  1. Yes, I think not knowing who the qb is, makes the opposing team do that much more homework. They will have to discuss and plan out two potential game plans. I've always thought, even if you make the other team waste an hour or two on discussing or planning for something, that's a few hours less time they have to work on other things. Kizer can't make the same throws that Rodgers can, therefor the Packers will have a completely different offensive game plan.
  2. Sounds like a nightmare!
  3. I looked at my home screen this morning and it was 9:11 am on 9/11. Hit me pretty hard. What a tragic day.
  4. What a time to be a Brewer fan. So many fun, intense baseball games. So much love.
  5. That picture is WILD! I bet that was really good!
  6. I'd warn against eating chicken. If you haven't heard, Coach Harbaugh is advising his players not to eat chicken because it's not good for humans. "Chicken is a nervous bird," he said. It's causing some sort of sickness in the human population, according to him. You can thank me later for warning you all. Better to eat Crow on Miley. As for what he looks like, I think he looks like he should be sitting next to a mountain stream, with a deer hide jacket on, opening a can of Busch Light.
  7. I think Cesser is just having s little fun. He’s making fun of himself too, so I don’t think it’s anything to be upset about. Obviously everyone has their own opinion and that’s what’s fun about this site. It’s also fun to get a little ribbing here and there. If you make a bold statement and you end up wrong, it’s ok to have to eat some crow here and there. All that said, he still has several starts left and really need him to keep pitching well. I’m pessimistic, but watching him last night was great. Hope he can do that again.
  8. What a game, what a win! That was a lot of fun to watch last night. Not sure if this was talked about, but how about Lo Cain smacking his mit with fist right before robbing that HR! Can of corn! That was so cool.
  9. Having to call AT&T for the fourth time now because we were supposed to be credited for a buy one get one phone starting last Feb. Still haven't received the credit for any bills that have come after the calls, and still haven't received the credit for the months we've had to pay previous. About to lose my mind!!!!!!!
  10. Haven't listened to it yet but looking forward to it. Great podcast!
  11. Wow, this had to hit him like a ton of bricks last night. Bad outing and then you come in the locker room to a storm of reporters, asking you about things you wrote on twitter, which you probably don't specifically remember. Talk about getting thrown to the wolves. But he probably deserves that. I'm not going to defend him at all, because if you put something out there, you have to be prepared to answer to it someday. The problem is, when you're a kid, you don't get it. It was also at a time, if I had to guess, where twitter wasn't as prevalent. If I had to bet, it was mostly just some friends following him. I bet there weren't any parents following him. So it was conversation between friends in his mind. Kids just regurgitate stuff they hear, from songs, movies, friends etc, and post it online, trying to be cool or funny. Seems like a lot of slurs that get dug up are lyrics from rap songs. It's hard to say if deep down he's hateful of certain groups, or if he was just tweeting dumb stuff for a reaction. It doesn't make it ok, but it does give me hope that people can change. Maybe all that he needs to change is realizing what is ok to say and what is not. Or maybe it's deeper, and he needs to change some hateful feelings, which could be much harder to do. Overall, I lost some respect for him. In my mind he was a quite kid that was becoming a star and was very humble. Now I look at him a little different. Depending on how he handles this mess that can change. I'm trying to wait and see before developing any strong feelings either way. I hope he comes out and is honest and open and then tries to better himself. If he does that, it would go along way. I'd hate to see the canned speech and the brewers making him do sensitivity training. Sit down with your teammates and hammer this out. Sit down with people in the community and talk about it. I don't think he should be suspended by MLB. I think the Brewers could potentially do something that he agrees with, but seems like he shouldn't be given an official punishment for something he did in high school, and wasn't a crime. I could be wrong on that, but seems beyond the reach of the team and league.
  12. Rickh 150 - did you jinx us?!!! When I saw we lost yesterday, I immediately thought of this post. When I originally read your post I thought, "that will never happen." Welp, guess I was wrong.
  13. Well done... Yes that made me laugh too! Ha.
  14. In college we once had brown liquid dripping on the countertop in the kitchen. Turns out it was coming from a cabinet. The source.......a large bag of potatoes that had completely rotted and became partially liquified. Smell was horrible once we moved it. I'd check the ceiling for potatoes
  15. This was such a great video. It got a lot of love in Twitter, which was cool.
  16. Let's get this one today. Good start for Suter there. Hope he can grind one out.
  17. Cool thanks. Ya, saw it on last night during the delay but I was busy, so didn't get a chance to actually check it out. It's on my DVR I think, or recording soon, so I'll watch it soon. I've always been intrigued by this league and would like to check out a game or two someday.
