  1. Hader wouldn't have been pitching to Freeman in the 8th inning if Williams had a functional throwing hand.
  2. The only part of this that I disagree with is that in 2011, when the leaked e-mails with Bruce Allen came from (to my knowledge - haven't actually read any of the source documents), Gruden was working for ESPN on Monday Night Football. There is zero chance he would have been allowed to stay on the air....and that's just for the e-mail about DeMaurice Smith.
  3. If it's over-the-air, you could just get a Roku and download the network's streaming app. While you won't be able to skip the in-app commercials, you can watch just about anything from CBS, ABC, Fox & NBC the next day....for free. This is what I've been doing since my TiVo gave up the ghost a few months ago....though I will actually be moving to Direct TV Stream in the near future. Losing NFL Network, but it has everything else I would want, including Brewers games. With the NFL Thursday games moving to Fox & Amazon tonight, and moving full-time to Amazon starting in 2022, NFL Network isn't as essential as it used to be.
  4. That reminds me of Curt LetsPanic I see what bjkrautk did there. I agree. I hope the magic number is 00 tomorrow as well! Thank you for picking up what I put down.
  5. Did Willie stop before crossing the plate to make sure Kolton had touched home? That's what it looked like on the replay.
  6. Hopefully, there'll be No Need to Panic after tomorrow.
  7. https://www.rydercup.com/news-media/sunday-singles-pairings-announced-2020-ryder-cup Not surprisingly, Europe put their bigger names out early (Rory, Lowry, Rahm & Garcia). DeChambeau v. Garcia should be fun to watch in Match #4. Stricker followed suit by putting his perceived stoppers in the next set of matches: Morikawa in #5, D.J., Koepka, Finau & Thomas. That Finau / Poulter match is one you have to circle; if either team needs a momentum swing, that might be one to watch. Can't really argue with Spieth in Match 11; he hasn't play particularly well...but he also ran into Rahm & Garcia (twice). (I'll just end this by saying I'm really glad I stuck with watching the Ryder Cup & listening to the Badger game.)
  8. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/09/23/report-brett-hundley-took-majority-of-starter-reps-for-colts-on-wednesday/ With Carson Wentz hurt, Brett Hundley might start for the Colts. They would have to elevate him from the practice squad to do so.
  9. Thank goodness we put our 7th best starting pitcher out there tonight.
  10. Stop. Stop. Stop, or my Mom Will Shoot! Haven't seen the sketch in years, but I can hear Norm saying it like it was yesterday. RIP
  11. I think that, had the Brewers had a number of injuries to the outfield, Braun would have gotten the call. The only real lingering injury at this point is Taylor, and he's even eligible to return before the end of the regular season (I think). I'm glad that we don't really have a need for him going into the postseason.
  12. If your dividing line is Oshkosh to Stevens Point (Hwy 10) rather than Green Bay to Wausau (Hwy. 29), we may be hitting the "painting with too fine a brush" portion of the discussion. As someone who has spent more than half of his life in communities between Hwy. 10 and Hwy. 29, I tend to go with Hwy. 29 as the dividing point. If I had ever lived significantly further north than that, I may have a different boundary line.
  13. I like alt rock, and I think people should have to be paid way more than $6 in order to sit through a Twenty-One Pilots concert.
  14. Back to the 2021 team...Funchess to IR, which clears up the roster picture at WR considerably Adams Lazard MVS Cobb A. Rodgers M. Taylor ...with a possible 7th spot for ESB or Begelton, but I'm guessing Benkert is going to require a roster spot for the 3rd QB instead.
  15. Mostly... SPOILERS - The Vision has been re-built, but lacks the emotional attachment to his memories / relationship with the Scarlet Witch. (Something similar happened in the comics awhile ago.) - "Our" Loki (the one from the MCU) still died in Avengers: Infinity War. A variant of that same character escaped with the Tesseract / Cosmic Cube during Endgame, and is the Loki that is still running around in the MCU....which is now seemingly under the control of a different Kang variant, causing a whole lot of multi-verse issues for the next batch of films. - The comics version of the Black Knight (Kit Harrington's character in Eternals) doesn't have powers directly, but his sword allows him to be resurrected if he dies while holding it. No telling if any part of that makes it into the film. He's not actually one of the Eternals, though. So far as I can tell, he shows up because he and one of the Eternals (Sersi) had a thing in the 90's Avengers book....which I hope gets adapted differently than it was back then. - The What If series is showing us different variations allowable by the multiverse (like Into the Spider-Verse did for Spider-Man, but with much more limited licensing rights). After Loki, it's hard to say whether any of it is particularly important, or just Easter eggs all the way down. Still fun, though. - Falcon is Captain America now. - A potentially more fun version of Hawkeye is coming to Disney+ in November. - Though Marvel hasn't said so explicitly, they seem to be laying all the groundwork for a "Young Avengers" spin-off. Disney+ will give you access to everything (which is great for the nerds like me who grew up with the Marvel characters back when only DC Comics characters got movies). The films should bring you up to speed on as much or as little as you need to know.
  16. Ask and ye shall receive (spoiler alert: it's Hiura to the COVID-IL).
  17. They're only disappointing if you care about soccer. Personally, if it means not having to see Ms. Rapinoe in more Subway ads, I'm all for the U.S. not medaling in the sport. Conversely, I'm thrilled for Jade Carey winning gold. Due to the odd rules surrounding gymnastics this time around, she went out and won a spot as an individual gymnast in the games through international competition, knowing that doing so would cost her a spot in the Team competition. To turn around and win gold in an event final, after finishing 8th in her other event final...is just a great story. (Not going to lie: even knowing the result since this morning, I switched over from the Brewers game to watch.)
  18. Cash considerations, per the Brewers Twitter account. Time to dust off my old #59 jersey!
  19. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/mets-staying-course-pitching-search-232134394.html "In one of probably hundreds of similar phone calls that the Mets have made in recent days and weeks, one team official reached out to the Milwaukee Brewers recently to ask about trading for one of Brett Anderson or Eric Lauer, according to league sources. The Brewers were not interested in engaging in those talks, and they did not progress."
  20. So we know he can't do it tonight, but does TLR fire up the bean-ball war tomorrow, or does he wait until game 3?
  21. The real High Heat was the friends we made along the way.
  22. For what it's worth, Braun was in the radio booth with Ueck in the 5th....and Uecker was definitely baiting him to say he's coming back. Would not be surprised if he had a spot on the 40-man roster before the post-season eligibility deadline.
  23. So you're saying he'll be traded this winter? (kind of blue) ...that, or he's about to get some Big Beef & Cheddar.
