  1. Brewers get: Soto Padres get: Frelick, Brown (SS), Small and Valerio (2B). Probably a little light there but I think it is close may need to add another piece better than Small.
  2. Sure and Keston Hiura would be the top prize for an Ohtani trade.
  3. Was it me or did Sophia say an f-you delivery when describing Milner's delivery?
  4. They are not contradictory. Top prospects normally only stay at AAA for a very short time. Majority of the top prospects are in AA and not AAA. The AAA teams are filled with AAAA players. The time top prospects are in AAA is usually two months at most. Majority of the time they are there only until they pass super 2 status. AAA is just not where top prospects stay for very long. If they play a full season at AAA it usually means they are not as good as the talent evaluators thought or they are injured. AAA is normally the shortest assignment for top prospects in the minor leagues.
  5. First AAA tends to be lower talent wise than AA there are far more career minor league and AAAA type players in AAA than there are in AA. If Black had a problem with being patient at the plate sure send him to AAA to work on that as he is going to face junk ball pitchers like Rea 90% of the time. AA is far better for Black than AAA is. AAA is just a spot you put your prospects when you want to call them up. It is basically just a holding spot when you are ready to move them to your big league roster. I would rather see Black get time at AA facing pitchers closer to what he will see in the majors than having him feast on AAA pitching.
  6. This channel makes me laugh: https://www.youtube.com/@habitual_linecrosser
  7. Jimenez left today's game with a groin injury.
  8. Going to have to swing at pitches in the zone today so working the count is not a viable strategy for todays game with this umpire.
  9. First time on the internet?
  10. I was thinking about Jimenez but I am not sure the White Sox will make him available. They probably should as they have other options at DH also in Vaughn, Sheets and Bennintendi. Talking about bad contracts I am glad the Brewers didn't sign Bennintendi like some wanted to. Preferred option from the White Sox would be Robert but he is definitely not available. If the Brewers could get Jimenez that would be a good #4 hitter and it would allow to drop Tellez to the 5th or 6th spot in the lineup. I think a lineup of Yelich, Contreras, Adames, Jimenez, Tellez would be a good 1-5 for the Brewers. From 6-9 it would then allow you to have Turang and Wiemer at the bottom of the order which really wouldn't matter as much as they are your 8 and 9 hitters what they do at the bottom of the order doesn't really matter as much. It would mean that Yelich would be playing more games in LF and Contreras would get less games at DH. I don't think you would want to have Jimenez in the field at all or at least try and limit him to only one or two games a week in the field. This is another team where you could see Urias going to also. Something like Urias, Lutz and Junk for Jimenez. I know Jimenez basically has negative value but I think that gets negated by the lack of good bats available in the trade market.
  11. Here is your answer.
  12. I think Urias will be traded and I think the Nationals will be a team interested in Urias. They can take the risk if Urias is good next year great then they can trade him. Someone will have to play 2B/SS/3B for the Nationals in '24 and even with his arbitration raise he will still be cheaper than a FA. I think something like Urias, Small and Carlos Rodriguez (OF) would be very close to what the Nationals will get back in return for Candelario.
  13. I think it is going to be the Rockies. Think about it they will give up their whole farm for Ohtani and then he just leaves in the off season and they give Winker a 8-year $140m deal in the off season and trade for Lauer with their remaining prospects and sign him to a 7-year $120m deal. They also give the Angels $20m a year for the next 5-years because of reasons.
  14. I think in the end Wiemer and Mitchell become platoon mates with Wiemer getting some games against RHP.
  15. Supposedly the Yankees are the front runners right now if you believe Buster Olney. Even with Olney it is probably Yankees, Dodgers, Orioles, Rays, Dbacks or Giants. I don't see the Brewers even checking in on the Ohtani sweepstakes as they already know they are not going to give up any of their top 5 and I don't think Frelick would be of interest to the Angels. The Brewers just don't have the pieces if you are not willing to give up two of Chourio, Frelick and Misiorowski plus three of Black, Gasser, Carlos F. Rodriguez, Lara, Mendez, Guilarte, Quero or Valerio. It is going to cost a lot and more than what Ohtani is worth. If the Brewers don't win the WS after losing those players then it wasn't worth it at all. Would be better to improve with smaller trades than trading for Ohtani.
  16. Why would they beat that? If they are going to overpay for someone like Candelario you let them. I don't believe many teams are going to be offering different than what has been proposed. They are going to be the same type of prospects. I am not sure what you think a return for Candelario should be but these are the type of prospects that the Nationals are going to get in return for him.
  17. Dilin Jones has committed to the Badgers (4-star RB) for 2024. The recruiting class for 2024 is looking really good for the Badgers.
  18. Would be Carlos Rodriguez I believe but it is hard to tell on that site sometimes.
  19. I think this is a closer trade for Candelario but it will depend on who the Nationals like. I don't think teams will be willing to go for anything above $6m in value for Candelario. Maybe there is a GM out there who is desperate but I don't think Candelario would be that player. At most you are looking at $8m in value but I think anything over $6m in value is an extreme overpay for Candelario. I think Barlow is the relief pitcher the Brewers go after but I am not sure who they would trade for him. I think Urias may also be traded during the deadline this year and that team is probably the Rockies as they do dumb things all the time plus they kind of owe the NL Central for giving away Arenado for nothing to the Cardinals.
  20. Except that is not what they are saying. They believe the Brewers have that as a spendable asset like the Brewers have $1.6 billion in cash they can spend. I would prefer crowdfunding over the government giving any sports team money for a stadium. Crowdfunding has been around for awhile it is how the base was paid for for the Statue of Liberty. Currently just about everything from comic books, video games, music, movies, books and even businesses have been funded through crowdfunding. One video game has raised over $500m in crowdfunding over about 8-years now. So it is possible for a team to do a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the project.
  21. With the last two signings the Bucks are at or above the second apron. Note that the second apron takes in the bonuses even if the bonuses are not earned or will not be earned. The NBA has the second apron as what could be the team’s maximum salary so it takes in the bonuses as if they are paid out. This then gets us to the teams max salary which the second apron is counted as. So no manipulating that second apron by teams with unattainable bonuses. Those bonuses count no matter what. The Bucks are currently $5m over the second apron. https://theathletic.com/4690881/2023/07/14/bucks-cap-situation-explained/
  22. Sigh I see people still don't understand what equity is.
