  1. Nobody throws complete games anymore. I believe Greinke just had the first one for the Brewers since April of last year. Gallardo threw a shutout last April. Wouldn't disagree that Gallardo needs to be more efficient to get to the next level. However, he has now gone at least 6 innings in 15/17 starts. He's gone at least 7 on 5 occasions and should add to that today.
  2. Can anyone at the game fill us in on what's going on? I hope someone didn't fall into the bullpen.
  3. Perhaps the only Italian who even had to think about it...impressive. They should have Italy and Spain play for a 100B Euros in financial assistance from Germany just to spice it up a little.
  4. I think Greinke is slated to start the Sunday before the game, so that may have played a role. He's certainly deserving and the trip to KC would have been a good story. 2 Cubs...what a joke. One last jab from the great Satan, TLR.
  5. Wolf has played up to his contract for every season until this one. At his age, he may have turned into a pumpkin so his option won't be picked up. Not sure why the bitterness towards the guy. He was a valuable piece last year and very good for a fourth starter.
  6. Service time could be an issue if they were still moving up and down next year which is a distinct possibility.
  7. Nyjer reached into the stands to catch a foul ball. The fan tried to catch it as well and it knocked the ball away from Nyjer. Nyjer gave the guy a little shove with his glove and said a few words. Relatively minor, but he was blatantly in the wrong. With his history, not good.
  8. C'mon Nyjer...you reach into stands and that ball is fair game. No reason to push the guy either.
  9. Be careful...you may turn into stone.
  10. I think it was more about the price than anything. Shouldn't these be in blue? Those shirts have to be some of the ugliest things I have ever seen a human wear...and I used to live in Venice Beach.
  11. I love seeing all these rankings by everyone. Nice rundown Polish. I fully admit my bias against Dodger Stadium is primarily due to the traffic and how difficult it is to get in/out of there. It's taken me 20 years out here, but I've even started to empathize a little with the tail lights in the parking lot during the Gibson homer. Over an hour to go 12 miles...c'mon! That and the crowd in the cheap seats can get a little rough. The palm trees in the distance and Vin Scully piped into the restrooms are pretty classic though.
  12. Props for finding some shirts that may actually be uglier than the Remetees.
  13. The Rays are becoming the AL version of the Cardinals for their ability to transform former Brewers waste product into useful pieces...at least we don't see it if it's in Tampa.
  14. Wolf has certainly been disappointing this year, but man our bullpen has really been a let down. They are finally getting starting pitching and plenty of runs, but this bullpen keeps letting them down. 7, 8, 9 really looked locked down coming into the season...not so much now. Veras has been particularly horrendous. Who would have thought Saito & Hawkins may have been the biggest voids from '11 to now...although no guarantee they'd help in their 2012 form.
  15. Outside of this year, is Uggla really better?
  16. I don't know why rotating a slew of marginal players would get you up in arms. Although I would agree if Ish starting taking starts away from Hart at 1B, but it seems they may do that a little more to keep Aoki fresh...he might be wearing out a little when playing daily.
  17. The only way to really know Livan's true age is either to cut off a leg and count the rings or if he sadly goes on the permanent DL due to natural causes. His ERA must be a point lower solely due to pitching against the Brewers.
  18. Probably not serious, but a little extra rest for a guy that imploded down the stretch probably isn't the worst thing. Just in case we get a surprise and they do make a run.
  19. I think that's asking a lot of Roenicke to send Greinke out for a 10th inning, when he hasn't thrown a complete game while with the Brewers. It's not just pitch count, it's warm ups and rest. Granted, he probably would have been fine and was indeed cruising, but can you imagine the backlash if ZG woke up with a tweaked shoulder today? I'm with RR on this one. Ax may be struggling, but their bed is made. They need to sink or swim with the guy. He's still their best option.
