  1. Nice work Stout. Me on the other hand, not so much! Oh well, back to the drawing board.
  2. I'm thinking of taking Iowa +7.5 tonight vs UW. I also really like POR -3.5 vs OKC tonight. Anyone have any thoughts, especially on Iowa. I think UW wins, but I think it will be somewhat close.
  3. Ya LouisEly, I was going to post about that the other day. Seems like those rumors might be true. Talk is after the incident that Hornibrook lost the team. Would also explain why that team underperformed. There was something that was off with them. Again, nothing confirmed with all this, but where there is smoke there is fire. Talk of Hornibrook getting punched by Edwards and giving him the first concussion. Maybe the reason being something to do with Edward's girlfriend and Hornibrook. Again, obviously these are rumors, but a lot of people believe something happened between them.
  4. Could very well be. If this is truly much ado about nothing, I will still find it odd that the historical jersey number wall doesn't use the current Brewers Times New Roman font. To me, that is the biggest hint of all of an upcoming change. I do think there could be a new uniform coming soon. I just don't know if there are "hints" everywhere as to what it will be. Maybe that will be the font on the jersey. I just hope they stay in the general universe of their retro ball and glove stuff and their current scheme. I don't think they need anything major, just some tweaking.
  5. Just signed up today and tuned in to the game. I’ve really enjoyed the service over the years.
  6. I too am in the camp that there is probably way too much detective work going in. I think the red is to fit the branding of spring training, nothing else. Also, does the M logo with the barley really have anything to do with Miller? The team’s name is the BREWERS. I think the logo is 100% because of the team’s name and not because of the stadium sponsor. I think ball and glove is here to stay, both the throw back and the version with current colors. I like when teams have their alternate hat that fits the color scheme and therefore allows them different uniform options (like Bal and Cle). As suggested by an earlier poster, I’d love to see the pin stripes in navy. Could be awesome! My biggest ask is for them to bring back the grey (late 80’s/ nearly 90’s I believe) road jerseys with Milwaukee across the chest. I love that uniform so much! I also would love to own that jersey and it’s so rediculous that you can’t get it.
  7. At first I thought this contract was nuts, but after some time to think about it, it's not that bad. Obviously he could be a shell of himself by the time it is over, but I bet PHI makes more than his contract back over the next few years. Hard to calculate that, but there will be a huge buzz for awhile because of him. Good investment from that standpoint. As for why he'd go 13 over 10 years. Seems simple. He's set for the rest of his career. He could have gambled but who would actually think he'd be worth much at age 36. If you aren't going short, like a 4 or 5 year, in hopes of getting another monster deal, mind as well sign something that goes for the rest of your career. Good move by him. I think they can still get trout. This contract is spread over a long period of time. SRB - I know that's your opinion, that PHI is a better place than SD, but man, I don't know who else has that opinion, except someone from PHI. If you're just talking about what each city has to offer, I bet 98 out of 100 would take SD. But hey, it's your opinion, so that's cool. Those crunching numbers on cost of living and taxes and all that, I think it's all irrelevant at this point. Dude is getting $330 mil, and who knows what else in endorsements. He could live on the moon and the cost of living wouldn't effect him much.
  8. It was using location services and then only giving me local stuff, not the WI sports. Maybe it was just being goofy that day when I tried it because this fall it worked.
  9. Anyone doing MLB.TV this year? I'm about to sign up again. I didn't need it last year as I was in WI, but I'm now out of state again and need to get the service. Was there anything new last year? Have you seen anything new for this year? Random question but I was able to sign in to my parent's fox sports go account and watch Brewer's games, the last few weeks of last year, when we moved.. It doesn't seem to be working now. Did they change something?
  10. Tell me more! What have you been doing? I've been very interested in that for a long time. On a similar note, I'm now convinced that the best way to prepare a steak is the reverse sear. Bake on a rack at 275 until it reaches the desired temp (I believe medium rare is 130). Then let it sit for 10 to 15 min while getting a pan warmed up pretty hot. Throw some butter in it and sear the steaks for about a minute on each side. You get a great taste and a steak that is the same doneness the whole way through. Glorious. So similar ideas as the Sous Vide. I want to do this same thing with my green egg this summer, indirect heat then take the plate out and sear it. Should be even better.
  11. I do think they are being overly cautious but I also worry that he's just not going to be anything close to what he was this year. I think we are lucky to get him performing above average at the end of the year. Such a tough road coming back from shoulder surgery. I fear we'll see the whole, take some time to rest, come back, get rocked a few games, sit down for more rest, and hopefully not ending in another surgery. I hope I'm wrong!
  12. I took the bucks -5.5 tonight. What the heck. Should be a good game but hoping they stay tough at home.
  13. Anyone have any success smoking a brisket at a higher temp than 225?
  14. Man the Tyme Machine is a classic. I used to get hammered by my friends from MN in college for that one. It took me a long time to shake that term.
  15. I have mixed thoughts on this. My respect for Miley grew a lot, after what he did down the stretch. That said, I didn't think he was anyone we should be trying to force on the roster. Also, didn't he outperform his norm last year? As others said, there is also injury concern. He just seems like a candidate for regression next year. All that said, I will miss him a little. He cracked me up. Just seemed like he was straight out of a Busch Light commercial. Thank you for your service Wade.
  16. Well that cold last night and this morning was a different level of cold. I used to think that once you're in the negative numbers, it's all the same. But the feels like was -51 last night and the wind was crazy, up here in Minneapolis. Never felt anything like it. Super fun having to take your dogs out in this!
  17. I see this as white noise at this stage in his career. Strikes me as another one of those offseason stories that gets fans all excited. "Pitcher X is working on a changeup, which could be a huge plus for him." Maybe it helps him a bit, but he's on the declining part of his career. There aren't any fountains of youth..... since banning steroids.
  18. I think Stearns will wait this out. If he can end up getting a 2b on a cheaper one year deal, he'll do it. If he can't, he lets the platoon start the year and brings up Hiura later. I don't think there is much pressure to do anything here when we have a top prospect, who should be ready for the majors this year.
  19. Initial thought was nooooo, this is horrible. Now after sitting on it, I don't care too much. I'll still call it Miller Park. I think many others will too. Like another poster mentioned, I bet Miller Coors probably called their bluff a little bit. Thinking the name meant more to the Brewers and the City, so they would have to out bid AMFAM. If they just pay to have the rights to sell their beer there, and not for their name on the stadium, how much will they really lose out on?
  20. Until he goes to the University of Minnesota....
  21. Thought I'd bump this for some Super Bowl Betting chat. My wife and I always like to do some Super Bowl props. We've had a lot of luck on the national anthem and coin toss over the years. I see the line is Pats -3 and over under at 58. We'll have to revisit, closer to the game.
  22. What a day of NFL football. That was fun!
  23. Yes, add me to the list of people that are pumped for Ghostbusters 3! Can't wait.
  24. If your TV doesn't have bluetooth you can buy an adaptor that plugs in to it. That could be the way to get around the issue. I looked to do this for one of our older tvs but never pulled the trigger.
  25. Yes, 38 career games at 1B. I'm sure that came into play. Kratz is injury insurance and a potential Nottingham mentor at San Antonio. Perfect! Not that they'd use him there much, I'm guessing, but it's always nice to have that flexibility. Also works out perfectly to have Grandal get us to the playoffs, and then bench him for Kratz, who can dominate the post season again.
