    Would have to remove all the compensation for FA and now rookies for that to happen. I don't see the players association allowing that to happen without that happening.

    Probably an under slot deal with Wilken. Hopefully Soto is available at 33.

    Teams have moved away from the DH only players because of this. The value is just not there unless you have a HOF type player playing there.

    Yes if a player is going to be a DH only they need to be close to a HOF hitter to be valuable. A quick edit for a DH to be valuable they need to put up a 150+ wRC+. Hiura in MLB probably doesn't even come close to 100.

    These are all of the players that are better than Hiura in the International League: What Hiura is doing in AAA is nothing and means absolutely nothing. If he were in the teens with his K% I would start to think he has turned things around but he is not doing that. At best Hiura is probably the same as Perkins and Topa but both Perkins and Topa have an advantage over Hiura they can actually field a position Hiura can not. When you have a bench player and that is what Hiura is having that bench player only being a DH is going to hold that player back. Hiura would have to be at the level of a Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz or Prince Fielder to be valuable. He is not anywhere close to that even replacing Winker with Hiura doesn't really move the needle all that much. If anything it probably makes the team worse.

    There just hasn't been a Prince like bat available in the draft at 1B. Torkelson would be the closest and he has sucked for the Tigers.

    You could make a case for Rodriguez (SP) I think that is who you mean. Lara is good just not untouchable good and Uribe is a reliever. While I like all of them but I wouldn't consider them untouchable and definitely not trading them for rentals. I expect one of the three (Adames, Burnes or Woodruff) to be traded this off season but I could also see the Brewers just rolling the dice with all three for another year and then offering them QO's at the end of the year. If all three sign contracts that means the Brewers would have 4 picks in the comp A portion of the draft. The Brewers will have a comp B in next years draft and then will move back to comp A in the '25 draft. It would be a risky strategy if two or all three have bad years or get injured. I think if the Brewers trade for anyone this deadline it will be rentals. Though I think Lane Thomas has a few years of control and I think that would be someone the Brewers would target in a trade. Duvall is someone I think the Brewers would target as he is hitting lefties really well this year with a 123 wRC+. Duvall also wouldn't cost that much probably someone like Perez (OF) or Zamora (SS).

    The A’s really liked Ruiz. That is the explanation for the A’s side of this trade. Which makes it even more confusing as Ruiz was actually used to get Murphy for the Braves. Yeager and Payamps was the return for Ruiz. Which makes some sense. Now how that means the Brewers get Contreras out of this deal no idea. The only big salary was Pina but that wasn’t all that big. So the Brewers got Contreras for nothing in this deal essentially.

    As soon as I saw who the batter was coming up with the bases loaded I knew the Reds weren't going to score. Senzel sucks against RHP.

    Senzel still can't hit RHP. So far this year he has 48 wRC+ against RHP.

    Nope. Best option would be Luis Robert Jr. (CF) but I don't think the White Sox will sell. It would take Frelick and a lot more to get Robert.

    Or in 2016 taking platoon hitter Nick Senzel with the #2 pick and his career fWAR of -0.2. Would have been better taking Ray at #2 in 2016 with his career 0 fWAR or maybe they should have picked Corbin Burnes at #2.

    Bad jumps and reads would be my guess. Speed can only help you so much especially when a ball is going 90MPH+.

    Will he be able to start in '24? I doubt Allen comes back for his senior year. It would be silly for Allen to comeback for his senior year unless he gets injured this year the way the NFL has started to pay RB's it is better to get in early so you can get that big payday earlier.

    Not to mention Chourio didn't have all that much time in A+. There was debate on where the Brewers were going to place Chourio this year and I think most had him starting in A+ and not in AA. The assignment of Chourio was very aggressive by the Brewers. MLB is also experimenting with baseballs in AA this year I believe which maybe causing some issues here. I think Chourio, Quero, Black and Misiorowski are probably the only untouchables in the Brewers minor league system. I think the Brewers are willing to part with Frelick if it means an impact player is coming back to them with 3-4 years of control. Something similar to a Yelich type of a trade.
