    Agreed. I'm really not very trusting of any defensive stat at this point. Unless they all agree, I find it hard to use them to make a judgement on a player.

    That's totally correct. They just weren't going to sign a guy when they weren't in position to win, and they clearly aren't at this point.

    Soccer truly is the beautiful game. I was one of those guys who didn't care for it for a long time, but I decided to make a legitimate attempt to get into it, and I am glad I did.

    I'd give Burrell a ST invite as long as he brings the machine/gimp costume to camp.

    I'm guessing Damon is going to wait until someone promises him a lot of playing time. He's got a very good chance at getting to 3000 hits in a couple seasons (he's at 2723 right now), and I'm sure he wants to chase that and solidify his Hall of Fame resume.

    Unfortunately one of my parents' dogs just got hit by a vehicle tonight and we lost him... He was about 11 years old. It's still pretty unbelievable. I hope all the best for Cleo.

    I used to have a local gas station that got in one copy of the Sunday New York Times just for me. Then they went out of business. I'm 27, by the way, but I grew up in a newspaper house where I would sit and wait on Sunday morning for my dad to get done with the sports section of the Journal (and later the Journal Sentinel), so I still enjoy a newspaper.

    I feel like I hurled the same amount of invective at Betancourt as I did with Suppan, McGehee, Kendall, Clark, Mench, Moeller, or any other white guy that sucked. I don't care if a guy is white, black, purple, or green... If you suck, you suck.

    The Yankees failed to come to terms with Nakajima. Maybe Dagumerubin can strike next year.

    You package Wolf with Gamel to someone and trade K-Rod getting a 4 or 5ish starter in one of those deals and that pretty much does it and really doesn't make any holes.That's for one year. That deal would cripple the franchise going forward.

    Now, if Theo could only find someone dumb enough to take Soriano off his hands, this would be a great offseason for them.

    I'm curious how many Packer Insider subscriptions they had sold prior to this change, since that could have been a kind of trial balloon for this. I'm guessing they sold quite a few of them, since I know four or five people personally, including myself. I felt like I got my money's worth out of it.

    I think it might be a case of the Cubs saying "Yes, we are going to suck, but at least we won't make you watch a guy you hate" to the fans.

    Kevin Barker OPS'd over 1.000 in Mexico in 2011. For some reason, this is awesome to me. And he played on the same team as Greg Aquino.

    Nah, I'm cool with no on-air McMahons (aside from Triple H once in a while). That blows the whole angle to me. If they did this whole big build-up in order to get more McMahon airtime, that sucks. Also, I think Johnny Ace is starting to get a little traction.

    The amount of praise and whatnot that Juan Pierre gets/got from color commentators and other journalists was a big part of the backlash. In turn, he got a ridiculous deal that was too high. He was really over-rated, and that's why there were Pierre "haters", such as myself. He was generally never completely terrible, but he should have been paid a lot less.

    I had already been paying for Packer Insider for Bob McGinn's stuff, so I guess I am in the clear on this one.

    He is a solid player but it's just odd to go with him, and his price tag, when they are shooting for 75 wins anyhow. It's certainly a better buy than Cody Ross, though, which has been rumored.
