  1. I will guarantee with 100% certainty that Joe Morgan has zero idea who Matt LaPorta even is.
  2. They better not be done. They've got to get a lefthanded bat for the bench and a reliever. See my sig for the LH hitter.
  3. Yeah I'm okay with Bush staying and McClung to the pen. Seth did a nice job there before moving to the rotation. It would be cool if McClung turned into the 8th inning guy.
  4. Unreal. This "buyer" thing is sort of cool. I like it much better than the '07 version.
  5. I would definitely say I have to side with Haudricourt on that. He has been the go-to guy throughout and hasn't been peddling unsubstantiated stuff.
  6. For those of you who don't think CC is needed I present Exhibit 1: Suppan's start today.. Yeah, they kind of need to get CC, and then get a second starter, to replace whichever pitcher implodes next between Bush and McClung.
  7. I'm kind of bummed that LaPorta would be going. But, a 1-2 of CC and Sheets is just too good to pass up. This isn't Scott Linebrink. This is someone who can help the team. I'm in.
  8. This is just straight ridiculous.
  9. I am sort of watching with morbid curiosity. I do want the Bucks to be a watchable product, and I think Hammond may be very good, but unless they make some serious changes tomorrow and shortly after, they're going to be awful. Again.
  10. I think it's been a surprisingly good year. I know my expectations weren't all that high after what I thought was a pretty great '07... 1. Drive-By Truckers - "Brighter Than Creation's Dark" 2. Sun Kil Moon - "April" 3. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds- "Dig, Lazarus, Dig!" 4. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - "Lie Down In the Light" 5. The Mountain Goats - "Heretic Pride" 6. The Black Keys - "Attack & Release" 7. The Tallest Man On Earth - "Shallow Graves" 8. Spiritualized - "Songs in A & E" 9. Samamidon - "All Is Well" 10. Throw Me The Statue - "Moonbeams" There have also been quite a few other albums that I like quite a bit that I could see moving up tremendously when the weather turns colder (Portishead, especially).
  11. This is a fairy tale, man.
  12. Yeah, I would say when even your DGWD (designated gritty white dude) loses confidence in the direction of the organization, it's time for a change. And I'd be pretty mad if I was raking like Willie (.160/.288/.160 - look at that walk rate!) and not playing every day, too. I mean, is that team blind?!?!
  13. This entire season should have been a very challenging time for the Cards. LaRussa (with the obvious assist to Duncan) deserves manager of the year every year. I still think they will fall off a little bit, but I expected them to be a 90 loss team coming into the season. I wouldn't be shocked to see them finish over .500 now.
  14. I'm going to pour out a 40 for Willie Bloomquist's career tonight. Baby Buzz will be missed.
  15. If McClung keeps it up, Maddux is a step closer to regaining his genius status.
  16. If you also wear scrubs, then yes, feel free to rock some Crocs. If not, I would say "why not some flip-flops instead?".
  17. I'm as big of a fan of Branyan as there is, but this whole first few weeks since his call-up is just really surreal. It's a dream-like state.
  18. There are some concerts that have this already, where you can buy a recording of the show you just watched as you are hitting the exits.
  19. Branyan and Cameron probably got to be buddies by playing together in San Diego, because I have seen them hanging together quite a bit, too. Plus, Cameron is considered to be a great guy by pretty much everyone, I think.
  20. I agree that it's too soon to write off Cameron. He's a pretty good hitter, but he's one of those guys who looks really terrible when he slumps because it magnifies his K's. Gagne is a sunk cost. If he comes back and turns into a good 7th or 8th inning guy, though, I could care less that they paid him $10 million. That's over and done with now.
