  1. They're stupid. What was the reason for Fox deciding to pick up a Giants day game following a night game?
  2. I don't think anyone has a role of "6th inning guy", because there really shouldn't be a need for a reliever in the 6th inning. He was just the worst guy they had, so they put him in the 6th. It's not like he's been bad this year, though, so I'm not too upset if he pitches an entire inning.
  3. Parra's going to go back to AAA, I would assume. It's pretty impossible to say that Balfour is overmatched. He hasn't even thrown three innings yet, that's pretty ridiculous, as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Oh yeah, "Screwed". That movie was awful. It had Danny DeVito with weird facial hair, as well.
  5. Don't forget the classic "In the Army Now".
  6. In the big picture, probably not overly important. This is the first in what should be several seasons of either postseason berths or serious contention for one. But since they've gotten this far, I think it takes on an air of greater importance.
  7. Dirty Work rules. I miss funny Norm McDonald.
  8. Every good team loses once in a while to bad teams... the Cubs just lost a home game to the Giants three days ago.
  9. I think Villanueva is wearing down a little bit.
  10. If Rickie was a white dude, he'd be hailed as the new Eckstein or Erstad. That's how gritty that play was.
  11. Watching Suppan is more painful than watching Vargas, simply because you see a steady stream of dollar signs after every ERA and WHIP increasing pitch he throws.
  12. As far as I'm concerned, I hope he hits a solo shot in each game and the Giants end up with three runs the entire series. The cool thing is that that happening isn't very far-fetched.
  13. The way the Brewers and Cubs are both playing right now, it's irrelevent regarding the playoffs, because they'll both be there.
  14. He started there a couple nights ago, too. Seems to be the LF against LHP until Hall comes back.
  15. Estrada has a .299 OBP. I'm fine with two weeks without him.
  16. He won't intentionally walk him, but I'm sure Barry will walk about 5 times this series. Bayless should never be taken seriously, anyhow.
  17. I'm already about to see them for the second time this summer, otherwise I'd be all over it.
  18. I honestly didn't even know he was still around. He used to always have a run like that every year - his stuff was real good. He'll still bounce back to his usual 5.50 ERA self, though.
  19. I agree, igor. He's a really underrated player. There's not many teams that can say they have a back-up 2B as good as Graffy (though right now he's not the back-up). He's been hot for a while now, but now it's finally starting to show in his numbers as he digs out of that hole he was in.
  20. It would have probably one of the biggest heists in the history of general managers. They'd be trading what amounts to spare parts (the only contributor being Wise, but he's a 7th inning guy) for one of the premier power/patience guys in the league.
  21. I don't really think the Royals are going to move Greinke. There's still so much upside there. I think it's just wishful thinking by media types in Chicago and New York that one of those teams will get him.
  22. Oh... that guy. It's "Coe-ven", not "Cuh-vin". It'd be way cooler if you lived in the same apartment as Mike: http://www.americanmovie.com/mike/mikebar.jpg He's pretty much the man.
  23. Yeah, unfortunately I had to work so I wound up in row KK. Still main floor, but I would have been on immediately at noon had I been home.
  24. Barry's back and the Cubs are in trouble.
