  1. I would say he doesn't need to hurry. Much like with the big name pitchers waiting for CC to set the market, the hitters are waiting for Tex.
  2. I love that the Yanks got like a $400 million hand-out from taxpayers, then signed Sabathia right after. It's a joke.
  3. Please give me Adam Dunn, Doug. Please. I never ask you for anything.
  4. Matt Ford. He even started a game or two.
  5. I really don't consider Kennedy a top prospect, either. Just a young one that is ready to contribute at the MLB level immediately, which is what the Brewers are looking for. I can sort of get behind the deal if the Brewers have something in the works for a corner OF bat and want to clear the money for it, but I don't like it if the plan is just to plug in Cabrera for Cameron.
  6. ESPN Radio just reported the deal dead, according to my friend. Phew.
  7. I have to think that being close to home probably matters more than some/all of those other criteria, though.
  8. I am starting to get worried that the offense is really not going to be very good next year.
  9. I have always liked Padilla, and since it would cost little to acquire him aside from salary, I could get behind that.
  10. I would love to get Bedard, whom end brought up, and make a run at Penny if Sheets is absolutely gone (I think he is).
  11. Right... I think it was naive to think the Brewers had a chance in this.
  12. I really hope that the Brewers knew all along that they had no shot and that this stuff the past couple days has just been lip service.
  13. At least his Y is necessary.
  14. Phew. So much for needing a 3B. Hall + Lasik + Lamb = .900 OPS.
  15. Fuentes is a little rich for my blood... I would like to see more moves made to strengthen the offense, but I don't put too much stock in any rumors floating around out there.
  16. Yeah - #5 would be Ted Lilly... easily the best #5 in baseball. He would probably be the Brewers #2.
  17. Damn. I was going to drive to Madison from Wausau for the Badgers game tomorrow night. Not looking very promising at the moment.
  18. I love that one from the Yankees game.
  19. I am liking the return to the old bullpen construction methods. Like others said, it's almost always a crapshoot with relievers.
  20. He's fast, which is basically the only criteria that a lot of "inside the box" managers care about for a leadoff guy. Plus he is a veteran, which is supposedly another reason why he is in the spot. And Sveum wants to bunt and stuff, which I was afraid of. I think he is a total old school type of guy.
  21. Pedro, once again I agree with you. I to can't say for sure if all that stuff that Ned brought to the team makes them play bad, but it sure can;t make them play good and feel lose. Ahem... I think you are forgetting Corey Hart!
  22. Well, the fact that Hall plays at all is an indictment of Yost. Same for Kendall never getting a rest.
  23. About time. Actually, way past about time. Not that I am a Sveum fan really, but it beats the alternative when the alternative is Ned Yost.
  24. Honestly it would be great if he got fired by 10:00 tonight. I don't care who even replaces him.
