    Because he is a DH and they have a cheaper version with Burger who they are trying to fit into the lineup everyday. The problem with the White Sox is that they have a bunch of DH/1B playing the field in Burger, Jimenez, Vaughn and Sheets. At some point you have to get better defensively otherwise all that offense is wasted. They have Burger for two more years under pre arbitration and he doesn't hit arbitration until 2026. If the White Sox can get some pitching and a better defender back in return for Jimenez for '24 it makes sense to trade Jimenez who would bring back a good pitching prospect along with a good positional prospect.

    You won't be able to just salary dump Yelich. You will have to take on a portion of Yelich's contract. Somewhere around 10-15% of his contract depending on the team you are trading him to. Even large market teams are going to require the Brewers to eat some of that contract especially if they are over the cap or will be going over the cap.

    I think the Brewers go after a reliever and one that fits their mold is Barlow from the Royals. While he is not all that great this year he would be an improvement as the 4th or 5th option in the bullpen. He also shouldn't cost all that much to acquire.

    I still believe methane is probably the best option at least for heavy equipment. Methane when mixed correctly can have lower emissions than diesel. The diesel engines would also be a lot easier and cheaper to upgrade and adapt to accept methane. The US also has a lot of methane either naturally or from our large landfills. It is also a good renewable when mixed correctly to emit lower green house gases. I don't think methane is a good source for consumers but for heavy construction equipment and even semi trucks this would be an improvement over diesel without sacrificing efficiency. I think for hydrogen the biggest improvement for that will be with airplanes especially commercial jet airplanes.

    For as bad as Peralta has been he somehow still has a 13.7% SwStr% which is 10th in the league for starting pitchers. So there is some underlying data that Peralta should be pitching better than he has. For the month of July he has been the 4th best starting pitcher by the same stat:

    The Astros probably make more sense here. Not sure on the return it is hard to figure out what Caratini would be worth.

    Obviously the hype would be higher if he played for those teams but I think most would still say they are maybes for the HoF with the stats they have put up. I think both Greinke and Votto deserve to be in as they are some of the better players for their generation. I don't compare players to past generations as it is unfair to both the past HoF players and the player being talked about for the HoF. Each player should be judged based on their generation and not on past generations as the game changes from each generation. There are very few players who would be HoF worthy in all generations.

I think it would be a bad idea to raise the rates again in Q4 but I think that is when the Fed is targeting another raise. I don't expect a rate reduction until 2025 at the earliest and we will probably see at least one or two more rate hikes in 2024. This will all depend on inflation and how the economy is performing overall.

    Even with taking Yelich's NTC out it would be very difficult to find a trading partner to take on this contract. I think the best option would probably be a swap of Yelich for Scherzer or someone similar. You would have to take on a equally bad contract to move Yelich even with his improved play this year assuming the Brewers are not paying for part of Yelich's contract. Even if the Brewers take on part of Yelich's contract the return would be less than what Yelich provides to the team and unless the Brewers are only paying 5% or less of Yelich's remaining contract the savings wouldn't be worth it.

    I mean he is not wrong they are hall of very good but I love the remarks from Votto they are rather funny. I think Votto has a career as an announcer once he retires hopefully not at ESPN. He would be rather good on the national TV and I would prefer him over Smoltz and whoever else MLB has now. Votto and Greinke are both maybe HoF with compelling arguments for in or out.

    Another 25BP raise is rumored to occur. It is supposed to be today but haven’t seen anything yet from the FED.

    Give it a year or two and he is probably their head coach. Another possibility could be Iowa or Michigan State.

    The Brewers were willing to trade with the Cubs for Bryant or Rizzo. The Cubs on the other hand were not willing to trade Bryant specifically to a rival because of optics. It is why they got a poor return on Bryant. I would stay far away from DeJong and Anderson.

    For me it is all from scouts who I have spoken with and they believe he is a below average to above average depending on where he is playing. They have stated that 2B is probably his best position but he wouldn't be a liability at any that he could play at. By a liability they mean someone like Braun at 3B or Ozuna in the OF.

    Black may not have a permanent position (Mitchell, Wiemer, Frelick and Chourio are all better defensively in the OF) right now but he isn't as bad as Keston was/is defensively. He may not have the arm to stay at 3B but range wise and glove wise he is fine there. The same for 2B and even CF though Mitchell and Wiemer are far better defensively in CF than Black is. I think Black gets a bit of a downgrade unfairly because of his defense. He may not be the greatest at 3B, 2B or CF but he isn't a liability either. I think he is just average maybe a bit below or above average depending on which position you put him at. The problem is that Black is behind Turang better defensively at 2B and behind Mitchell, Wiemer, Frelick and Chourio in the OF. The best defensive position for Black is also probably his worst right now. This could all change in the off season with a trade of Adames where Turang then goes to SS. Black then has a defined position where there isn't another prospect or player blocking him. Maybe Urias would block him at 2B but you could always just have Urias at 3B assuming he isn't traded also.

    Brewers get: Soto Padres get: Frelick, Brown (SS), Small and Valerio (2B). Probably a little light there but I think it is close may need to add another piece better than Small.

    They are not contradictory. Top prospects normally only stay at AAA for a very short time. Majority of the top prospects are in AA and not AAA. The AAA teams are filled with AAAA players. The time top prospects are in AAA is usually two months at most. Majority of the time they are there only until they pass super 2 status. AAA is just not where top prospects stay for very long. If they play a full season at AAA it usually means they are not as good as the talent evaluators thought or they are injured. AAA is normally the shortest assignment for top prospects in the minor leagues.

    First AAA tends to be lower talent wise than AA there are far more career minor league and AAAA type players in AAA than there are in AA. If Black had a problem with being patient at the plate sure send him to AAA to work on that as he is going to face junk ball pitchers like Rea 90% of the time. AA is far better for Black than AAA is. AAA is just a spot you put your prospects when you want to call them up. It is basically just a holding spot when you are ready to move them to your big league roster. I would rather see Black get time at AA facing pitchers closer to what he will see in the majors than having him feast on AAA pitching.
