  1. Look at it this way: We don't have to worry about facing Kershaw anymore! Coming home for 2 games...the Crew's got this!
  2. How was the timing? It's frustrating if one is several seconds ahead of the other. With a DVR, you can adjust the timing by pausing the live broadcast to match up with the audio. (I use Sirius XM streaming for the Brewers radio feed, since I have access to the app on my phone.) I do this for Badger games off-and-on, and have been doing it for the Brewers in the NLCS. It takes occasional adjustment, but it's better than listening to the TV guys (except when Ueck was in the TV booth in Game 2). The downside is that you're a few seconds behind the rest of the world, which makes posting here a bit difficult, for fear of spoilers.
  3. I was AT the Packers game, listening to the Brewers game on the radio. Honestly, I feel like it may have been better listening to Ueck call the bottom of the 9th than watching the walk to load the bases. Oddly wasn't that anxious about the Packers game, even though they were behind most of the second half. I don't have high hopes about this Packers team; barring a lot of WRs recovering and Defenders other than Clark and Martinez stepping up against the run, it's tough to see this club making a playoff run. (Rodgers is covering for a lot of this team's warts.) After seeing King's pick play out right in front of me, I'm now forced to wonder if it's Brice that's getting beaten on all of the deep balls to his side of the zone, or if the underneath corner needs to be the one making those plays. For all of MM's comments about reviewing tape and "fixing" things, the defense continues to get beat by the same pass pattern and coverage, regardless of the quality of the QB making the throw.
  4. I'm going to be largely staying away from the thread, since I'm listening to the game a few minutes behind real-time. (...so that I can listen to the radio call streaming off SiriusXM synced up to the game on my DVR. Uecker = worth being a few minutes behind.)
  5. Gio's Pitcher v. Batter data (via ESPN) Not too surprisingly, Matt Kemp and Manny Machado are the bats to work around.
  6. Is one of his kids still in the analytics department for the team? I mean, yes, nepotism...but at least Mark is trying to instill an understanding of what it takes to keep the team successful.
  7. "In seven starts at Dodger Stadium, Miley is 4-0 with a 2.06 ERA." Source: http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-brewers-next-20181008-story.html Also noteworthy from the article, this tidbit from Clayton Kershaw: "One of these days, maybe in the playoffs, I'll figure out how to get Yelich out." (We all know that's not going to happen!)
  8. Wish the Braves had pushed the Dodgers to another game (to force Kershaw to pitch another game in the Division Series), but I guess the Crew will just have to do things the hard way. Weekend can't get here soon enough.
  9. Burnes could well be our K-Rod. ...not K-Rod when we got him, but back in the Angels WS run days. Orlando!
  10. Different Kohl's stores end up with vastly different inventory, on Brewers and non-Brewers stuff. One of the local stores I went to in the past month (can't remember which, unfortunately) had a variety of Eric Sogard jerseys for full price...though I admit, I didn't see a Lucroy. It's mostly what they didn't sell when stocking those items sounded like a good idea.
  11. ...anyone know what Ben Sheets is up to?
  12. The Big 3 (Hader, Jeffress, Knebel) pitched almost exclusively in games where the Brewers were tied or ahead. That was the formula. While the bullpen is the strength of the pitching staff, the formula worked because the starting pitchers could get through the batting order twice while keeping the game close. I don't see the value in deviating from the formula, much less doing so by putting up the one pitcher who had a bad start against the Rockies (3 IP, 7 ER) in Woodruff over a trio of guys who pitched reasonably well against the Rockies (Miley, Gio, and Peralta)...just because the guy with a poor outcome throws with his right hand.
  13. I think the Brewers are being too cute by half in calling this a bullpen game, rather than having one of their regular (Miley or Gonzalez) starters go 3-4 innings. I get that the Rockies hit lefties well, but have some confidence in the guys that got you to the playoffs. In Counsell We Trust, but the best recipe for today is to put up some early offense.
  14. Ironically, right about now he could actually use a hug.
  15. Even if we play the Cubs in the NLDS, Quintana's armor of invincibility has been shattered, and the Cubs can only pitch him once in a 5 game series. So happy right now.
  16. ...if he had just watched Brewers-Cubs games in September, he would have seen a Grand-y contribution.
  17. To give equal time to the Cubs MVP candidate, even though we know they all prefer Yelli.
  18. Where's Domingo's extra-base hit power? In game #163, that's where! Let's Goooooo!
  19. It's not even an elimination game, and I'm ridiculously stressed right now. I want some runs!
  20. I bought Tickets to NLDS Home Game 3. I figure the odds of the Brewers sweeping the first round of the playoffs, after clinching the division this weekend, are relatively good. I probably won't be going to an actual game... ...but if it goes to a deciding game, I want to be there. (It also helps this was the only game with a date certain, since we don't know if the Brewers are going to be hosting the series.)
  21. Can we get one of these for the Cardinals pinch runner? Playoffs!
