  1. Probably an unpopular opinion but I would like to see Contreras get a game or two off also.
  2. Both were due a day off. I am hoping Wiemer starts to platoon more in CF. Unfortunately his perfect platoon partner is currently injured in Mitchell. I think next year we will see Wiemer and Mitchell platooning a bit more in CF.
  3. I think some are thinking to far ahead and over complicating a situation. If you are tied going into the 9th inning at home you will want your closer to be in the game. You want to keep the score tied. To me this is a save situation and you want your best reliever in the game at that time. If the other team scores then the 10th inning isn't guaranteed. You want to keep the chances the other team can score to be as low as possible. That means bringing in your best reliever for that moment. If it is the bottom half of the order sure save your best reliever if you need them in the next inning but not if you are facing the top or the middle of the batting order. Even with the ghost runner at 2nd to start the 10th inning I would rather put myself in a position to win in the 9th than relying on maybe getting to the 10th inning.
  4. But they are trying!
  5. At home in the 9th inning of a tie game you should definitely use your best reliever. Your offense just needs to score one run (please note this is a general statement and not about the Brewers current offense) so keeping the game tied in the top half of the 9th is your ultimate goal with your offense scoring in the bottom half. The 10th inning really shouldn't be coming into play until it actually happens. To me Devin is more of a one inning pitcher so you can't stretch him out over multiple innings. Hader could go multiple innings but by the time last year rolled around it was too close to FA where he wasn't going to risk the big payday if he got hurt or if his numbers started to drop. On the road this is another story you would probably want to keep your closer for the bottom of the 10th. The only time I would use my closer would be if the top or the middle of the order is coming to bat in the bottom of the 9th. You would want to use your best reliever in that spot versus holding them back.
  6. There was a strong offer for Candelario the rumored deal for Jimenez wasn't for Jimenez it was for Candelario. The Brewers offered Adams and Lara for Candelario but the Nationals preferred the Cubs prospects over the Brewers. Just what I have heard from the people I know who have given out information like this in the past. I trust them but take this with a grain of salt.
  7. Not to mention the execs would have to go to a higher role. For example Arnold would have to be hired as the POBO if the Brewers extend Arnold as the GM. So there won't be all that much poaching as some think. There maybe some guys who get poached but it won't be a lot and probably none of the key guys in Milwaukee already.
  8. Must have edited it before I quoted you.
  9. Apparently Perkins should have started the game…..
  10. So your car is a full sized pickup truck?
  11. That is an out never touched the bag.
  12. Monasterio with some ugly PA’s this game.
  13. Tires are one thing you are going to be buying more with an EV as they weight more than equivalent combustion engine cars.
  14. Wiemer probably shouldn’t see RHP for the rest of the year. He is looking more and more like a platoon hitter only.
  15. I just can’t get into soccer it is boring and nothing happens. Lacrosse is a far superior sport and is easier to watch with more action and strategy.
  16. As expected ASU, Arizona and Utah have joined the Big12.
  17. I guess I am celebrating alone again......
  18. Just going to leave this here...... Not really a big signing.
  19. If Oregon and Washington leave the Pac12 will be officially dead with Colorado leaving for the Big 12 and it looks like ASU and Arizona are going to follow with Utah probably following with them. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/oregon-washington-to-big-ten-has-become-coin-toss-as-pac-12-makes-last-attempt-to-salvage-league/
  20. I, for One, Welcome Our AI Overlords.
  21. Liking the aggressiveness today swinging at 1st pitch strikes.
  22. Hiura played enough games in September in 2022. He played 9 games at 1B, 7 games at DH, 1 game in LF and 1 at 2B. Hiura put up a .167/.227/.283 for a 41 wRC+ in September compared to McCutchen who put up a .202/.330/.357 for a 97 wRC+ in September. Hiura got enough chances in September and he failed at doing anything positive with them and not it wasn't because he was being jerked around he just sucked. You may want to look things up because that is just a complete dumb statement to make.
  23. I think it will be a quiet off season for the Brewers. I don't expect Burnes or Woodruff to be traded maybe on Adames. Obviously the Brewers won't be in on Ohtani and there really isn't a bat other than Ohtani that would be worth a long term contract either. Pitching wise the only good options are Ohtani, Stroman and Urias after that it is a bunch of meh. It should be a good off season to trade pieces but I just don't see the Brewers doing this and I believe they will just keep Burnes and Woodruff. I think they trade Lauer and Houser for lottery tickets but I think that is all the Brewers will do this off season.
  24. People spelling Wiemer incorrectly......
