Supposedly the Yankees are the front runners right now if you believe Buster Olney. Even with Olney it is probably Yankees, Dodgers, Orioles, Rays, Dbacks or Giants. I don't see the Brewers even checking in on the Ohtani sweepstakes as they already know they are not going to give up any of their top 5 and I don't think Frelick would be of interest to the Angels.
The Brewers just don't have the pieces if you are not willing to give up two of Chourio, Frelick and Misiorowski plus three of Black, Gasser, Carlos F. Rodriguez, Lara, Mendez, Guilarte, Quero or Valerio. It is going to cost a lot and more than what Ohtani is worth. If the Brewers don't win the WS after losing those players then it wasn't worth it at all.
Would be better to improve with smaller trades than trading for Ohtani.