  18. Is this a series or a one time documentary? I tried to record it as a series, and it wouldn't let me. I also had a hard time finding when it's actually on. Anyone have any details on it? Any good?
  19. A majority of FA aren't trying to beat the street every day like traders. They are offering a service. Trying to help their clients understand and invest wisely and properly plan for the future. A lot of people don't have the time or the ability to understand how to invest properly, so that's why the service is needed. I don't think too many advisors are saying they will make you rich, but that they will come up with plan to help meet your goals. I think if you can find a good and fair financial advisor, that goes above and beyond, and truly understands what they are doing, you hold on to them and pay for their service. Unfortunately the best ones typically only deal with big money. The other unfortunate part is there are a lot of FAs that aren't worth paying. Like a good accountant and mechanic, they can be great to have.
  20. Just because a fund is front loaded (pay to get in), does not mean it's bad advice. So don't think the person is a bad advisor. Advisors have to get paid for what they do. They get it one way or another, and they should. The problem is when they lead someone to an investment that doesn't make any sense, just for a higher commission. I was in the FA industry for a few years out of college, so I know just enough about the industry to get an idea what an advisor is going for. You could always ask that advisor if there is a possibility to buy the same funds in a managed account, where you just pay an annual fee (maybe around 1%) and not have to pay a front load fee. This is an ideal type of an account for someone who would be pretty active with your investments, because you wouldn't get charged for buying and selling. A front loaded fund makes more sense if you were to invest, and probably just let it sit for years (not be too active in trading). Remember, inside a mutual fund, the fund managers are buying and selling stocks to meet the objective of the fund, so you don't really need to buy and sell funds themselves, too often. Typically only if they underperform their peers for a couple years in a row and if their rating goes down.
  21. You didn't do anything wrong (at least to my knowledge) in posting this. I do think JosephC was just saying, that's a big chunk of money, and she probably is better off talking with someone. My advice however, is there are a lot of sharks that will want that money to invest, and may not offer great advice. So I think it's always good to meet with multiple people, or have someone you trust, take a look at what is recommended, to make sure it's legit. I think the average investor can do a decent job, just by doing proper generic allocations, looking at fund ratings and expenses. Because this will be in a taxable account (I assume), I think this is where an advisor could really help. Help manage the investments with regards to taxes. Again, this is where you have to be careful, because some insurance or investment people may try to get you to invest in something long term like an annuity or life insurance, and it may not be the best move. Always ask an advisor why they are advising an investment and what their take is. I think people on here generally try to help and look out for each other on here. So what is her long term plan for this money? What if something happens and she needs it sooner than 10 years or more? Would she use part of it for a big purchase, ie. downpayment on a house? All things you have to think about. A lot of times we have great intentions, but you'd hate to have a situation where you invest it all in mutual funds, the market tanks and it's only worth half, and you are forced to take it out and lock in a big loss. edit: I just went back and skimmed earlier posts that I hadn't read. You also want to make sure you are diversifying by cap size and growth vs value stocks. So within domestic and international ratio, you want to make sure you are touching on all those areas. Usually in a fund analysis, it will have a dot in a tic tac toe looking grid, on where the fund lands. Large, mid, or small cap and also a growth or value fund. Ideally you have a foot in each area. Large cap funds tend to be the safest equity investments, so most people have a much higher percentage there. You can do more research on this to see what is appropriate for your goals (risk/reward).
  22. Not going to lie, this one hit me hard. I've been such a big fan of his show from the beginning. I even got his first season on iTunes and his second one on DVD, I was so in to his stuff. I keep wondering why. But depression is a serious thing that can push people over the edge when they get in a dark place. I feel bad for him and his family. I hope he is at peace.
  23. Man, so sorry for your loss. Really really tough. Went through it two years ago with my first ever dog. It gets easier as time goes by. More smiling and laughing when you think about your dog, instead of being sad, but you'll always miss them. Dogs are the best! I feel for you. Hang in there.
  24. ^This. I've been cautiously optimistic about his return this year. At times I've gotten excited and let myself think he'll come back and be a stud, like he was prior to the injury. But really, I'm very worried about him ever getting back to the form he was in last year. Shoulder injuries are no joke.
