franchise tag in 2021, just too high a number when they are already not in a great position next year cap wise.
  10. I guess if you don't like championship level teams then sure. We follow the Brewers though so maybe there is some truth in that.
  11. I actually kind of like this idea. As sveumrules notes it would really only be about 25% of his time at 1B if things go well with Vogelbach. If things go south with Vogelbach then can reallocate the playing time. Gallo is pretty solid against both lefties and righties and can in theory also play all three OF positions. Still not sure how eager the Rangers really are with some comments they make praising him but worth pursuing IMHO.
  12. Could be wrong, but I feel like BA tends to be pretty aggressive with ranking newly drafted/signed players. For me at least, its hard to put guys like Zamora, Warren & Quero - who have never had a professional game - ahead of Lutz, who already has posted 110 & 120 wRC+ marks in full seasons at A & A+ while being about 2.5 years younger than average at each level & whose carrying tool (power) is probably the loudest & most important of the four players. If Tristen didn't sign out of HS & went to a four year school, he would've been draft eligible in 2020 & going into his first year of pro ball just like Freddy & Zavier. Instead he has two years of pro success under his belt & will probably open the year in AA vs complex ball/A for the other three. I agree with you here. If there was a season in 2020 he would have been in AA and likely AAA in 2021 at age 22. In 2019 Grisham was also 22 at AAA when we whiffed as a group and put him at #18. If Lutz does start at AA don"t see why he couldn't get to AAA by mid-season and a potential call up to the majors.
  13. Yeah, the McRib is atrocious even for McDonald's standards.
  14. According to my hulu lineup the game is on Fox, but I live locally so not sure if it's different from out of state. Milwaukee and Green Bay is on FOX.
  15. Don't really like him at 3B and the Brewers already have a left handed hitting 1B so probably not a good fit.
  16. I guess I'll try fubo as well. Kind of ridiculous you can't see the Packers in Madison on network television but glad there are other free legal options.
  17. It might be hard to believe for some but even large market clubs like the Yankees and Dodgers have minor league teams filled with journeymen, AAAA players and former high draft pick busts.
  18. It's a minor league deal so whatever, don't get the sarcastic responses for minor league deals. If he comes back healthy he shouldn't get paid too much and it appears he has an option left so can be part of the shuttle in 2022 as well.
  19. With a guy like Hader it has an impact because they were manipulating service time to prevent him from being super two but they misjudged and he still ended up being super 2 and will cost them financially. With Woodruff they were manipulating service time to gain an extra year of control from him, this might help with an extension because Woodruff will have to wait another year for free agency since he will not be a free agent until his age 32 season. They are fine with him being super two because they that was their intention.
  20. I don't really think it is significant either other than the Brewers have the option to keep him another year. If the Brewers called him up two weeks earlier he would be a boring first year arbitration player with three years service time. Everything will be the same between 2021-2023 no matter if he was labeled super two or not. Since the Brewers kept him barely below the three year mark they have the option to keep him a 7th year at a high price when the time comes. This also assumes the next contract doesn't change anything and there is no extension.
  21. It was already known he would be super 2, he is at 2.161. Glad they have him four years instead of three.
  22. I think the #1 seed is huge. Of course they get an automatic bye in to the next round but then they are likely facing a warm weather team like the Bucs or Cardinals or an inferior team like Washington.
  23. I don't see how he wouldn't have been eligible for the rule 5 draft. It appears the Brewers just wanted to make sure nobody picked him up in the draft.
  24. I refused to believe that's the case, even though that's probably the case. I also refuse to believe that is the case and it is highly likely Vogelbach is not the guy. Find it hard to believe anybody thinks Stearns would hand the starting first base job to Vogelbach.
  25. The NFL has a weird Hall of Fame process so it sometimes takes some players longer than it should but I would guess most of the guys mentioned get in. Wilson is beyond trending, he is in the likely category and not too far off from lock. Stafford probably not but if he gets more guys like Rodgers endorsing him then it could happen.
