  1. Can anyone explain to me why in the 70's and 80's every team and their mother adopted powder blue as one of their colors? I love it! Twins, Phils, Royals, Brewers, Cards....... Powder blue must have been the old gray. I really do like the Brewers powder blue but just every once and awhile. Same with their pinstripes. I really do like the new alt jersey but agree, it would look great in gray. I also wonder what the ball and glove logo would look like in current colors. That would be awesome to have an alternate hat but I'm having trouble picturing what it would look like. If anyone is a wiz with photo shop you should do one up!
  2. Seriously? I hate the HR derby slump correlation. I'm sure I could find a few guys that slumped after the all star break that ate sushi. Should we be worried about that? Dumb!
  3. He's not jumping motorcycles over the grand canyon, he's in a home run derby. Come on now.
  4. This is a surprise. Well Corey better lock it up this year! I feel like he's a head case at times and I hope getting bashed in the arby hearing won't effect his fragile confidence going forward. I want the old Corey back!
  5. TooLiveBrew, love the Seinfeld reference!!!! Tremendous.
  6. Yeah, see above. I feel like it will look like Mr. Burns from the simpsons!
  7. You have to admit that Baseball is in one of its better times right now. Sure there is a big issue with the steroid era but that's not all on him, that's more on the player's assoc. I agree when I heard the news, a statue seemed weird but looking back, some day, I think he will be well respected. But there are plenty of haters out there. http://img.dealclick.co.uk/760954.jpg http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. Good work to all! Makes you proud to be a Brewer fan!
  9. I'd love to see him here too but wonder if trading him for a few prospects and having more money would be better? I love him but not sure what's best. Any chance he'd take a 4 year deal for big money so he could get another big payday at 31?
  10. Wow. Terrible. I'm trying not to be a homer but thos look awful. And can I second that, what's up with the Reds? Do you guys think they will bust out this year?
  11. I vote Parra and Gomez. If those two have big years, look out. Weeks I'm on the other side. I think he's going to hit a lot of pop ups this year and have issues with wrist strength. Didn't he struggle the first year back when he hurt the other wrist? I'm pulling for him the most but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  12. Those bars make $300 in about 20 min before a game. It's not a big deal at all! Let's not get crazy about this. I thought they'd be charging them 3k. This should not even be a debate.
  13. I felt bad when people started jumping all over him 2 years ago when he started peeing down his leg but if he doesn't produce this year I'm done with him. I think he's got serious mental problems when it comes to hitting. He needs to get it together this year. I'd love to have the old Corey "Teen Wolf" Hart back.
  14. I think we need to put pressure on teams with our speed. Bunting, stealing, taking extra bases. Take a few more risks and it will cause teams to screw up as well. I don't think we can sit back and slug like we used to.
  15. Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooo! Not Mench! hahaha. I think we wait and see what's up with Prince. I think Gamel ends up at 1b. If Prince does resign, put Gamel in RF.
  16. Cameron was a good defensive player but didn't make too many plays that made your jaw drop. Gomez will. Plus the range he has out there will make you think he's just making routine plays, when infact they are very tough plays. I think this is really good for us because I'd say Braun and Hart have average range.
  17. Crossing my fingers for Rickie. I'm not expecting much and not expecting him to make it through the season. Hope he does though, it would be a huge bonus for us. Do you think if we gave him more days off it help? What wrist did he hurt this year? I see Gamel at 1st as well!
  18. BrewCrew5 - Love it! The dude abides....man. I don't see much changing in the offense except CF and maybe 3rd. I'm nervouse about weeks but hopefully he comes through. Rotation is def better and the pen should be just as solid. Hope it makes fora good year!
  19. Ya I've also heard that people think he could end up hitting 20 hrs. One twins fan I was talking to about Gomez predicted 15 hrs this year if he plays a good amount. I'll take that. Again, the guy should get a chance with us to show what he's got. Let's not get all over him until he gets that opportunity. He's going to frustrate at times but remember he's young and still learning.
  20. I don't think Sheets is an option for us. We can't make a high risk move here or we end up with Soup back in the rotation for half the year. I think getting a solid vet in Davis is a great move. Now if we want to try somone one like Mulder and put him in the minors we have the guys to start the season. If he comes a long we can make moves. Of course I don't know if we will bring in anymore guys but I finally feel at ease that we have a solid rotation. It's not going to blow people away but if our offense continues to produce we should be able to grow on last year.
  21. I'm hoping he works out. I've talked to many twins fans about him and they all say they like him but he can frustrate them at times. I guess he's had some moments were he didn't listen to coaches (when it came to some of his at bats) and that fired up Gardy. They love his defense and passion for the game. It will be interesting to see if he will buy in and be a good teamate in Milwaukee. I hope he does and takes a step forward. Sometimes a change of scenary is all a guy needs.
  22. This is great news! I agree, if he could come in as an avg 5th it would be a huge bonus. If he starts in AAA and fills in down the road, it would be huge. It would be great to see him effective in the bigs again!
  23. Boy he was amazing in his prime. My favorite memory was him vs Kruk in the Mid Summer Classic. Tremendous! My friends and I would always talk about what it would be like to stand in there on the left side vs his slider and fastball. I think I would have soiled myself.
  24. I think we improved overall but it will be interesting to see who steps up for us this year. Getting Weeks back (and hopefully healthy and playing well) is huge. If Parra and Yo take steps forward it will be big for us as well. I'm nervous about Casey following up last year and Gomez will be up and down. Add an arm or two and we should have a shot to add wins to last years total.
