  1. I never had any problem with them at all until they decided to suspend Opie & Anthony. That almost caused me to cancel. If they would have fired them (as they were rumored to really be doing) I would have smashed it and cancelled.
  2. I've watched him a lot this year. He looks kind of cooked to me. He might still be able to hit some, but pitchers really don't fear him anymore. He gets challenged a lot more than he used to, because he's lost bat speed. The Brewers could carry three catchers, though, it wouldn't be crazy to do so - not any crazier than 6 OF's or 13 pitchers. Piazza would me mostly a PH, I think, and they could use a RH bat off the bench with pop.
  3. I think you've got the wrong reds, brewers19.
  4. He's always annoyed me like "know it all guy" at the park does. I'm not sure how it became accepted that he is the voice of the fan, or something. Or why his book (where he outlines his plan to "fix" baseball) should be taken seriously, as if his opinion holds weight. I'm just not a fan of him at all. I think he's quite smug and arrogant, actually.
  5. They also will add on at the end of the year if a guy is close to the required amount, though it's with hitless AB's, so a player has to have a cushion to be able to absorb those outs being added to his average and maintain a lead.
  6. I've had a MyFi (which was the 1st generation of portables) for about two years. The FM transmitter in it is better than the later generations, but that's about the only advantage it has over the new ones (aside from the accessories that came with it - now you need to buy most of them seperately). I love it, it's a super durable piece of hardware. I have a friend who has an Inno and he loves it.
  7. I didn't know that golf needed to be saved It doesn't, but Boo is the man.

  9. Livan now is one of those guys that signs with a different rebuilding team every season and eats innings for them so they don't have to rush their young pitchers.
  10. To me, though, Dunn is a one-trick pony--he hits homers. okay, two tricks--he also walks. To me, those are two of the most important things (if not the most important things) a player can do in terms of pure "run production". Jenkins doesn't really do either of those things at a high level nowadays. Dunn has pretty much been 40 HR, 100 runs scored, 100 RBI, 100 BB for three years (last year he was 40, 99, 92, 112 but you get the point) and he will be right there again this year. And this is coming from someone who got on the soapbox all offseason saying to keep Jenkins. They don't need to trade him if they get Dunn, either.
  11. with the best defense in the NL though. Exactly. I'd say Suppan has pitched to expectations. People who expected him to have a 3.50 ERA or something apparently had never paid attention to the guy, and that the Brewers have a bad defense while the Cardinals defense was phenomenal.
  12. True that Harrington was the one that went into the burn, but Garcia gakked away a lead. They both had performances that would make Jean Van de Velde proud. I didn't pay as close of attention after my main man Boo Weekley shot 75 on Saturday and fell off, though. He is going to save golf.
  13. Holy Yankees - 18-3 over the Rays right now. They're ahead by so much they even brought in some of the chumps like Damon - and he even got a hit!
  14. I'm a big fan of Benoit. He's also capable of working multiple innings. I think he may be pretty highly coveted by the actual deadline, though.
  15. he'll get beamed next AB Scotty's going to send him back to the ship?
  16. There is nothing better than Braun cocking off an opponent.
  17. Unbelievable.
  18. I'm glad to see Weeks in the lineup, but the thing is - if he rakes before Hall comes back (if they face more LHP's, I haven't looked at the matchups for the Cincy series), would he be able to stop his benching before it ever really started? What was the point of Ned even going public with him benching him?
  19. I think Jackson is pretty much a lock to get moved before the deadline if they do anything. He's not a major prospect at all, and he's been passed by so many people on the depth chart that he's a spare part.
  20. I would definitely hit Dunn second. Hardy is killing them right now up there. He can't get on base to save his life. Check this out. Since May 9th (the day his hitting streak ended) Hardy has a .288 OBP: www.baseball-reference.co...92:247:sum That is a major issue and no one notices it, because he's kind of beloved. That said, I don't anticipate any big moves at all, either with the rotation or the lineup. The team as constructed is good enough to win the division, they're just slumping right now.
  21. Spurling is clearly overmatched.
  22. Beat Zito. What is what the Brewers need to do tomorrow, because they ain't gonna beat Lincecum?
