  1. If Cashman is let go I think Stearns ends up with the Yankees and not the Mets. The Mets may be Stearns childhood favorite team but the Yankees are a bigger name than the Mets. If the Yankees came calling it is going to be the Yankees who get Stearns and not the Mets regardless of who Stearns is a fan of and no matter how much money is thrown at him.
  2. Yelich for comeback player of the year in the NL?
  3. 2021 Brewers 66-45 2018 Brewers 65-51 2011 Brewers 65-50 2008 Brewers 64-51 1992 Brewers 58-49 1983 Brewers 61-46 I think there maybe one more I didn't check the other 80's teams. Though there is a really long stretch of very bad from '93-'06. I never want to go back to 90's and early 00's Brewers baseball. That '92 team was basically the last year of a good team in Milwaukee for almost 20-years.
  4. But they are trying!
  5. There was a strong offer for Candelario the rumored deal for Jimenez wasn't for Jimenez it was for Candelario. The Brewers offered Adams and Lara for Candelario but the Nationals preferred the Cubs prospects over the Brewers. Just what I have heard from the people I know who have given out information like this in the past. I trust them but take this with a grain of salt.
  6. Not to mention the execs would have to go to a higher role. For example Arnold would have to be hired as the POBO if the Brewers extend Arnold as the GM. So there won't be all that much poaching as some think. There maybe some guys who get poached but it won't be a lot and probably none of the key guys in Milwaukee already.
  7. Must have edited it before I quoted you.
  8. So your car is a full sized pickup truck?
  9. Tires are one thing you are going to be buying more with an EV as they weight more than equivalent combustion engine cars.
  10. I just can’t get into soccer it is boring and nothing happens. Lacrosse is a far superior sport and is easier to watch with more action and strategy.
  11. I guess I am celebrating alone again......
  12. Just going to leave this here...... Not really a big signing.
  13. I think it will be a quiet off season for the Brewers. I don't expect Burnes or Woodruff to be traded maybe on Adames. Obviously the Brewers won't be in on Ohtani and there really isn't a bat other than Ohtani that would be worth a long term contract either. Pitching wise the only good options are Ohtani, Stroman and Urias after that it is a bunch of meh. It should be a good off season to trade pieces but I just don't see the Brewers doing this and I believe they will just keep Burnes and Woodruff. I think they trade Lauer and Houser for lottery tickets but I think that is all the Brewers will do this off season.
  14. People spelling Wiemer incorrectly......
  15. Heels season 2 started last week. The first episode was good. If you haven't watched season 1 it is on STARZ but it is a really good series.
  16. Turang will always be a BABIP driven hitter and when he has his chase rate low he will be good enough offensively. When his chase and K rates start to rise he will be replacement level offensively. The power will probably never come but that should be fine for your #8 or #9 hitter. Frelick will probably be the same though he looks to have better bat to ball skills than Turang. Frelick should have a higher average but both look to be weak power wise.
  17. Probably disappointed but sometimes it is best to just hold where you are at. Sometimes buying turns you into the 2018 Pirates a team that probably should have sold but instead bought. They probably could of bought off of the margins but there really wasn't anything to buy on the margins for starting pitching this deadline.
  18. Assessing if he should be in AA or AAA next year would mostly be the decision of if they want him to be playing in the cold or would they rather see him develop in a warmer climate in Biloxi. I think this is why they put him in AA than in A+ where he barely played to start the year this year. Something similar maybe behind that for Chourio. Also AAA isn't really all that big of a step up from AA. The biggest jump in the minors is going from A to AA. I wouldn't be surprised if Chourio starts on opening day for the Brewers either. I still think the plan is for Chourio to finish out the year in AA.
  19. Strike out less than 25% of the time in AAA. Probably would need to be in the teens in AAA for teams to take Hiura seriously.
  20. Arnold’s contract expires after this season. Though I expect Arnold to be resigned and they are just waiting to see if they need to promote anyone so they can refuse teams from interviewing.
  21. I thought Urias was going to be traded but I thought it would have been the Nationals picking him up. Value wise he is probably worth less than what the Brewers received. Probably closer to $1mm in excess value or just a bit less.
  22. But I thought Stearns was telling Eppler what to do last year and this offseason?
  23. I think the plan for Chourio is to finish out the season in AA. It was extremely aggressive putting him at AA to start the year. I think he stays there for the whole year and the Brewers will assess if he should be in AA or AAA to start next year. Now Black I could definitely see getting to AAA after the deadline and I wouldn't be surprised if Black is starting the year with the Brewers and skipping AAA completely next year.
  24. Scott Barlow is probably my #1 target for the Brewers. He has had a really bad July in giving up runs and walks but all of his other underlying stats say he should be pitching better. He would also be under control for 2024 so not a 1-year rental. I think Barlow would solidify the Brewers bullpen giving them another 7th or 8th inning option. I am intrigued with Dylan Carlson but I don't think the Cardinals would trade him within the division. Tommy Pham is another bat I would like to see the Brewers add. I would really like to see the Brewers go '21 Braves and add 2-3 more bats along with a reliever or starter at the deadline. Another name to watch is Laureano though he hasn't hit all that much this year but he has hit lefties ok. It wouldn't cost all that much to get Laureano from the A's probably one or two lottery tickets at most.
  25. Do you have a source for this because everywhere I look their active total payroll is around $140mm and not $105mm.
