  1. It makes me warm and fuzzy inside to know that the Brewers will most likely have at a minimum three .900 OPS or better players for several years (Braun, Fielder, Hart).
  2. The Mutants of 2051 A.D. Strange Brew fan? Nice - I just watched that on video a couple weeks ago. One of my favorites. Last year I was the Chicago Sex Panthers since our league was Anchorman themed but we've gone to Animal House this year so I'll probably be something like Chicago Sensual Cucumbers.
  3. It took a lot of posts for this point to be brought up, and I think it hits the nail on the head. The casual booing heard for former Brewers is nothing more than the 5 seconds of ribbing you give your best friend who goes out of state to college and comes over to your house on break wearing an Gophers t-shirt. Apparently, Wes Helms doesn't see it that way.
  4. From CBS Sportsline: 3B Ryan Braun homered in the fifth inning of Sunday's game against the Phillies to become the fastest Brewer to reach 20 career home runs. He has 20 home runs and 53 RBI in 64 games since the Brewers purchased his contract from Triple-A Nashville on May 24. He is the fastest to 20 career home runs since Albert Pujols hit his 20th home run in his 63rd game in 2001
  5. Yeah his splits against lefties are horrific this year. Granted its a pretty small sample but if that's indicative of how he's been the rest of his career it will limit his ceiling quite a bit.
  6. To me booing in general is lame. Obviously there are exceptions - boo a bad call by an ump, boo the other team when they are showing you up, boo the other team when they throw high and tight on your big hitter, boo cheaters like Sheffield and Bonds, boo your own team when they have a series of gaffs in the field, etc....but booing Wes Helms on Opening Day was inexcusable. As is all this booing of former players....yeah, it's your right as a fan and you can do what you want but it's my right to think you are an idiot too.
  7. I've always been a huge Hart fan and could never understand the minority here who thought he'd never amount to anything. He certainly has overcome that elbow problem. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/laugh.gif
  8. I was perusing some stats today and noticed just how similar Hart and Alphonso Soriano have been this year. Hart .283/.350/.520 18HR 48RBI 16/20 SB Soriano .302/.341/.521 18HR 42RBI 18/23 SB (in about 100 more ABs) Before today's game, they had nearly identical OPSsssss. I had no idea Corey was nearly a top ten OF in the NL this season. He continues to impress me. I think his ceiling is very high. (consolidated tags --1992)
  9. Did we get rid of the 'last post by' feature? In other words, the thread name would include whomever posted last.
  10. The Michaels quote is meaningful depending on who said it. If it was Estrada - who cares. If it was Capuano - post game bitterness. If it was Elmer Dessens - again, who cares.....but if was someone like Sheets or Jenkins - one of the leaders - than it might be curtains for Nedly.
  11. Yay, a spellcheck! EDIT: Hey, now I can finally read the sign on JoeHova's avatar.
  12. Was that really necessary?
  13. Disappointing: Prince Fielder: I thought he'd have hit eleven teen thousand homers by now
  14. X, But I would be fine with Mench getting 2/3 of his ABs against lefites. The problem is that Yost plays 'hot hand' and starts him against righties too. Also Yost rarely if ever pinch hits the other side of the platoon in late innings. I realize his hands are ties sometimes, but not all the time.
  15. Skating rink and Bradley Center were not built with tax dollars.
  16. Mench vs. lefties this year: .325/.350/.556 Mench vs lefties career: .307/.363/.562 He is not a problem at all if he's used correctly.
  17. It's too bad they couldn't get the ICC site worked out. I thought that project made a lot of sense - they had residential and commercial built into the actual stadium design.
  18. The amount of revenue the city of Milwaukee gets from parking tickets is astounding.
  19. Actually some guy at BP called Melvin's move the worst trade of the season so far (the link is buried somewhere in the Linebrink trade thread). I'm not so sure I agree with that assessment but it's a third party stating their case in any event. But I do think you have some very valid points Geno. I think part of the negative reaction has to do with the fact that until very recently the Brewers protected prospects like they were the gold at Fort Knox. It's a big change of pace to see them actually trading nuggets for talent.
  20. I don't think police alert media when there is a car chase. The media have police scanners and follow whichever call sounds interesting.
  21. So if you get pulled over for speeding and someone crashes trying to take your picture, would you be responsible for their death? It has nothing to do with the guy in the police chase and everything to do with principle.
  22. Good lord don't sue. Just find another doctor.
  23. I actually was thinking about something like this for a short film project. I had a guy on milwaukeebrewers.com threaten to beat me up when he got home on leave from the marines. And I believe the name I called him was 'dork'. I suggested anger management classes.....that didn't go over very well.
  24. Please tell me you aren't kidding. I would love this!
  25. You can find pretty much anyone on the internet. Try Yellowbook or something. You'd be surprised. And stalking just means you care.
